Hamas leader: Bush 'enemy' of God and Islam

Rantisi ranting

Maybe Hamas really did mean it. From AP, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:

The new leader of the militant group Hamas on Sunday called President Bush the enemy of Islam and said that "God declared war" against Bush, the United States and Israel. In a speech at Gaza's Islamic University, Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi said he was not surprised that the United States vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israel's assassination on Monday of Hamas spiritual leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin.

"We knew that Bush is the enemy of God, the enemy of Islam and Muslims. America declared war against God. Sharon declared war against God and God declared war against America, Bush and Sharon," Rantisi said. "The war of God continues against them and I can see the victory coming up from the land of Palestine by the hand of Hamas."

The United States lists Hamas as a terrorist organization. The militant group has carried out many of the suicide bombings that have killed more than 450 people in the current conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

Immediately after the Israeli missile strike that killed Yassin, Rantisi and other Hamas leaders threatened to retaliate against the United States, Israel's staunchest ally. However, a few days later, Rantisi backed down from the threat, saying Hamas would only be active in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Israel.

God could wipe this earth out in a matter of minutes, as he is our creator. He's proven this in the past.

Problem is, this dummy has thousands dumber than he is listening to his every word. If they want some, I guess we'll just have to grant their wish, and destroy them.

I can't decide if these remarks are more maddening, or more laughable. I do know that Hamas runs their mouths until we front them off, then they back pedal.

This certainly lends more reason to keep a sharp eye on CAIR, and we all know why.

D.C.

Does this mean that Rantisi is more afraid of the U.S. than of Israel? He should be more afraid of us! (Israel) The taking out of the 'mother of all terrorists' was just a practice shot! Our pilots are amazing, aren't they?

D.C. is correct. God has no need of any of us to destroy the world. These people have the misguided notion that He does because they cannot exist unless they are either in a war or planning for one, and they use "the needs of the deity" as their excuse. Pardon me, God doesn't need us for war; that is Satan's milieu.

When necessary, the United States will respond at the appropriate time, in the appropriate place, with, of course, the most appropriate weapons.

God
The "concept" of God is usually defined by a lack of a definition. God is usually said to be unlimited in power, knowledge, and goodness and unknowable to us mere mortals; but these are all traits that are defined by a lack of something.

"God" is not a concept at all because it subsumes no particulars. Unlike a real concept, there is nothing in reality to which one can refer to and say, "That is God." To be unlimited in power, omnipotence, is a contradiction. To be unlimited in goodness, omnibenevolence, is taken without any standard of good. Regarding God, it is said that God is good. What is good? God's will. What characterizes God's will? Goodness. That circle is without substance and meaningless. Some people claim that all these objections are silly because God is simply unknowable. How do they know that God is unknowable?

The notion of God is nothing but a big mixture of contradictions and nothingness. There is no meaning behind the word and no concept to even define.

We view with mirth the ancient Greeks and Egyptians and other peoples with their pantheons of various Gods controlling various aspects of the world. We laugh at contemporaries who claim to have been visited by aliens or seen Bigfoot. Some even laugh and deride those scientists who make claims with only a little evidence in support of their views. But what is truly ridiculous is the people who then turn around and say, "the belief in God is perfectly fine" either because someone they know believes it or because a large portion of the population believes it. Truth is not a social phenomenon. Reality is absolute and can only be understood through reason.

What is disappointing is not so much all of the faithful, but all those who sanction faith in others. To accept without comment this ridiculous self-contradicting life destroying nonsense in one's peers and give it a sort of spiritual relativism sanction, to claim that each can believe whatever he wants, that one spiritual belief is just as valid as another -- that is what perpetuates the evil of faith-based religions and notions.

The belief in God and the acting on that belief is evil. It divorces one's knowledge and actions from reality, with consequences ranging from the trivial (wasting one morning a week) to the disastrous (crusades, having unwanted children, Israelis and Arabs slaughtering each other over a patch of desert, wasting one's entire life working for a purpose not one's own, etc.)

I posted this at the wrong place (the Jihadi in the machine strikes again!)

Dear smdemd (I'm sorry, I can't call you God), you are obvious an atheist, or perhaps an agnostic. You certainly have a well-developed notion of what God is and isn't. Good for you. At least you are thinking. Some people blindly accept God without thinking, and conversely, others blindly reject God, again without thinking.

