If I thought that the hearings would help us formulate a more coherent defense against vioent jihad terrorism, I would be all for it. Instead, it seems more like a brawl on the deck of the Titanic. "What did you know and when did you know-- glub, glub, glub...."
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney spent more than three hours behind closed doors Thursday with the Sept. 11 commission that is charged with finding ways to prevent a repeat of the worst terrorist attack in American history. "I answered every question they asked," Bush said.He declined to disclose details of the Oval Office discussion, saying the commissioners would incorporate his and Cheney's comments in their final report, set for release about three months before the November election.
The president did say the meeting as "very cordial" and the commissioners were "very interested in the recommendations that they're going to lay out, and I'm interested in those as well."
When bad things happen it is quite natural (at least in civilized countries) to review actions taken and not taken, to find out if rules, routines, equipment or individual persons have failed in some way.
Even if current security concerns prevent broadcasting what Bush, Cheney and comission members said at the meeting we have an obligation to history to keep a permanent and precise record of what was said.
Why do we need to know what they said for history? As soon as some wacko gets thier hands on it, itll be re-writen.
Secondly i think that it is important to remember the events of Sep. 11 and i think it is important to know what happened beofore hand but that doesnt mean we need a copy out there that can fall into the enemies hands.
I mean if you and your wife are married, that is important and its important to know what lead up to it for your childerens sake but i doubt they need to know how exactly you consumated the wedding.
Do bother.
Doug:
I would disagree, I do feel it is in the free worlds best, and most noble interest to put our cards out on the table and let the chips fall were they may.
Yes those who are opposed to the actions of President Bush and his administration, and its approach to confronting terrorism will always seek to find fault with every action he takes.
I believe that the decisions this President has taken will stand the test of time in the end.
strange to say mulsims jihad war, when we are unprovoked killing them by the thousands....strange,take off your blinders or your dunce cap

Virginia,
Your enter key is stuck, and your dunce cap is on too tight. I think it is squeezing your brain. Now here is a quiz for you: name one attack in the last 3 years where thousands of people were killed without provocation. I can think of one crisp fall day about three years ago. Can you?
Say goodnight, Virginia...
Mackie:
I do agree that his actions will stand the test of time, however to look into the past to see what was happening before the events took place that horrible day, we would have to look into the cabinets from the years before his administration as well and you and I both know that the facts from before wont come out in the favor of truth. When a proven liar, and war criminal (Kosovo) can skate and still be a God send. The enemies of the state will use any ammunition that they can get their hands on to destroy this administration. They wont attack the previous admins becouse it wont fit their agenda. They will only attack Bush and our Men that are dying in Iraq for us all.
God Bless America and the INFIDELS!!!
"President George Bush grimaced, sighed, rambled and chuckled under his breath on Tuesday, before saying he could not think of a single mistake he had made since the September 11 attacks"
Yet more trickery by Bush.... as I will show;
"The U.S. invasion of Afghanistan has done virtually nothing to prevent future terrorist attacks, and the Iraq war has boosted recruitment efforts of groups such as al-Qaeda."
"The invasion of Iraq, which never had anything to do with fighting terrorism, has provided fresh examples of U.S. brutality for al-Qaeda recruiters"
"Whether or not you agree with the Clinton Administration's actions on terror, they were at least acting on terror. Prior to 9/11, there's no evidence that it was any sort of priority for the Bush Administration"

If the Muslims (everyone on this site know shocked) did more to prevent 9/11, but Bush refused Saudi Arabia to devulge its true story
http://www.guardian.co.uk/september11/story/0%2C11209%2C1008985%2C00.html
Bush refused saying it would be a security breach, later
"90/95% of it would not compromise, in my judgment, anything in national security". said a top official.
Here you have people which this site claims to enjoy Jihad doing more to stop/prevent it than George Bush.

