From WND, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
A document discovered during a recent Israeli army raid on some West Bank financial institutions found payrolls being prepared for terrorists trained to commit suicide attacks – not just in Israel but in the U.S. and Europe, Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin reports.Israel has reportedly shared the information with the intelligence agencies of friendly countries, including the U.S. and Russia, according to the premium, online intelligence newsletter.
In addition, new information about the ways and means of suicide bombers has been shared indirectly with the governments of Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf states.
G2B has learned Israeli specialists are now working closely with Russian agents of the Federal Security Force, sharing with them information on the technology and means of preparing suicide bombs to be used by individual shahids – or "suicide martyrs."
In the course of the latest raids, Israel seized millions in cash from four Palestinian bank branches – much of it sent by Iran, Syria and Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas to fund Palestinian terrorists.
The joint operation by police, army and the Shin Bet security service last Wednesday marked Israel's largest-scale effort in more than three years of fighting to stop the flow of funds to Palestinian terrorist groups, including from Hezbollah.
Troops were accompanied by computer experts from two of the banks, who had been arrested overnight. Soldiers covered the banks' cameras with sacks or disabled them, and confined employees to back rooms, witnesses said.
"The purpose of this operation is to impair the funneling of funds, which oil the wheels of terror against Israel," an Israeli army statement said.
Israeli forces checked several hundred bank accounts, some belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad, security sources said. An Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the forces were also looking for evidence of possible involvement by Yasser Arafat in funding terror attacks.
The forces took the equivalent of $6.5 million to $9 million from the bank vaults, corresponding to the amount of money found in the targeted accounts, security sources said.
The operation is part of the "global war" on terrorist funding, an Israeli army statement said.
Suicide bombers are growing more sophisticated, say G2B sources. Israeli counter-terror experts who participated in a South Carolina conference introduced a number of photos and actual products of suicide bombers' equipment including carry-on bags and briefcases loaded with pipe bombs and activated by cell phones. The cell-phone system is described as a method used by a team of attackers – one is the mule carrying the bomb and the other dials the activating number at the right moment. This method is also designed to avoid last-minute hesitations by the bomb carrier.
Police experts say the method of building suicide bomb vests has advanced by the use of more sophisticated explosives and techniques of flattening the charges so they can be concealed easily into clothing items. A police source told G2B terrorists are developing such bombs knowing they will have to improve concealment towards the coming spring and summer. Climate conditions will automatically raise suspicions of whoever wears heavy, winter type, items when the temperatures are high.
The use of better designed suicide bombs will have an effect on other terror intentions such as attacks on airlines or penetrating offices guarded by traditional methods only.
While suicide bomb attacks are common in Israel, they have been unheard of in the U.S. They are on the increase, however, against U.S. forces in Iraq. Last week Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said the No. 1 threat to the new government and U.S. forces in Iraq comes from suicide bombers.
If this happens, you can kiss moderate Islam goodbye forever: massive public backlash would either force moderates to leave, or they would be driven to extremism as a self-defense mechanism.
I'm not trying to justify any sort of violence, from either side, but this seems the only plausible outcome. Americans may maintain a thin veneer of respect for Islam, but if a suicide campaign on the scale faced by Israel is waged, that facade will shatter. Expect lynchings of innocents, mosque attacks, etc.
I may be critical of Islam, and even a bit suspicious of a "fifth column", but such a wave of bloodshed would be a step back to the dark ages. Of course, such a move is the ultimate goal of the Jihadists, as it would provide a huge untapped source of alienated young fanatics to throw into the "meat grinder."
Suicide bombers will bring about the end of terrorist-supporting groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) because the American public will fight back, and, quite possibly, groups such as these might experience attacks themselves. CAIR is an anti-American group bent on destroying our republic and changing it into an Islamic Theocracy. People are slowly but surely becoming more aware that activist/extremist groups like CAIR are the enemy and that they back terrorism in this country. CAIR works closely with terror groups and was actually spawned from Hamas. The director of CAIR has been quoted that he supports Hamas.
I do not condone violence - I do, however, strongly support the ousting of CAIR and having their members locked up and/or exiled from the United States whether they are US citizens or not.
I agree with the above posts. The fanatics may gain some attention from the arab world by such acts, but the bad publicity in the west would be shattering.
Since I consider all Islamic terrorism state-supported, I doubt a large-scale bombing campaign will happen. The arabs know it would be counter-productive, because we would start treating all the state sponsors the same way Israel treats the Palestineans.
Scott's diatribe is EXACTLY the type of "commentary" that CAIR and its ilk will use to promote their agenda. Namely, "look at these intolerant non-Muslims, Islam is a religion of peace, CAIR represents a rational conduit of interfaith discourse, CAIR is necessary to protect Muslims from hatred, blah, blah, blah..."
As all who have seen my posts here know, I am a vigilant, anti-Islamist analyst and commentator. As a non-Muslim, I definitely have a dog in this fight. But I would ask that Mr. Spencer remove Scott's post forthwith, so as not to aid the Islamists' position.
help immiediatly.
i have a fellow student here that is trying to tell me that islam is a peaceful religion.and that every religion has the ability to become violent. I don't have the quran knowledge.
give me some arguments.
