"They should also not wear other figure-hugging or revealing dresses. 'The Pas Government will not tolerate females, including those from different religions, wearing such clothes during working hours,' Ladang State Assemblyman Dr Sulaiman Abdullah said yesterday.
"The Kuala Terengganu Municipal Council president said Muslims in the private sector would have to adhere to the Islamic dress code which would require them to use scarves and wear loose clothes. The KTMC will distribute circulars on the dress code to businesses and employers with those failing to adhere risking loss of licence or a maximum compound fine of RM250.
"'Action will be taken against employers who fail to comply,' he said after witnessing the swearing in of 22 KTMC officers at the Stadium Negeri yesterday.
'Employers will be responsible for making sure their female workers dress appropriately.'"
This is not a trivial point. It is part of the implementation of Islamic law and Islamic standards. Will it metastasize into full implementation of dhimmi laws? What would prevent this from happening?
The Malaysian federal government is the only thing that can prevent this from happening. Some of the provinces in Malaysia are more 'Islamicized' than others. This interview should give you a good idea (even though it's from 2001) what is going on in that province. Yes, they do want full shariah (dimmitude and all).
I hope the Non-Muslim Dhimmis, come together on this once and for all, and vote the Islamists off in the general elections.The Islamists have been sweet talking the gullible Non-Muslims that they will be treated well.Also they have grown arrogant just because they control two states. Malaysia has 13 states. Two states, Sabah and Sarawak have a Non-Muslim majority, mostly native Christians. This will be an eye opener,thank god for small blessings in disguise. The other states too have alot of Nons and progressive Muslims, I am definitely sure they will reject the Islamists. That is if the current government comes down hard on corruption and other abuses and is transparent.