Curious Citizen,
It isn't a problem that people want to look into what happened regarding what Bush knew and when he knew, the problem is the timing of this investigation. Usually, these types of investigations are done after the fact - unless they are a partisan attempt to discredit the other side's authority.
There were similar questions about Pearl Harbor and what FDR knew and when he knew it. The difference between that case and this one is the timing. It is unprecedented to have this sort of an internal conflict at a time of war. Back in WWII, things were as acrimonious as they are today, but Congress and the Senate had the good sense to stow their in-fighting until after the war. That is the difference between then and now. This investigation is a rather blatant attack on the president during war-time status, and opens up new precedents for future behaviour. While some may say this is a good thing, others see it as deplorable politics and nothing more.
Hope that answered the question. :-)
Hey as they say, hindsight is 20/20 vision, and Bush and his administration took decisions under intense pressure to secure the safety of the people of the United States of America, with the evidence of the day, and I still think that given the options, even today, it was still the best option possible.
Consider that 2 of the identified countries of the axis of evil opening up their books and abandoned WMD programs which could asily have been used to supply nuclear arms to terrorists. Look at the action that Pakistan has taken to divulge the "nuclear trade" propagated for years. Would any of these have arisen if not for the very decisive actions that the Bush administration have taken against Afghanistan and Iraq? It would be speculation to second guess the outcomes.
I would just say that the very fact that there is this enquiry attest to the integrity of the western system of government. I can assure that even in the most progressive of Developing countries, Muslim or otherwise, you ain't ever gonna get this level of accountability of the Chief Executive of the nation.
So unless you are able to walk that mile in Bush's shoes, and experience the weight of the responsibility of his decisions, let's not start finger-pointing, and cut the man some slack!! At least he has the strenght of conviction to take action, which is more than what can be said of the rest of the so-called "leaders of the free world"!!!!
Of course, this does comment does not apply to fundamentalist Muslims, nothing any infidel does can amount to any good.......
And to "interested" and "hood monkey", hey there is a war going on in Iraq, despite that the US may have declared that combat is over.
I am sure that the American soldiers involved will be brought to justice by their fellow Americans, but really which Muslim/Iraqi will be bringing those Islamists/Iraqis who executed an innocent Italian, and murdered and mutiliated 4 American servicemen and contractors in Fallujah to justice?
Are you going to justify such barbarism on the grounds that those Iraqis are "freedom fighters" who are on a quest to liberate land and religion from infidels? which amounts to a very chauvinistic supposition that infidels matter less than the enlightened...
Hoodie -
You are ignorant about Christianity as well as Islam. Peter didn't give us an image of the Christian Church. That was Paul's job. Thus, using your system, you should call us "Paulists!" This is an example of why you should be disrgarded…you are ignorant, using all of the definitions. Not only are you ignorant, you are a racist, a baiter, and an instigator. Boo!
I thought that Robert had banned the troll Hood. I find it annoying to have to scroll through his gibberish, unread.
As for "interested", I guess the occasional visit here from a moonbat lefty doesn't hurt. Gotta love those nutty, paranoid leftist-conspiracy URL links!
I quite prefer Reza's posts- he is more articulate, has a decent grasp of English syntax, and represents the unadorned face of islamism. With him, you're looking clearly at the jihadist enemy of Western civilization, folks.
I believe all the Sept 11th hijackers were illegals here. The question is what is the govt doing to send all the illegals back to their land of origin.America has sufficient legal workers & if more are needed let them come in legally . There is no other country in the world that allow illegals to stay in their country illegally.Whatever America does it is still going to be considered an infidel nation envied by most other countries.
I have travelled widely & know how blessed all Americans are. Most people throughout the world envy Americans, the blessings & freedom God has given this nation.Another Sept 11th can be prevented only by watchful citizens keeping their eyes & ears open for there are too many devils in this country waiting for the right opportunity.

Hey,
I come on to this website, hoping to find the article about the torture of the Iraqi prisoners by the American soldiers but I can't find it. Is Robert on holiday?
Doug:
I am sure that the 9-11 commission is thoroughly reaching back through the Clinton Administration years to review what led up to 9-11.
Certainly most of us know by now that the likes of Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaida where emboldened by the fact that Clinton would not respond to attacks such as the first Twin towers attack, Somalia, Kobar Towers, and the USS Cole among many others. His "tit for tat policy" simply convinced the terrorists that America did not have the stomach for war.
The CIA had been severely weakened by the left wing liberal elites that where running the administration and there was no communication between the investigative agencies. That of course is all changing now. The "Patriot act" is still under threat from the left wing democrats and groups like the ACLU.
Of course the most important thing is to learn from the security mistakes that lead up to 9-11, and to continue to make changes that could reduce the risk of another serious terrorist attack.
Ironically the wonderful freedoms our country enjoys is also its greatest weakness when it comes to protecting us from serious terrorist attack(s).
At this juncture in time we cannot afford to have a president that is weak on defense. Every day we hear from the appeasers of an enemy that wants to kill us because we are not of the Islamic faith.God forbid if we make them mad. They continue to put their collective heads in the sand and hope that they will just go away. They will not!
The radical thinking of Waahabists and Salafists has been festering for decades. All one has to do is read the "Hamas" Charter, if you can stomach it and then begin to understand the radical Islamic fundalmentalism that pervades Islam.
Mackie
I know that ill sound like a conspiracy theorist when i say this but i dont care. when 2 or more people gather to comit a crime or make events happen it is called a conspiracy.
The left is the same as communism. that seems to be their altimate goal although not the standard form of communism. an altered one where it is a one world Everything. Christians will never be a part of this and the musslims will never be apart of it unless they and alah reign supreme. So why do the Lefties support them (musslim extremist)? In order to drag us into a war of innihilation and total genocide they need a group that is so hell bent on death to carry out the needs. they dont care who it is they just need "ONE" state religion and islam is the only one that is twisted enough to carry out the killing of innocent People or non-believers or Infidels.
This is why we will never be able to appease them. The people who are in this Global Jihad or mass murder conspiracy are nothing more than sub-human Blood thirsty animals.
I agree with almost everything you have said so far and am glad to know that there are other people out there that reality has sunken into.
Again GOD bless America and the Infidels!
I guess my point to all that is this.
What is happening is bigger than you and me. So the only thing we can do is come on to Christ and remain strong.
Praise GOD! NOT ALAH

