Feisal Abdul Rauf blames Christians

Feisal Abdul Rauf (ECTN)

Feisal Abdul Rauf, a New York imam, expects us to believe that jihad warfare was started by the West and can only be ended by the West. He is therefore either concealing or ignorant of the fact that violent jihad is a developed tradition within Islam and found in core Islamic texts (including but not limited to the Qur’an, as well as Hadith and books of Islamic jurisprudence). In those it has nothing to do with the behavior of infidels. It only has to do with the fact that they are infidels. Take, for example, this quotation from the Muslim prophet Muhammad:

When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. . . . If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim, book 019, Number 4294)

That is offensive jihad. It is buttressed by numerous other sayings of the Prophet, by the Qur’an, and by Islamic legal scholars. But Feisal Abdul Rauf puts it all on the West, and gets invited to Australia by Premier Bob Carr.

The US and the West must acknowledge the harm they have done to Muslims before terrorism can end, says an Islamic cleric invited to Sydney by Premier Bob Carr.

New York-based Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who impressed Mr Carr at an international conference last year, arrives in Sydney today for two weeks of meetings and public talks.

Speaking from his New York mosque, Imam Feisal said the West had to understand the terrorists’ point of view.

In a move likely to cause controversy with church leaders, Imam Feisal said it was Christians who started mass attacks on civilians.

“The Islamic method of waging war is not to kill innocent civilians. But it was Christians in World War II who bombed civilians in Dresden and Hiroshima, neither of which were military targets.”

This is outrageously specious, but it depends on the ignorance of the listeners. The bombings of Dresden and Hiroshima were not justified by the bombers on the basis of Christian theology. The bombings by terrorists — 9/11, 3/11, etc. — are justified on the basis of Islamic theology. By claiming that they are equivalent, Abdul Rauf obscures the Islamic roots of modern-day terrorism, thus hindering the prospects for the reform within Islam that is so desperately needed if jihad terrorism is ever going to cease.

Imam Feisal said the bombing in Madrid had made his message more urgent. He said there was an endless supply of angry young Muslim rebels prepared to die for their cause and there was no sign of the attacks ending unless there was a fundamental change in the world.

Yes indeed. But displaying a lack of the self-critical faculty that he shares with radical Muslims, he makes no mention, at least according to this report, of the Islamic roots of terror, and of the need for Muslims who truly (rather than deceptively) oppose terror to address this problem.

Imam Feisal, who argues for a Western style of Islam that promotes democracy and tolerance, said there could be little progress until the US acknowledged backing dictators and the US President gave an “America Culpa” speech to the Muslim world.

Of course. The historical depredations of jihad, they were all the fault of the West. The fall of Constantinople? Probably because of Byzantium’s support for Israel.

Imam Feisal forgets that the very first battle of Islam at Badr, was an OFFENSIVE battle and NOT a defensive one. Islam burst out of Arabia with violent jihad and has not stopped since. The Islamic sword is not for nothing on all too many flags of Muslim nations, such as Saudi Arabia.

I continue to believe that isolating Muslims”as they desire”is the way to go. No “cultural” or “educational” exchanges. No Islamic tourism to the West or the rest of the world. No emigration from Islamic lands”period!

Pull out all of our troops, aides and companies from all Islamic states. They cannot function by themselves. Those who have oil MUST sell it or starve.

Those Muslims who are in the non-Islamic world must be profiled and ultimately sign loyalty oaths AFTER being educated in the laws, obligations and morays of the civilized world.

Offer educational materials on civilization to Islamic states. We trade, they get educated.

If they develop WMDs”they suffer the consequences!

A “mea culpa” from the West would give the Islamists the moral high ground and set the stage for further demands. It is the classic first stage for the “persuasive takeover,” and the beginning of dhimmitude – first, subdue, then humilate, then allow them to make the choice…

If one insists upon going back in history to find justification, such as retribtution for the Crusades, the Reconquista of Spain, the brutality of Vlad the Impaler, the victory of the Polish knights, now, Dresden, which is can not be a consideration, as I doubt there were many Muslims in Dresden at time, one can always find an a long-ago resentment to use as an excuse to throw the blame on the other guy.

