Middle East Newsline reports that "Bahrain plans to impose a series of measures as part of a long awaited crackdown against Islamic unrest.
"The Bahraini Cabinet has drafted legislation meant to impose stiff penalties on those convicted of what was termed terrorism. Officials said the new laws would be in accordance with those of other countries that have joined in the war against Al Qaida and related groups."
Great. I hope they will wage the ideological war against radical Islam as well. If they don't, a new generation of jihadists could emerge from the madrassas.
Regrettably, as 9/11 demonstrated, the jihadis need only 19 dedicated psychopaths, not "tens of millions".

Seriously......I mean lets face it....we both know along with many many other people that Islam itself is radical......do we need to put the appellation 'radical' in front of the obvious?
Kinda like saying 'radical nazi' etc etc....

Devon, thanks. Actually "radical Islam" is quite specific in referring to Muslims who believe in and are pushing forward the aims and goals of jihad ideology. That there are millions of Muslims today who are NOT doing this is simply a fact. I have pointed out many times, in print and elsewhere, that radical Islam actually has a stronger theoretical foundation in Islamic theology and law than does moderate Islam. But nonetheless, there are many Muslims who do not subscribe to it and even some who are working to strengthen moderate Islam's own foundations, and for that we should all be thankful.
