White House Agrees Rice Will Testify

More formidable than Mr. Terrorism

The White House has agreed that National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice will testify before the 9/11 Commission.

Richard Clarke is trying to play Cassandra but Newsmax quotes

an audio clip unearthed by Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity and aired on "Hannity & Colmes".

During an interview on Detroit radio station WJR the year before the Clarke briefing, Rice mentioned bin Laden by name, then recommended: "You really have to get the intelligence agencies better organized to deal with the terrorist threat to the United States itself. One of the problems that we have is a kind of split responsibility, of course, between the CIA and foreign intelligence and the FBI and domestic intelligence."

Then, in a chillingly prescient comment, Rice named bin Laden a second time, warning, "There needs to be better cooperation because we don't want to wake up one day and find out that Osama bin Laden has been successful on our own territory."

The lessons of the 9/11 commission ought to be these

A further lesson comes from the Jerusalem Post. Israel has won many battles against terrorism, but has had no long term strategy for winning the war.

Do we?

I just read - sorry; I don't remember where - that the problem with intelligence during Bush's presidency is because there were Clinton holdovers still occupying positions of intelligence. They hadn't been replaced with Bush people. Darn! Wish I could remember where I saw that!

And concerning that last statement, I have to agree. Our government (Israel) doesn't seem to have any real policy in terms of winning this war - and it is a war. Sharon's plan for withdrawing from Gaza will invite even more terrorism. If only the world would wake up and realize what we're facing here and decide that the best thing for the 'palestinians' to do would be to go and live in Jordan. After all, Jordan was created (in 1921) to be the Arab Palestinian State.

Hood Jihadi:If the Palestinians go, there would be no business in Israel for you Jews.
What will you do without USAID for keeping Arabs in constant hunger and darkness so they could sell themselves to US exploitations like cheap petrol?
What is going to happen to all those contributions you have made to the human kind like "anti-Semitism", when people finally see Jews gathered in one big concentration camp called Israel?

What will happen to all those thriving Jewish businesses ventures of helping "terror" victims?

Hoodie, this isn't a rhetorical question, I really want to know. Where do you get your 'news' from.

Hood,
That was the FUNNIEST post I've read here in avery long time. If it was for REAL, then consider the highest form of jihad sacrifice and BL0W YOURSELF UP. Muslims as victims, how sad for you and your people that 1 Billion people have just ONE BRAIN and it came preprogrammed with filthy racist self serving propaganda.
Have a nice day.

A billion Muslims.. one brain.. that is classic!

The lessons of the 9/11 commission ought to be this one too: That the Clinton Administration was not willing to implement effective measures to thwart terrorists. If security of America had been a priority, the planes that crashed on 9/11 would not have been able to do so by BOX CUTTER wielding jihadists. The Clinton Administration undertook the ISLAMIC terrorist problem as a law enforcement one.

"clarke i thought was a registered republican" [Clarke is a RINO...Republican In Name Only...the politcally correct way of saying he is a traitor to that party]

Dr. Rice will dazzle this commission with no problem. She does her job, and does it well. The Dems will certainly not benefit from her testimony.

I like how everyone here is slandering Clarke without any real evidence. Yeah, great job guys. Keep it up.

Slandering Clarke? Excuse me? Who wrote the book? Who said Bush was doing more than the Clinton administration last August? Who gave testimony contrary to the August interview?

Clarke has done a fine job destroying his own credibility. Al Qaeda was responsible for 911 and this political circus is a complete waste of time and money.

It is becoming increasing clear why the founding fathers believed that only property owners should be allowed to vote. The ignorant, uneducated rabble that owns nothing and wants much is destroying this great nation.

Slandering Clarke, I haven't addressed him once. At this time I'm looking at the present and the future, not the past. Besides, I heard his tapes and compared them to his testimonials.

Reminds me of alot of John Kerry type fence riding.

As I have not read the book, I can only judge his past and present public words. He, as does Sen. Kerry, takes both sides of issues, flip flopping, and as D.C. Watson pointed out, rides the rails.

He has entered into ignominy with that other loathsome whistleblower, Linda Tripp, whom I credit with participating in or even initiating the scandal that made this country the world's laughing stock, thus distracting America from real world threats. Terroirists slipped in while all were focused on Monica and you know who and you know what. (This is a family-rated site, I hope. Well, not really. I don't want the discussion to further devolve into x-rated material.)
