How are Muslims changing French society? The key point here is that anyone who challenges this broadcast, on the grounds of animal rights or good taste or whatever, would no doubt be told that it is a religious freedom issue. But at what point does religious freedom stop, when the religion in question contains doctrines that call for warfare against unbelievers, and their dominance and subjugation? The Paris suburb of Evry, which has one of France's largest Muslim populations, has decided to install video screens to enable the local faithful to watch some 3,300 sheep being slaughtered for Eid this year.The televised ritual slaughter which will take place in a large mobile abattoir is the idea of a local meat wholesaler.
"If the idea succeeds this year then it's likely to become a permanent fixture of Eids in future," a local municipal spokesman said.
Meanwhile, at Le Mans, west of Paris, the local authorities have decided to build a "hard" structure in which the sheep belonging to local Muslims can be killed.
"If this works out," says an official for the prefecture which is overseeing the development, "then it's an idea that will probably be tried elsewhere in France."
The new approach to the slaughter of the Eid sheep comes after years of difficulties for French Muslims who, having bought a sheep for Eid, thought it was their right to see them killed in a local slaughterhouse.
That, however, contravened strict governmental regulations on security and hygiene. Additionally, there were relatively few slaughterhouses available for the killing of the sheep according to Halal practice.
However, with the number of sheep to be killed this year rising to 110,000, the government decided it was time to introduce new methods by which they might be slaughtered under government sanitary regulations but also religiously-authorized conditions.
The authorities have notified Muslim representatives, in particular the new official French Council for the Muslim Faith, of the changes. But they will wait to see the response before planning any future Eid-related projects.
Good clean family viewing fun. Not like the kuffars with their evil children's shows Blues Clues and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
Does anybody get the distinct feeling that some of them are just PRACTICING on the sheep?
It will be interesting to see whether or not the Animal Rights Group protest or lodge a complaint to such a massive cruel slaughter of these animals? Do you think that these groups would dare to say ANYTHING against the beauty, the peacefulness and wonder of Islam?......hmmmmm perhaps it will be understood by the postmodernist West as "performance art"...any thoughts on this?
Another issue is the general health concerns (hygiene) the public at large of having so much blood literally gushing everywhere from the slaughter of such a large number of animals. Although the official French Council for the Muslim Faith has been notified of these concerns,what do you think their response will be? Muslim religious freedoms being limited/restricted?
And there are still those who insist that Islam is a peaceful religion? televising the ritual slaughter of animals is "peaceful"? Why not - next year, it will be televising the public flogging of those women who did not wear hijab or the correct form of hijab, etc....stay tuned for the Muslim "reality shows" coming our way soon!

I checked PETA's American AND European websites and saw nothing about this on them. Brigitte Bardot, a REAL animal activist, has been fined several times for protesting the Eid slaughters in France.
and I thought Our reality shows were extreme...

Curious, "Muslim" is now a race. So that means "Buddhist" is a race as well as "Christian", "Taoist", etc......I have never seen Muslim listed as a race - as a religious affiliation, yes - but race - no. So much of the issue of Muslims, Islam and the West's absolutel refusal to acknowledge the ugly truth is beyond logic.

After carefully researching Google news.fr, it turns out the sacrifice in Evry was projected on a giant TV screen on site, not broadcast. This, apparently to satisfy the gross tradition of making the throat slitting of the family's sheep a show for all to enjoy.
In the second article below, a customer of another parisian slaughterhouse used for this rite commented "it is too bad, I saw nothing!" Behind a blood-splattered plexiglas window, stepping in pools of blood, 50 persons scramble to see the killing of their Sheep. Fathers carry their sons, others take pictures or film. "I would like to do the killing myself, like I used to do in my garden in the past, it was fun, but we have to obey the law."

Poor man could not slaughter an animal on his front lawn - but instead had to obey the law....I am truly amazed that he even admitted to having to obey the law.
