CSpan's Washington Journal

I will shortly be leaving Secure Undisclosed Locationville in order to journey to the capital of the Great Satan, where I'm scheduled to appear on CSpan's Washington Journal tomorrow morning at 7:45. I'm set to return tomorrow evening, after which updates will be posted.

We are so grateful for the education we have acquired from your work. We have a growing collection of books from several authors, thanks to you, and look forward to your future publications.

From what little we have gleaned, it is our guess that people in a position to DO something definitive about the threat facing us don't listen to what you have to say very much. Our thoughts are that we can learn it the hard way, by suffering continued attacks, or the easy way, by paying attention to the scholarly works of people like you.

Do you ever feel like Cassandra?

Perhaps we need to take a lesson out of the wider Islamic plan; in this country, at least, every school age child must be required attend schools which teach Aristotelian (as contrasted with neo-Platonic) philosophy.

One of the several reasons that Islam is successfully spreading all over the world is that they teach their children from the outset exactly what it is they want them to think.

Christendom also recognized the value of this process at one time; Martin Luther recognized almost immediately the need to create a population devoted to his beliefs, and that speed was of the essence. He therefore wrote to the various German states, asking them to implement a tax-supported and compulsory school system. They did, and it worked very nicely. The Catholics, who had been the only game in town for a long time, also recognized the effect of instilling their views in the very young. Within a very few years of Luther's successful creation of an educational system, the Catholics created the Jesuits, an order devoted to teaching. Their methods, by the way, were recognized at the time to be the most innovative in the world, and soon after that, they had schools all over the world, from the Far East to the Americas--somewhat reminiscent of Islam today. The Jesuits have said, "Give me your child until he is six, and he is ours for life."

Islam does the same thing.

And so must we.

We, fortunately, have at our disposal something not available to Islam in its present form, and that is, access to Aristotelian philosophy. Unfortunately, we do not take advantage of this fact in the current system.

As Deming has said, it's not the people you must
change, it's the system.

We must change the system if we are to save ourselves in the short run.

I say "in the short run," because there are still bits and pieces of Aristotelian thought bouncing around the country. So long as we hold on to these fragments, we will be unconquered. We may not fare well, but we will not be conquered. We will do well only when we fully grasp the importance of ideas, and their impact on our lives.

I don't know what the depth of your interest in the impact of philosophy is, so I'll spare you any more chatter; suffice it to say that Aristotle's thinking ultimately led to the Constitution of the United States, while Plato's thinking ultimately led to Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and, in a significant way, to Islam.

The incredible irony of it all is that we acquired Aristotle's extant works from a Muslim, Ibn Rushd. He was a brilliant man who lived in Cordoba, and he a consuming interest in Aristotle. Copies of his "Commentaries" started circulating among Italian students, which made the Church very nervous. St. Thomas Aquinas made it his goal in life to reconcile Aristotle and the Church. Since the Church had a largely Platonic heritage, Aquinas was unsuccessful, but his publications were in Latin, which served to speed up the spread of Aristotle throughout Italy, with the Renaissance as its legacy.

Shortly before his death, Ibn Rushd fell into disfavor and his books were burned. I'm not sure exactly what happened to him after that, but for whatever reason, he was reinstated in time to enter Paradise.

It's of some interest to note that Plato was Aristotle's teacher. For many years, Aristotle admired Plato, but as the years passed, Aristotle's thinking diverged from his teacher's, and the two had a hemongous argument and never spoke to each other again.

Today, the two philosophers are still at odds with each other through their philosophical descendents.

We almost lost Aristotle once; we mustn't lose him again.

I have programmed my ReplayTV to record this show (7:00 AM on a Saturday is a little to early for me!). Best of luck - I look forward to hearing more of your insightful commentary. In particular, I want to know what you think the U.S. should to to counteract the growing threat posed by militant Islamists.

P.S. I just ordered a copy of your book so maybe this will answer this question.