Someday when you need Him, He will be there. He is always available for those want or need Him. Of course, if you want Him, you will have to make your desire known while you are stll in this life.

Good luck to you, and by all means, keep thinking.

Dear Mr. Rantisi: I was wondering how one goes about getting an audience with God. I noted in your speech today at a rally at Gaza City`s Islamic University that you apparently where able to get an audience with the almighty. In your statements you said that "God has declared war on the United States, and Israel". You also stated that he told you that "America had declared war against god," and also that "Mr. Sharon had declared war against God as well". In all fairness, to us mere infidels and Zionists, would you be so kind and see if he might take an audience with us as well so that we may be able to give our point of view on some concerns that we have as well? I have reviewed the 36 chapters of your Hamas Charter in the hopes of finding a key to how I may be able to get an appointment with the almighty. Unfortunatley there appears to be no information in there on how to get in touch with God. If you would honor us with either Gods cell phone number, address, fax number,or any other way I can get in touch with him I would greatly appreciate it. Please send the information to this website so that we can all have a peacful discussion and resolution to this problem we are all having together.

This is a declaration of jihad against us all. Now that Hamas is joined with Hezballah and Al Qaeda, they've got the troops needed to expand their genocidal attacks against the rest of the world. Meanwhile, the Democrats are trying to show John Kerry is better at fighting the Islamic jihad than Bush is. Okay.

"The "concept" of God is usually defined by a lack of definition". Says who? The concept of God being omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent is generally accepted among most peoples, even the uneducated. The bible truly says "The fool says in his heart "There is no God"". Just because something is too great for the limited human mind to grasp doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The natural order of the universe speaks eloquently of the one who created it. I have never seen a trillion dollars. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. God proves Himself through prophecy and miracles. I believe in the sun, even though I cannot explain how it works, how its' energy is never exhausted. I believe in the sun even in the dark of night. I believe in God even if He is silent.

"concept" Mental Abstraction i.e Man Made.

"Abstraction" Forms a generalization from particulars

Logic is the art of conforming one's thoughts to the Law of Identity. In one respect, thoughts have to conform to the Law of Identity, as does everything else. This has to do with the nature of thoughts. Ideas have a different nature than memories, which are different from emotions. In this respect, all thoughts conform to the Law of Identity.

Says who? (YOU) say who?

YOU ARE WHAT YOU ARE, YOU MAKE YOU

"In this respect, all thoughts conform to the Law of Identity." And just where do you think this "law" originates from? All laws come from The One True God, the YHWH of Abraham, Isaac and jacob, the great and living I AM. Do you even realize the illogic of claiming to be something you don't even believe in?

If it is war thay want, then it war thay shall have. All christians and jews will unite to kill and defeat islam.

Hamas should be careful about pulling the tiger's tail. Remember that the region of Palestine is very small, and they are very few in comparison to the might of the United States.

I find it interesting that the person who claims there is no G-d ends up calling himself G-d. This is the position of the secular materialist in action. Someone who doesn't believe in G-d comes to the point where they claim themselves to be the very thing they denigrate. They do this because if there is no one else higher than they/themselves, then by defacto they determine their own lives and act as if they were G-d themselves. That's logical thinking, you might say. Neitzche thought this and in the end committed suicide - as he could not handle his own inflation.

The problem is that what you don't either want to realize, or think about, is that your position IS a religious position. As an atheist/agnostic/or whatever, you have established that there IS a G-d. You have only traded in thousands of years of human history to stop worshipping that which is outside of you, to begin worshipping yourself.

You're right Paula, there is a strong strain of self worship in atheism. I'm a recovered atheist partly because I was fortunate enough to learn that at the root of atheism is not logic or empiricism, but ego.

Umm, but all that belongs in a different blog methinks. This blog is about that pathology called "Islam," so let's not get side tracked by a guy trying to insult us by calling himself god.

blushes.. Of course, you are correct Dave. I just had to say something - at least for the moment. Moving on now back to the subject. ;-)

Long live the Constitution of the United States of America! It's the greatest document ever written!

One of its two major authors, Thomas Jefferson, said he didn't care if someone believes in twenty gods or none.

