Security review again delays Muslim chaplain's hearing

Continued strange goings-on in the Yee case. From the Miami Herald:

For the fifth time, the Army on Tuesday delayed the pretrial hearing for a Muslim chaplain accused of mishandling classified information at the U.S. terror prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.

The Southern Command in Miami said Capt. James ''Youseff'' Yee's hearing at Fort Benning, Ga., will resume March 10 -- not today, as previously announced. Prosecutors sought the delay because the military has not completed a security review of potentially classified documents in the case, Southcom said.

Yee's civilian attorney responded that the government should drop its case, which began with the West Point graduate's arrest Sept. 11 in Jacksonville.

'I don't know what takes so long about completing this classification review, but it certainly supports our position that there is no `there' there,'' said Yee's civilian defense attorney, Eugene Fidell.

``Whatever else you can say about the downward trajectory of this case, this latest delay affords the government time to take a hard look at whether the time has come to pull the plug.''

Early in the case, investigators told Yee's Army attorney to prepare for an espionage trial. No capital crime charges were ever leveled. Yee, 35, is accused of mishandling classified material, adultery and downloading pornography onto his government computer, crimes that could carry a maximum 13-year sentence.

The latest delay, announced late Tuesday, was the fifth blamed on confusion over the classification of documents.

Army Col. David McWilliams, a Southcom spokesman, also disclosed a delay in another Guantánamo case -- hearings against Army Col. Jackie Duane Farr, 58, also slated to open today at Fort Gordon, Ga.

Charged Nov. 29 with making a false statement and failure to obey an order, Farr is the most senior military official caught up in last year's crackdown on mishandling of intelligence by soldiers and civilians working at Guantánamo.

Unlike Yee, who was confined for 76 days at a Navy brig, Farr was allowed to continue working as an Army officer at Guantánamo pending his investigation. Conviction on his charges could bring a seven-year jail sentence.

A Muslim Chaplain downloading porn? Say it ain't so. But, Islam is so pure....and peaceful....and tolerant.......and most of all....full of it...This is the largest group of people on the planet that just so happen to be in a simultaneous state of denial when it comes to anyone of Islamic faith ever being anything less than perfect.....

Have we heard them admit to making a mistake as of late?

Those pictures were no doubt pictures of the promised 72 virgins in paradise - no Imam would ever look at porno - those are lies told by those you hate Islam and what Islam to be viewed in a bad light - (pleae know that I am not serious here!).

He`ll walk.
Just wait and see.
I hope he will be jailed, but in the end,he`ll walk.
Our justice system is not prepared to deal with these kind of situations.
Others, just like him will follow suit, encouraged by the favorable outcome.
We are allowing muslims to build mosques in our college campuses;no one can possibly say anything against it,for fear of being labelled a racist ora bigot.
We are allowing imams to preach hatred against us and then find refuge in the freedom of religion and "peaceful islam"deception.
We are banning any sign of our christian religion, from schools and public institutions, but we allow them to teach islamic doctrine in our schools,to our children.
They have attacked us and they are constantly stating their hostile intentions against us,and yet we are allowing them to get away with it.
They have infiltrated our society, our colleges, prisons, media, the army, and everything else, yet we are in denial and failing to react properly.
No matter how you look at it,unfortunatelly, they are winning, and they are winning big,at all levels, socially, politically, demographically, ideologically, relligiously, legally.
They are fighting us with sheer number, deception and politically corectness, and we don`t know how to defend ourselves against any of these tactics.
We are facing the most redutable adversary that we have ever known and we are not even capable of aknowledging the problem.
Oh,well, what can we do after all?!...may be that is what was meant to be.
God save America.

Adela, I think I love you ...I have been saying exactly the same things where I work, at social events, etc...and I just get looks of "what a nut case!"
Political Correctness must go! Being true to the underlying values of the West must be kept - but first they must be taught both in school and in the home.

Cultural diversity for a Muslim means that every culture can become muslim! Look at how the dress of muslim women throughout the world have become the same over the past 20 years. Before there were clothing styles suitable for the cultures/climates of the individual countries - that has and is changing for the worse!

I just finished watching The O`Reilly Factor on Fox.
I greatly admire Bill O`Reilly,he is a very courageous man,he is not afraid to express his opinions on national tv,even when those opinions are not entirely politically corect.
There was one thing that he said tonight that cought my attention:only after another catastrophic attack against America, things will probably change...
It is a shame for us to wait for another catastrophe to occur,in order to wake up and act against our declared ennemy, the ISLAM.
He also said that the american people ,the vast majority of us who still believe in traditional values that are the fabric of our society,we do not have a leader to speak up for us and to act accordingly.
Furthermore mr.O`Reilly said that unfortunatelly, president Bush has failed to take a stand for above mentioned values,to speak up against gay marriages, against political corectness and against islamic terrorism.
And in failing to do so,president Bush will not get the votes of the majority of americans who want and expect their leader to finally take a stand.
As i said before, there is nothing much that we can do to help all these issues, but our votes.
My vote will still go to mr.Bush, but for all the reasons i mentioned,it will be an unenthusiastic vote.
I would rather vote for mr.O`Reilly.
God bless America.