Mr. Spencer,
I watched your show this AM on C-SPAN. You stated that Islam wanted to convert Christians or they must pay JAZIA. That is what they did in India from the first attack by Mohammad Bin Qasim in 712 AD, followed by Gazni in 1000, Gauri in 1100 who plundered India and broke the Hindu statues. The Islamic rule began and lasted in India until 1857, when British took over. Islamic rulers converted 40% Indians into Islam and charged jazia from the remainder. Today, there are 400 million muslims in Hindustan(Pakistan, India and Bangladesh) almost all(99.9%) are converted from Hindus. Please remember I am not a Hindu, Muslim or a Christian. I am an independent American. Even today, Pakinstan attacks India daily on the name of Jihad, a Holy Muslim war to finish all Qafirs or non-believers in Islam.
I thought AMERICA was the safest place between two oceans, Atlantic and Pacific, but my idea was shattered by the JEHAADIES from ME on 9/11. Now hearing from you that Jihaadies will be created de novo in USA cause trembling and shaking.

Respectfully,
xjsa@aol.com

Saw you this morning. Great job! I appreciate your tireless work.

I agree with Ms. Andi. Excellent job. You got some... ummm... interesting callers too.

My God - why are you the only person talking about this stuff? What the hell is wrong with this country's media when these important issues are completely ignored? Thank you for coming on C-Span this morning - hope to see you on Hardball, O'Reilly Factor, etc in the future.

Mr. Spencer;

Thanks for the terrific site. I thought your appearance on CSPAN was marvellous. I did, however, notice a couple of things about some of the callers to the program.

One of them claimed to be a Muslim but spoke with a 40's/50's Brooklynese. But that's not what bothered me.

What bothered me was one of the callers asked if you were Jewish. Then, after you left the program, I think 2 or 3 other callers asked the Host questions regarding your religious status, a few in a coy fashion. One caller stated "Is he Jewish? He said he wasn't?! I don't believe him" or words to that effect (Zionist = you know what).

This is bothersome to me because it shows the high level of indoctrination of anti-semetic beliefs in this country, something that I thought was all but eliminated. If you support Israel, you must be Jewish, and/or a Zionist. And if you say you're not Jewish, you must be a "undercover". Conspiracy theories are fun when they're about bigfoot and UFO cover-ups, but in the realm of politics can be quite deadly.

Recently I returned from a trip to SE Asia. Interestingly, I never felt threatened in Indonesia, but when I went from Malacca to Kuala Lumpur, I began to fear for my safety. I was waiting at the KL train station for a train to Hat Yai, Thailand, and I went to a bookstore to find something to read. Basically, I'd say half of the books dealt with Jihad. Lots of 9/11 conspiracy books, one was "Dajal: The coming of the Jewish Satan" basically a perverted distortion of the the Book of Revelation with Sharon (or the like) as the AntiChrist, SEVERAL versions of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Hard, soft, Paperback, different Publishers) and many books like it. And that was just the English books... not the Malay or Arabic titles (which I can't read).
I also was accosted twice during my three hour layover. I could feel a high level of prejudice all around me.

Well, I rambling - thanks again for the great site.

I really liked your answers on cSPAN. I have been trying to know what to think--whether to go with the President and say that Islam is "peaceful and tolerant and merely hijacked by the radical Muslims," or as the author of "Tea with Terrorists" suggested, and tell the world exactly what the Koran teaches, reading the many verses that call for our death or dhimmitude. I have studied about 5 different Engl translations of the Koran. Personally, I think that the "virgen houris," the "eternally youthful young men," and the delicious wine and high green couches are merely secondary. Their main concern is avoiding going to Allah's blazing and boiling hell, where if they disobey Allah about killing us Christians and Jews, they will be "dragged on their faces to the flames of hell," and "forced to drink boiling water like a diseased camel with a raging thirst" throughout all eternity. [Yusuf Ali, Koran 56:55] The repetition of the "hell" threat is so constant as to hypnotize a Muslim into desiring to slit stewardesses throats and take planes into the Twin Towers shouting "Allahu Akhbar!" They are scared to death that the Koran is true. You mentioned that you are a Christian. I, too, am a Bible-believing Christian. I am very grateful for finding your site. I also like watch.org, and just discovered the little green football site!

This is a great website. Hope many red blooded Americans are logging on and getting this startling information. How can we concerned citizens help to get the word out? Can't wait to get Spencer's book. Keep the news coming.

Can we expect a terrorist attack against the USA just prior to our election, given that the Spanish terrorist attack was able to inflewence the election?

Are both politcal parties in the USA responsible for the open boarder with Mexico and is this not an open door for terrorists? Why is this door left open? Are huge corporations more important than the safety of the American people?