To be sure that it didn't become an issue, the thinking of a young man named Molesworth, a prerevolutionary writer of pamphlets later known as "Cato's Letters" and pivotal to the Revolution, was incorporated into the Bill of Rights. It assured all of us, from Atheist to Zionist, that we were free to believe (or not) whatever we wished, provided we did not violate the rights of our fellows.

There are only two ways to violate another's rights--by the initiation of physical force, or by the intellectual equivalent of force, which is fraud or deceipt.

For now, many people are upset because an atheist is on our side. But think about it; there is no "atheist movement" trying to force you to give up your particular belief system; there is no known instance of an atheist blowing people up because of his views, and if there were ever "dhimmis" in the free world, they are the atheists among us. Bit by bit, the other "dhimmis" are becoming more tolerated--blacks, gays, practitioners of voodoo, and so on.

Has any among our posters ever wondered why his emotions are so stirred by the contention of atheists that there is no deity?

Bear with me; it's because there is no human being on the face of the earth who can tolerate the feeling that he is immoral. That's just a fact. Even psychopaths, commonly said to be "amoral," have a moral code (although you have to look closely, from an odd angle). That's the way we are made. There are teleological reasons for it, but that's too long for this space. Anyway, even the Muslims put forth their "morality" as the reason for their totally unacceptable behavior.

But along comes our atheist neighbor, who tells you there is no God. What is he saying to you, at the emotional level? He is saying that your source of morality is not real, so you are amoral.

Now THAT is painful--like I said, no human being on the face of the planet can tolerate the feeling of being without morals. Being amoral is just as painful as being immoral. All of the folks beating up on our poor atheist poster confirm the level of the pain he inflicts with his contention.

For some of us, such as myself (a cancer patient), additional pain can come in the form of "well, if the atheist is right, then the likelihood of eternal life is slim to none." That's not very appealing either, but it's the morality issue that stings those of us not facing death in the near future.

Someone commented that the atheist has to believe in SOMETHING. True. His morality comes from the conviction that human life, here on this earth, is the "standard of the good" by which all values should properly be chosen. A "moral code" is a set of values we all choose to guide our thoughts and actions.

Let's leave our atheist colleagues alone; more than anyone, given the totalitarianism inherent in Islam, they are on our side. Think about what your responses, as free men and women, have been, and then think about what their fate under Islam would be. Atheists are DEFINITELY on our side!

I've seen it happen time and again--mud-slinging from one type of believer at another type of believer. Here, in the United States, we are free to mud-sling without serious effect on one another (other than making each other angry), thanks to Molesworth, Jefferson, and Madison.

Let's stick together in a common cause here, people, because we need all the help we can get. We can quibble later. Right now, it's a waste of time and energy.

As the old saying goes, in any conflict, the most consistent side wins.

I think few of us will argue that those who blowing us up are not the most consistent. Their consistency is based on a disregard for human life.

Our consistency must be based on our regard for human life. That must be our only focus.

We can mud-sling, under the protection of the Constitution, after we have won.

the psychological transcendence whereby the human believes himself to be a god is part of the riddle of the garden of eden:

"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

"for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

Genesis 3:4-5

"But think about it; there is no "atheist movement" trying to force you to give up your particular belief system; there is no known instance of an atheist blowing people up because of his views, and if there were ever "dhimmis" in the free world, they are the atheists among us."

There is a very real "atheist movement" in America, not named as such of course, that attempts to limit the free exercise of religion, even though the Constitution specifically forbids Congress from making such laws. Think Michael Newdow. Think the Supreme Court banning voluntary pre-game football prayers. The dustups with Judge Roy Moore. The invoking of "hate crime" or "hostile work environment" whenever someone expresses an unpopular opinion. And of course, the news, with the constant refrain of Christians as a bunch of uneducated, backwards hicks. The attempts to purge Christian expression from the public and the private square and history are quite active in America.

Cubed:

Good letter. As Americans we do NOT have, and Never have had an official state religion. If that had been the case then this would have been part of the Constitution. That implies a very real separation of Church and State. Thank God for that!
As a people we are generally religious. The lack of a state religion allows the multitude of churches and sects to flourish. Of course, each religion and sect tries its best to let everyone know that they are the one, true religion, but people accept or reject on their own accord. That's the American Way.
The problem with the Islamic radicals is that they can't separate church and state. That makes them dangerous.
