Mahdi Karrubi
In Tehran a ceremony to honor Sheikh Yassin of Hamas was attended by high-level officials, according to Persian Journal. Apparently Iranian officials were undeterred by Yassin's ordering of targeted murders of civilians on buses and restaurants.
A ceremony to commemorate Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, teroorist Leader of Hamas was held in the Ark mosque in Tehran on Sunday. The ceremony was attended by Akhtari representative of the So-called Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Majlis Speaker Mahdi Karrubi.
Also present in the ceremony were Hojatoleslam Shariati, representative of the president Khatami and several members of the cabinet as well as ambassadors of Islamic countries such as Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.
The attendants insisted on continuing the path of terror and the Palestinian campaign against the Israel.
Meanwhile, in Iraq, AP headlines a story this way: "Revival of religious Shiite books as defining feature of community's empowerment."
Now that the dictator is gone, bookstores in this holy city south of Baghdad are busy again. For the first time in decades they are selling over-the-counter Shiite religious books that could have easily landed their owners and readers in jail, where torture was common. ..."Being in the book business is not just a way to make money," said Saheb Jawad, whose shop is on al-Howeish alley along with many other bookstores near the shrine of Imam Ali, Shiism's 7th century founding father.
"It is the virtue of spreading the faith that makes it worthwhile," Jawad said.
Do these Shi'ite religious books glorify violent jihad and justify suicide attacks as "martrydom operations"? Does anyone know? If not, why not? And if the books do this, what will prevent Shi'ites in Iraq from trying to replicate Iran there? Will memorials to Sheikh Yassin be erected in Baghdad?
Thisis whats in those books.
(apologies - but felt they needed exposing)
And the moral of the story is, don't buy any livestock from an embarrassed looking man from the next village.
The sayings of khomenei shows what the 'holiest' 'thinkers' in islam will say when they have no fear of the west. Is hoodie still around?
If you are hoodie, click on kc's link and then tell us how proud you are of this great iman.
Peter, good post. I wonder if Khomeini practiced what he preached? Maybe those 72 virgins go "MOO".
OPPS! Sory, KC, I meant credit for the post to go to you
Robert, just a sidebar, feel free to delete this, but do you have any idea why it is so hard to get a copy of your book "Onward Muslim Soldiers" in Barnes and Noble here where I am? Had to have them special order my copy.
What's in these books? The reason that Saddam supressed them is that they "create religious drama." Hmm. What's in these books ---- Trouble!
These are Islamic values? Having sex with a child or an animal rather than a woman? These people would be imprisoned in the U.S.; they should be imprisoned anywhere they're found. This is sick and insane! Lord Carey is totally wrong, Islam and Christianity do not have values in common.
Man! What an ideology! Yuck!
Hal
I bought "Onward Muslim Soldiers" at a Barnes and Noble in Dallas. It was not on display, they had to get it from the back and said that they only had one other copy. I suggested that they reorder as I thought lots of people would be buying it. The sales clerk gave me a dirty look.
Wow, come to think of it. Barnes and Noble in my area also had to order this book and others on the same subject. But at least the salesperson smiled.
They must have been advised not to have these books on the shelves where people browse. Do you think there's a conspiracy?
Hal, Sam, EPG:
Thanks for being interested in the book. I am not surprised that it was hard to find, but these folks work on simple economics. It is extremely unlikely that there was any conspiracy. The book was not a big seller, so it wasn't on prominent display.

Just the title is enough to put me off ("Sayings of Ayatollah Khomeini")
I am Sunni, so I don't like other men i.e. Ayatollahs who purport to talk to God or angels. It will be nice if you don’t attribute his sayings to Islam although I understand your bad intensions.
HJ, what bad intentions are you referring to? That people should know the truth? This man was an Islamic religious leader for a large segment of Islam. Many people still revere him. He said these things, based on his knowledge of the koran and the hadith. He actually wrote this junk. All this is true and documented. Stop assuming that just because someone says something bad about Islam it is false. Robert's site is just exposing the truth about the bad side of Islam. Or do you have a problem with the truth?
Everytime I read what the Suras and Hadiths have to say, I feel sad for the Muslims who believe in it. There is such ignorance, masquerading for truth that these people believe. How sad! :-( It also makes me appreciate the Bible even more.
Robert, may I suggest that possibly the reason the book wasn't a huge best seller is because it wasn't on display? Even their discount racks are put out front where everyone walking in sees them first, but your book either is hidden away way in the back or has to be special ordered. And you had a great piece on Today with Katie Couric (saw it, well done, kudos) to help publicize it. I have mentioned your book to my favorite talk show host, Charlie Jones on Texas Overnight as required reading. http://www.tsnradio.com/talkshows/texasovernight.html0
I think his show is on XM radio, not certain, should be from 1 a.m. to 5a.m. Eastern time. I would like to hear you on there sometime. Maybe you could to a phone interview. I know the other listeners would appreciate you as much as I do. He periodically has guests, one favorite is Msg. Jess Johnson, US Army Special Forces, "retired". I say that in quotes as Msg. Johnson still does "consulting" work in Iraq, Georgia, Afghanistan, et. al. His site is http://www.sitreponline.com/
I think you'd enjoy talking with him too.
Hal, thanks. I'll talk to any radio or TV host who will have me. And anyway you may be right about display. I think other factors were more damaging: one was the almost total absence of reviews. Even a major "conservative" publication reviewed or otherwise featured every other book published by Regnery Publishing in Fall 2003 -- but not "Onward." Now that, combined with some other things I know about that "conservative" mag, did make me suspicious. But in any case the best way for the opposition to limit the impact of ideas it doesn't like is simply to refuse to discuss them -- and for most of the publications that review books, "Onward" simply didn't exist.
It's a pity, too: I tried to build an irrefutable case in the book about the goals and roots of jihad ideology. It would have been interesting to see what those who think differently made of the book.

