The jihadist website Jihad Unspun (thanks to Susan) is saying that a hitherto unknown radical Muslim group, the Lions of Al-Mufridoon, is claiming responsibility for the train bombings in Madrid that have killed over 190. The major media is blaming the attacks on the Basque separatist group ETA, but they have denied it.
There is no reason to think Jihad Unspun can be trusted, but this is a significant development nevertheless: even if they didn't do it, radical Muslims want to look as if they did. All part of striking terror in the hearts of their foes.
Says Jihad Unspun:
In Europe’s worst terror attack and the bloodiest attack ever on Spanish soil, a well coordinated and executed series of bomb explosions hit commuter trains in the capital of Madrid as the morning rush hour was in process. On the eve of Spain’s general election, over 173 people have been killed and hundred more wounded, with estimates of the wounded expected to escalate near the 1000 mark.A total of 13 bombs sent pieces of the trains flying through the air at nearby houses and left gapping holes and crumbled metal entwined with human body parts. As rescue workers arrived on the scene, many of the seriously wounded were treated where they lay.
JUS has learned the Lions of al-Mufridoon has claimed of responsibility for the attack. Previously unknown, the group is said to be made up of Morrocan, Algerian, and Tunisian operatives, with suspected links to Al-Qaida.
Spain has been warned of their involvement with the "Crusader" army of George Bush and Tony Blair in previous Al-Qaida statements and more recently in both the last statements issued by Osama bin Laden and Dr. Aymen Al-Zawhari, which followed the attack on the Spanish embassy in Iraq.
While law enforcement authorities are casting a wide net of possible suspects in the attack, Spanish government officials were quick to blame ETA, the Basque separatist party that has been a thorn in the side of the Spanish government for the past 25 years. This attack however in not inline with their previous actions.
Spain has been the most vocal supporter of the "War on Terrorism" with troops still inside Afghanistan and currently 1400 soldiers fighting in Iraq. It is thought that if this latest attack is attributed to the war in Iraq that it could collapse president Hosay Marie Aznaar vote in the Sunday’s general elections.

A stolen van was recovered at Alcala de Henares, now a virtual suburb of Madrid (once an independent city of renown); within were found seven detonators and tapes with Qur'anic verses. Should this prove to be linked to the bombs at railroad stations everywhere in Madrid, not even Javier Solana, nor Chris Patten, nor Mary Robinson at Columbia, nor Edward Mortimer at the U.N. Secretariat, nor all those EU bureaucrats up to their neck in building a greater Eurabia at the expense, in the first place, of Israel, but ultimately at the expense of Western civilization, should be able to supply plausible justifications for their appeasement of Islam and their vicious use of both antisemitism and anti-Americanism to further the Eurabian venture.
It is fascinating to recall that Alcala de Henares was not only the birthplace of Cervantes, but also the seat of Cardinal Ximenes, Primate of Spain and founder of the University at Alcala (Alcala de Henares was, to the Romans, Complutensum), whose efforts and money produced the celebrated Complutensian Polyglot, the first polyglot Bible, in Hebrew, Aramaic, Latin and Greek. It is quite a trajectory. In 1514 Cardinal Ximenes sets to work his team of European scholars, now that the Reconquista is complete and it is time to promote again the study of the Scriptures, as ab undertaking appropriate for a self-confident West. Nearly five centuries later, in 2004, evidence is uncovered of attack which is part of the violent Jihad now accompanying the other, even more potent weapons of Jihad -- especially the twin instruments of demography and Daw'a now being unsheathed against the non-Muslim peoples within Europe, who had complacently assumed, and can assume no longer, that their policies of appeasement, their policy of building a "Eurabia" based largely on the theme of throwing Israel to the wolves of the Jihad, has failed as an attempt to buy them safety. Those Muslims who are paradise-bent on destroying the West, and destroying its Scriptures, no doubt had no idea of the symbolic significance of Alcala de Henares. But let it be recalled that the four languages of the Complutensian Polyglot (the language not only of the Jews, but of the Eastern Christians of the communities subjugated, and doomed to slow asphyxiation, after the various Muslim conquests), represent the four cultures which gave birth to, and largely formed, Western civilization during its first three thousand years.
Surely this attack, if indeed it proves to have been the handiwork of Muslim Arabs, should represent, for all who have eyes to see, the beginning of the end of the sinister project of building Eurabia, and from this point on, led by America but also by those in Europe unwilling to throw away their own civilization in a fit of appeasement and absent-mindedness, will give the West a chance to demonstrate powers both of recuperation, and of gratitude to the Great Dead who formed that civilization, and who, under Islam, would not have been tolerated for a minute. Expressed in compressed form, the West has gone in a half-millennium, from the Complutensian Polyglot to the Complutensian Plot. Let it now come to its senses.

Regardless of who is to blame, the cancer of terrorism continues to grow and fueled by enthusiasm of Jihad encouraged by the Middle East. The war against terrorism needs to increase. I see that our possible next President, Senator Kerry, only was concerned with calling Republicans crooks today.
The United States and the civilized world needs to focus its priorities on fighting terrorism. What happened in Madrid could happen anywhere.
We need to do more faster, not less. And we have no time to fight among ourselves on nonsense.

Nice piece Hugh. Islam wants Spain back. After all the sanitizing and whitewashing of Islam that we were taught in school, and how really "bad the Inquisition was," we are finally learning why Isabella and Ferdinand were so adamant about "getting rid of" all those Muslims and others after the Reconquista. As appalling as the torture was for minds, I can understand how threatened that society must have felt and why she felt the need to establish a cultual norm after all those generations that had to face down the onslaught of Islamization. Imagine the difficulty these people faced in overcoming and ridding themselves of this scourge. Of course, 15th century Catholic Spain was no paragon of tolerance, but their reactionary response is very understandable in the view of today's events. It is amazing how history is again making the big circle and that we are really very little different from our ancestors. The same threats but more bigger and more deadly weapons.

That website does not have much credibility anyhow. It looks very professional yet does not look authentic. Many links do not work.