Bartb: While it may be true that all normal human beings, and therefore religions, have the potential for violence, only Islam was founded in violence, steeped in violence, spread through violence, and today is supported by violence.
The Golden Age of Islam in places such as Spain is controversial, but I understand that the rulers of the time did indeed allow for some secularism and free thought; two of the hallmarks of an enlightened society.
As for the rise of Islam, Muhammad, and all the violence that comes along with them, see:
Quran
Surahs 9:3, 9:5, 9:29, 9:30 (Basically all of Chapter 9)
Surah 16:94

and remember what Quranic abrogation is.
Hadith
Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 82, Number 794
Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57
Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 459
etc, etc.
There are so many instances of violence, rape, torture, etc, in Islamic scriptures, that I can't really bring them all to bear for you.
I must end my post with a disclaimer that while the Pentateuch and other Judeo-Christian scriptures contain similar barbaric commands, few Christians or Jews nowadays would even consider following through on them. Not so with some Muslims.
Nathan:
I meant that the individuals within a religion are capable of violence. After all, a religion is two things: its scriptures and its followers. I apologize for not being clearer on that semantic nuance.
For instance, although canonical Buddhist scriptures contain not one iota of violent directives, Buddhist individuals, at least the unenlightened ones, are capable of any tawdry human act.
To me, the term "religion" means a path for human beings to follow in order to cultivate morality and other virtues. The main scriptures of a religion generally dictate its followers' level of tolerance, enlightenment, and so forth.
The Tipitaka and the New Testament are on the higher end of the scale. In my opinion, the Quran is near the bottom.
(Also, I must respectfully disagree with you about the Old Testament. Leviticus et al were the foundation of the Mosaic law of the time, which means their directives, such as kill homosexuals, kill your family if they entice you to apostasy, etc, were followed. Luckily, Jews and Christians no longer follow Mosaic law.)
Dear Bartb: Mohammed founded islam by slaughtering anyone who did not "submit to the will of allah" and convert to islam. Jesus founded Christianity by dying on the cross and shedding His blood for all. Mohammed admitted Jesus was without sin. Therefore Jesus could not have made any false prophecies, or he would have been a false prophet. Therefore he would have sinned, making Mohammed a liar. Jesus prophesied his death on the cross. Mohammed denied Jesus died on the cross. I'll call old Mo a prophet when anyone can show me any prophecy in the Koran. There is none. No prophecy = no prophet. (Or a false prophet. See deuteronomy 18:20-22 for God's definition of what qualifies someone to be a true prophet.) Mohammed said the moon was his Lord (al-annam 77,
Yusuf Ali and Pickthal's translations). Mohammed contradicted Jesus, as Mohammed swore by the moon (Surah al-muddaththir 32) and Jesus said "swear neither by the Heavens, for they are God's throne, or by the earth, for it is his footstool...." (Matthew 5:34-35). Do God's prophets ever contradict each other? Also Mohammed and the early Muslims worshipped 3 female goddesses in addition to allah. (Surah 53:18-20). This is where the "Satanic verses" that Mr. Rushdie quoted came from. Did the God of the bible ever allow His followers to worship any "gods" other than Him? Did He ever allow his prophets to be seduced by Satan and include verses that He had not instructed them to say? hope this helps some.
Oh boy it that happens here Bush and the media will have to repeat their post 9-11 chants 24/7....
"islam is a religion of peace, islam means peace, terrorists have hijacked a peaceful religion, blah blah blah".
Suicide bombings in the US would have these results: the end of the PLO, Iran's leaders, any Saudi bank account (even if Switzerland has to be invaded), and the loss of oil fields to unfriendly governments. If the gloves come off, this war will be something they can't win.
Now I wish this meant it wouldn't happen.
Is the author on drugs? As I recall, 9/11 consisted of several suicide attacks. Many what he meant to say is that the daily grind of relatively smaller suicide attacks (such as what is experienced by Israel) has been unheard of in the U.S.
As a people, we are patient to a fault. If the Islamists begin carrying out suicide murders in this country, even the slow learners will begin to grasp, at least at a concrete level, the nature of the problem that faces all of us.
If the slow learners catch on, the Islamists will have shot themselves in the foot. Despite the public schools, we have enough scraps left in the "great American subconscious" of the Jeffersonian ideals that our country was founded on to realize that this is the kind of life we want, and not "Life, Islamic Style" or the sort of existence tolerated by Israelis.
In order for the world to return to a semblance of normal, Islam must 1) change its moral code from death-worshipping to life-supporting, or, if it will not do this, 2) to be destroyed utterly.
If it does not give up its irrational goal of world-wide compelled belief, it will eventually commit the ultimate act of martyrdom, and cause itself to join all the other failed religions of the past that have disappeared because they were inconsistent with the best interests of their followers.
Thank you for all of the very compelling evidence everybody. The only problem that I had though, as I found out later, is that my opponent was an atheist. This fact makes it extremely difficult for one to convince an opponent using religious material. Thank you.
"The fool has said in his heart there is no God". Pslams 14:1, and 53:1.
Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. Titus 3:10-11.
