Backpedaling furiously
After having provoked an international furor with his jihadist remarks, yet keeping his job, Australia's Mufti Al-Hilali is trying to repair his image as a moderate Muslim. This has him today discouraging Al-Qaeda, drunk with its Spanish victory, from carrying out its threatened attack against Australia. From AAP, with thanks to Jean-Luc:
Islamic spiritual leader Sheik Taj el-Din Alhilaly warned Muslims around the world a terrorist attack on Australia would be stupid and reckless and would only harm the faith.The warning came as a statement attributed to al-Qaeda threatened "America's lackeys", including Australia, with attacks similar to those in Madrid last week.
The statement singled out Australia, Japan, Italy, Britain, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as possible terrorist targets.
Sheik Hilaly issued a statement condemning all acts of terrorism.
"We assert on religious authority to any person on the face of this earth who may entertain any notion of Australia as a military target, that such a notion is contrary to the teachings of Islam and the natural laws of human behaviour," Sheik Hilaly said.
"Any destructive behaviour that threatens the security of this country is an act of stupidity, recklessness and madness that is harmful to the Muslims and is at odds with the forgiving nature of religion."
Sheik Hilaly also urged Australians to unite and remain vigilant of any suspicious behaviour.
But he expressed confidence Australia would not become a target, despite its alliance with the United States.
"The hand of terror and evil will not find any path to our land or our people," Sheik Hilaly said.
Meanwhile, the Sheik wrote to Prime Minister John Howard and other political leaders this week in an attempt to smooth over reports that he defended terrorist activity.
Sheik Hilaly allegedly made inflammatory remarks about September 11 at a sermon he presented in Lebanon.
But he blamed malicious fabrication for the reported comments.
"As for the allegation that I called for Jihad against Israel, this is a malicious fabrication that has no basis in truth," he wrote.
"As for the claim that I referred to the tragic events of September 11 as `God's work against oppressors', this is a terrible mistranslation.
Sheik Hilaly said his visit to Lebanon was for humanitarian purposes and he did not visit any weapons factories or military bases.
Moderate Muslim, or Master Chef?
Mufti Al-Hilali is a typical muslim hypocrite, fool and a coward. He knows the Australian police will throw him in jail, he does not have the guts to say anything in public, but he will be happy to support his muslim idiot bombers killing women and babies on buses.
But let us not forget these muslim hypocrites have been unable to make anything of themselves or support able to support their families in their own muslim islamic countries, instead they are dependent on the welfare of the west.
Mufti Al-Hilali and his majudungs pals in Pakistan think by killing innocent women and babies on buses makes them majudungs. No they are just cowards who hide behined their women.

This is one of the big problems with Islam. He just as well could have asserted that Australia is a military target, and Muslims would be "obligated" to make it so.

First we all know that Islam ONLY recognizes the LAW from Allah - so Sheik Hilaly is lying (which is allowed to infidels and to further the cause of Islam)and of course telling the Useful Idiots West what they want to hear.
Fortunately we know better - but why isn't the truth being given press instead of this officially Islamic sanctioned lying?

If the media starts reporting the truth, there will be a huge anti-muslim backlash that will give al-qaeda and OBL what they want. They want to start civil war and class war in countries where muslims live. They don't care if millions of innocent muslims are killed, just as the muslims who gave that bomb to the kid in the backpack the other day didn't care if he wanted to be a martyr or not. If killing millions of innocents will serve their cause then the end justifies the means. They want to start a world war and unite all muslims behind their cause. They want to get the moderate muslims off the fence and on their side. They don't care who has to die, as long as it isn't them. You're right about the taqayyah. I'd like a translation of what this muslim swine is saying to his followers in Arabic.

Geez I am australian and I know what would happen to the local mosque in my city should a bomb go off.......
Some may be on the fence, but more sit dumbly in front of their televisions, preferring to be blissfully ignorant, hoping that the end comes quick and they won't have to suffer. Heck, I'm just one person, what can "I" do about it??? What will happen when the electricity is turned off and they (gasp) have to walk because the price of oil has been jacked up? Seriously, we must make them come off the fence, otherwise, start sewing your burqas, ladies, and growing your beards, gents. Conversion or dhimmitude, in the dark, and on foot, no less.
No, it's not all about oil. Oil is only the weapons to extract conversion and allegiance. It will be doled out only to the worthy, the rest of us will walk or die.
Get them off the fence. We have to show them how they will be affected. If they think they will be denied their precious television and automobiles, I'm sure many more will be motivated.
