Britain's Sun tabloid reports some intriguing statements from Muddassar Arani, the lawyer for Abu Hamza, the former imam of the notorious terror-supporting Finsbury Park Mosque. (Thanks to Nicolei.)
Rallying support for her opinions in an interview she claimed: “There is clearly a war that is taking place against Islam.“That is why our people have to wake up and realise that one day it will be them and not others that this is happening to.
“Once we learn to forget our differences and speak with one voice and realise that we all are viewed as Muslims, we will be able to win this war that is taking place against us Muslims.
“We have to wake up to the fact that this is only the beginning of the war.”
Yet Arani seems well aware of how she can win this alleged war by using the West's own mechanisms of justice:
Home Secretary David Blunkett has revoked [Hamza's] citizenship after a string of vile outbursts.Yet Mr Blunkett is unable to remove him because of an appeal which Ms Arani — an expert in the minute detail of human rights — has warned will drag endlessly through the courts.
She said: “The appeals process under the immigration laws and, if necessary, before the European Court of Human Rights could take five years, seven years.
“There are going to be quite heavy legal arguments.”
Also:
Ms Arani, who wears the traditional hijab over her head and thick black-rimmed glasses, has admitted using her religion to win cases.She said: “I have noted that having the Islamic background has helped me have the edge over my opponents, since I am able to use this to my client’s advantage.”
Question for Ms. Arani: if this is a war against Islam, why is her Islamic background an advantage?
Why would not all Muslims WANT to be viewed as Muslims?
Until we (the West) start to see 'moderate' Muslims taking on the 'radicals', I feel we should view ALL Muslims as a potential fifth column, determined to destroy us from within.
You're exactly right. Someone left a post last night regarding the bombing in Russia that killed 39 and injured 130. She stated that we all need to be better educated with regard to Islam, that the terrorists don't hate us because we're non-Muslim, but hate us for what we do, like killing their mother or father, and that we're all racists.
Very poor spelling and wording, but I weeded through it and responded to the writer. Until Muslims get off their asses and put a stop to the radical faction within their own religion, their rhetorical cries of discrimination are falling on deaf ears.
This is another diversion tactic by them. A diversion tactic promoted by Islamic "charitable organizations" and Mosques inside our own country.
And yes, I've personally declared war on radical Islam. I exercise my second amendment rights, and if the event ever comes to pass that I catch these bottom feeders committing acts against my American brothers and sisters, I have no second thoughts about making this their last day on the planet.

I like your comment Mr. Watson about being their last day on the planet. I am not sure if there is such a thing as a moderate Muslim. I feel that they all in some way have an acceptance of this violence they call a religion. Not all of them will speak out against it or for it but I do not think the so called Moderate Muslim is going to do anything about stopping the radicals. That job will be left up to us and I am also ready to defend my homeland and send as many as I can to see Allah. Once again they all want to see Allah, well let's send them!!!!!
do you have any knowledge of the chechen war and the history behind if you did then you would understand how BOTH sides have enflicted terrible loss of life on citizens.
chechens: kidnapping,execution of prisoners and traitors, suicide bombing on civilian locations and brutal guerrila warfare agaisnt russian troops.
and the
russians: brutal invasion of the country,bombing by air and ground of civilian locations, execution and torture of prisoners, rounding up people in villages that strangely never return, destroying the cities and infrastructure and have yet to make any effort to rebuild..
before you go to war on one side you need to realize both sides are wrong in this terrible loss of life.
I would like to ask Joseph to please read the title of this article.....We are commenting on Islamists in America preaching hate, and screaming discrimination when one of their own is arrested on terrorism charges.
We aren't talking about but one war, the war on radical Islamists that want to kill us. Do you happen to read the posts before you pass on your views? or do you cherry pick the posts, look for words that stand out, then send your liberal opinions for all of us to endure, while you accuse us of racism, like you did me in another post?
Please stay on the topic related to the article, it makes it much more interesting for fellow readers and writers. And one last thing, if you are somehow trying to justify terrorism, you're on the wrong website for that. Loss of life is terrible, but you obviously don't realize, or you choose to ignore the fact that radical Islam, wants us converted or dead..

you make radical islam sound like the majority of the people share that belief. your solution seems to be misguided and blinded by bias. you say that this often repeated "moderate" islam must take control of radical islam but from the tone of your posts and others it comes off as you are reserved to the fact that because of the mindset of islam that this will never happen and its either us or them situation and we better destroy them...
I believe and maybe foolish in your eyes to promote understanding and tolerence between the west and the muslim people of the world and not give in to this mindset of this great religious conflict idea which in itself is not acceptable for muslims or christians. Do you actually think we can win this "war" by creating more violence and hatred.

Joseph, I have Muslim friends. Several. They have adopted America as their new home country and vowed never to return to their homeland.
I speak of Radical Islam as I do because simply, they want us out of the picture. They hate us. Yes, I do still believe that since the majority of Muslims are moderate, they far outnumber these radicals, and should get off their asses and do something about them.

Silence is tacit approval. Or perhaps the moderates are silent out of fear. Last year in Riyadh in the second housing compound bombing, the extremists specifically targeted a compound containing mostly ex-pat Muslims. The goal was an attempt to destabilize the Saudi government. The rational for targeting foreign Muslims was that they were not "true" Muslims.
It is not just a religious war between the Christians and Jews and the Muslims. Samuel Huntington was right. The Muslim "civilization" (as he defines it) IS in conflict with practically everyone: Western Christianity, Eastern Christianity (the Greek Orthodox - eastern Europe and western Russia), the Jews, the Hindus in India, the Buddhists in southeast Asia, the Japanese (Shintoists and animists), sub-Saharan Africa, the Chinese (especially in the far western provinces), the Australians (strange, that, since over the years, they have allowed many more Muslim immigrants than Saudi Arabia - Saudi Arabia pretty much does not allow immigration), and Latin America (pretty much ameliorated by lack of proximity or influence in Muslim affairs).

That does not consider all of the sectarian violence between the Sunnis and Shiites.
