Noose Tightening around Bin Laden?

This weekend a number of sources have been reporting a stepped up hunt for Osama bin Laden. Word from Pakistan is that they have soldiers combing the mountains. Word from London is that Osama is surrounded. Word from The Washington Post is that we are, of course, to blame.

UPDATE: U.S., Pakistan Deny They're Closing in on Osama

For Islam, the capture of Bin Laden will only be a temporary annoyance. Their objective is the implementation of the Caliphate and Bin Laden is only one leader of one group in this enormous world-wide web of evil.

Don't let your guard down. Period.

my fear is that after ubl is captured or proven dead the lefties are going to start yelling the war is over which it isnt until islam is as mainstream as shintoism or national socialism

Jimmy, I think your fear is well-founded. Dhimmis will most assuredly use it as an excuse to close down shop in terms of the war on islamists so that they can get on with the more urgent business of normalizing gay marriage, socializing the health care system, and blocking any chance at school vouchers.

the wp story is stunning. what a bureaucratic clusterf--k!

"CIA officers working from Islamabad, led by station chief Gary Schroen, assumed in early 1998 that if their agents captured bin Laden in southern Afghanistan, a U.S. grand jury would quickly indict him."

grand juries!! what were these people thinking? my personal opinion was that bill clinton (like most demos) was (is) absolutely terrified of physical violence or confrontation, no matter how warranted (or abstracted), so he sends in the cops when someone just needs to take a head shot. bottom line is that clinton punked out.

The REAL screwup is, I think, in the associated article:

First, this is the same Justice Department that brought us Waco. Second, there's nothing sacred about an executive order.

If Bin Laden is captured....forget wasting time in the courts......we should just turn him loose in the middle of New York City......and let the families of of all the 9-11-01 victims have a crack at him.....with whatever tools they may bring...

D.C. Watson

Sooner or later he is going to be captured.
Unfortunately,it`s not going to make much of a difference for the genereal picture, meaning that the muslim jihad will not stop,it will probably get more active.
But like a civilized nation that we are,we are going to put him on trial, and that will be the biggest media circus ever known to human kind...a fiasco.
I wouldn`t even be surprised if he was found not guilty, based on lack of sufficient evidence, especially if a judge like Brinkema heard the case.
And once again, the US will be the laughing stock of the muslim street.
I still think that on 9/11/2001 the Martial Law should have been declared and any suspected terrorist executed on the spot, with no trial.
That would have brought the islamist to attention and made them realize we meant business.
God save America!

Jay: Lets not forget the stunning incompetence of Ruby Ridge and Elian Gonzales.

The judge who failed to put Smith in jail, should be considered as the moral author of Carlin`s murder.
He should be brought to justice, for his profesional incompetence and his liberal political views, have enabled the murder of an 11 year old girl.
Same thing with judge Brinkema:if the guy she allowed to walk will commit a terrorist attack, the judge should be held responsible for it,as the moral author of the attack.

Re: the discussion about the CIA hunt for Bin Laden, anyone out there familiar with what was (and is) happening? Would like to discreetly talk to you. I'm a reporter for the Los Angeles Times in its Washington Bureau. Secrecy and anonymity assured.