Muslim jihadists will continue their relentless quest to destroy the West because those that do no know history will not recognize the well-rehearsed and often used blame game that they are playing is a smokescreen to hide their real intention: world domination through the Caliphate.

Just reinforces the jihadis’ credo in the West:

    “Dissemble Prevaricate Obfuscate”

And our quiescent, ignorant media lap it up and regurgitate it without question.

Rauf is imam of a mosque that is just 12 blocks from where the WTC center stood. He is also the imam of the Islamic Center of Long Island in Westbury, 835 Brush Hollow Road. Larry Cohler-Esses of the Daily News wrote about anti-Christian, anti-Jewish textbooks coming out of the Crescent School, same address as mosque. When pressed about the hateful content of the textbooks, “What Islam is All About”, Rauf said the books should be changed. They haven’t been to date. Yahiya Emerick is the publisher of the books and a teacher at the school. Ghazi Khankan of CAIR is also at this mosque, along with Faroque Khan, head of NY American Muslim Alliance and affiliated with Islamic Society of North America. This is the same mosque Congressman Peter King had cut ties with after 9/11 due to disparaging statements they made about all of us.

Taqayyah. More Muslim lies. We need a national law prohibiting preaching hate, even on a religious basis like Islam. Better yet, recognize Islam for what it really is, a cult of murder and hate masquerading as a religion, and outlaw it. Saudi outlaws the practice of any religion in Saudi other than Islam, so why can’t we? Our founding fathers (and mothers) never had anything like this obscenity in mind when they wrote the Constitution or Bill of Rights. Freedonm of religion should not apply to Islam.

I understand the terrorists’ point of view all too well. It is this: Osama bin Laden: “Carrying out terrorism … is one of the tenets of our religion and Shari’ah…. This war is fundamentally religious…. Under no circumstances should we forget this enmity between us and the infidels. For the enmity is based on creed.”

    And this:
Hussein Massawi, former leader of Hezbollah: “We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you.”

I also understand what our response to it must be: It is this:
“We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight on the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields, and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!”

What more is there to understand?

Who will enlighten Carr? Clive James? Simon Leys? Owen Harries? the editors of Quadrant? It is maddening to think that the Australian taxpayer is paying for Rauf, who in a rightly-ordered world would be promptly expelled from the U.S. — or imprisoned as an enemy alien.

Hgh – they won’t be enlightened because they focus only on the bombings and their political repercussions. Few want to look at the big picture, especially because it involves what we know to be doctrinal. Moral relativism requires them to believe that the “reality” of Islam is just as valid as that of Christianity, and that questioning (oops, might mean condemning) the religious doctrine of another is a hate crime. They will eventually wake up, but I fear, it will be too late.

It’s interesting that “white europeans” under the guise of civilization, preaching the soothing words of peace from Jesus (peace upon him), set out to kill, enslave, and place in something LESS THAN dhimmitude, the “orientals” of the world. And their effects are still being felt and is actually the root of terrorism to this day. From South and North America to all over Africa and Asia…Christian Europe actually set out to forcibly convert by the sword and steal whatever was valuable from these lands including the bones and remains of buried Aleutian people. Jews and Christians (dhimmis) who lived under Muslim rule (not being required to leave their religion) enjoyed some of the their most productive periods. The European Renaissance is credited to having occurred with the ideas learned by Crusaders on their marauding visits to the lands of Muslims. It was christian catholics in spain who murdered and pillaged everything that was un-catholic in 1492. And who accepted the Jews who were put to flight? Muslims in Morrocco.

When you armchair muslim haters recount history, how about doing it correctly. I am not saying muslims never disregarded the rules of our religion and forcibly converted people, but this is expressly forbidden in the Quran and many historians, (with no religious axe to grind) have stated this behaviour was an aberration and not the overwhelming norm of how Islam was spread. Just read any history on how Islam came to China and Indonesia, how it spread over the entire Arabian peninsula…it simply can’t spread that fast at the point of a sword, people would resist. As a statement of fact, when Islam took over control of largely Christian egypt, it remained in the minority for 200 years. Christianity knows no such merciful rule in any of its history.