Thanks, gentlemen. I don't want to give you the impression that there has been a total blackout. I have been on hundreds of radio shows, although the ones you mentioned don't ring a bell. The ones listed on the Media page are just a few of the better-known ones. I was just on Savage Nation again a couple of weeks ago.
But I did think the absence of reviews was curious.

Robert, you might Email Charley and talk with him. Nothing ventured, as they say. I thought you built a very good case in Onward. Maybe mail him a n autographed copy to get things going. You'd have a good audience here in Texas. Talk with Jess Johnson too, maybe send him a copy. (Any chance of me getting my copy autographed if I include return postage?) He's a good friend of Charley's. Sad to think that Khomein has more readers than you. Maybe you need a better agent.
"Robert, you might Email Charley and talk with him."
Sure. I am leaving Secure Undisclosed Locationville in the morning and am set to return Tuesday evening; I'll see about it then.
"Nothing ventured, as they say. I thought you built a very good case in Onward."
Thanks.
"Maybe mail him a n autographed copy to get things going."
I'll have to buy some more! I have run out of copies!
"(Any chance of me getting my copy autographed if I include return postage?)"
Certainly. Email me and I'll send you mailing instructions.
"Maybe you need a better agent."
I plan to be working on this soon, too, if I can get a minute!
Many thanks
RS
Right, got it. Thanks, Hal
Robert, you really need not go to much trouble when researching your next book. No matter how sunny and bucolic Secure Undisclosed Locationville may be, the fact that it IS SULville for people like you, Emerson, and that good ol' trailblazer Rushdie speaks very loudly indeed. In fact, simply call your next tome "I Criticized Islam" and fill it with the emailed death threats and what must be hilarious attempts to trick you into naming your locale, and I bet it'd be a best seller!
Take care,
Doug
whenever i take the bus to visit my family [cant drive more than an hour or two] i like buying a book for the trip there then stop and get a book for the return trip ive noticed books on the subject matter like onward muslim soldiers are not seen without digging ive noticed this when looking for roberts books dori golds books even bill orielley's books or sean hannity's books and daniel pipes books there is however prominently displayed in the political books by chomsky micheal moore edward said exetera now its not a conspiracy its just that imho the owner or manager of most bookstoors ive been in are leftist liberals and display what they can sell like stephen king and what they enjoy reading chomsky or i could be wrong
Barnes and Noble did not have any of the books i was interested to buy, such as"Onward musim soldiers","Radical islam reaches America","In the path of god","Islam unveilled".
I had to order all of them from Amazon.com
Seems like these stores are more interested in being politically correct rather than selling books,or making money.
Robert
I promote your book at every opportunity. I agree with Adela that books stores are interested in political correctness. I am sure that they have felt the heat from Muslim groups that don't this material to be available for browsing, an attempt to silence their critics. Thus, there is a conspiracy, but not caused by the booksellers.
Good luck on your trip. "See you" tomorrow.
Do these Shi'ite religious books glorify violent jihad and justify suicide attacks as "martrydom operations"?
The ones related to islamic clerics in iran's regime is doing it all long. during the 8 years war between iran and iraq, the regime sent young people to the front to go over mines as a "human shield" so other soldiers can go over them. or they sent 13 years old kids under the iraqi tanks with granades. in fact they gave a metal key to every kid and when they asked what is this key they said it's the key to the paradise, then sent them over the mines.
of course all of them were martyrs! fighting against big satan america and his pupet saddam! before they start to use young kids as human shields they tried it with donkeys but they couldn't decieve them. the donkeys didn't go to the mine filed. then they sent kids there.
and don't forget about the availability of those
Shi'ite books, you can always call iranian embassy and ask for jihad books. they be happy to inject you with those lies.
Y'all might look for Robert's books, and a bunch more on The Subject, at Books-A-Million if there's one near you. Of course now, I'm way down deep South where "Politically Correct" means voting for your cousin (no inbreeding jokes from the peanut gallery!). That may make a difference in availability.