hey!...heads up!,Umar -
the difference is
those US soldiers are going to be tried
and punished, based on the evidence against them.
it should be interesting once the trials for the Ba'ath party regulars start up.
the US troops behaviour is unsupportable
in mis-treating prisoners, but that's because the US follows the Geneva Conventions.
despite some lapses in that policy
being blasted in the media at the moment,
the jihadists and the Ba'ath Party
don't even RECOGNIZE the Geneva Conventions.
why don't you try starting there.
I thought that idiot bigot Hood Jihadi was barred from this site. I was getting bored without him on here to slap around......speaking of imposing, tell all your jihadi punks to stop pushing Islam before it results in the end of your cult.
Hood, Umar, Reza, Interested, and all of the rest of you floaters, Take your best shots, they'll fall short, as usual. Reform your cult, or watch it be obliterated, you cannot win.
Do you jihadis all share a one room dump in the slums, pitched in portions of your American welfare checks to get an ISP to share, so you can come online and behave like petite little dorks? Is that how you packers go to be where you are in life?
Pukes. Now Hoodie, go ahead, copy and paste what I typed, then respond under it like you're responding to me, so you can copy and paste again on one of your Jihadi merde sites, trying, to no avail, to look like you're enjoying some sort of triumph..
But, we all know better than that.
Who is Pat Robinson?
No, I know not all black people are on welfare. So, Hood, if you're not, stop acting like you are.
Who said anything about slavery? by the way, does the Koran say somewhere that "negroes" should be treated as slaves? I heard that it does, but I'm asking because I don't know.....If it does say that, Hood, they why in the hell are you down with it? Any true African American MAN would fight to the death not to be enslaved. This "blame the white man" routine doesn't work anymore. It's not the white man.....Now, I'll be a man and admit that racism is wrong, and slavery was also very wrong.
However, if you think Islam will keep you from your imaginary enemy (whites) and keep you from slavery, they've fooled you. Read the Koran, no skimming. Read it Hood.
Reform: I'm talking about total reform of Islam, out of the 7th, and into the 21st century. An Islam that can co-exist with everyone, instead of pissing everyone off.....Reform it, or it will surely be demolished.
Hoodie
I think you'll find you mean "Pat Robertson
Keep up the spelling/grammar lessons...you'll get there eventually.

There are about thirty wars currently happening
in the world. Of that number, 28 are Muslims attacking non-Islamists: East Timorese, Christian Indonesians, Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, Buddhists, etc.
It seems that the religion of peace has become the religion of piece: a piece of leg, a piece of hand, a piece of skull, etc.
Who said I was 'pink'?
Well Hoodie....I went into effort to give you another path to walk down, but seeing your posts since I made this attempt tells me that there won't be any reasoning with you. It appears that you can take the jackass out of the hood, but you just can't take the hood out of the jackass.
What a shame, but since you don't want to look, listen, or learn........uh oh, the gloves are off....
Mr Spencers ban seems to have a leak. Someone left the door open, and a hoodlum came in. Too bad. I have never understood why trolls want to post on boards where their views are not only unaccepted, but totally discredited.
Speaking of womens rights in Islam:
Mr. Bouziane has preached at several mosques in and around Lyon since arriving in France from Algeria in 1979. After a six-month stint in Saudi Arabia, he began preaching at the Vénissieux mosque, an unassuming gray concrete box a block from the town’s largest housing development.
The Interior Ministry issued an expulsion order in February, but did not immediately execute it. Then, in early April, a local publication, Lyon Mag, published an interview with Mr. Bouziane in which he spoke about his support for the Koran’s teaching that adulterous women should be stoned and that it was a man’s right to strike his wife if she was unfaithful.
“He shouldn’t hit her in the face, but aim lower, the legs or stomach,” he said in the interview, adding that a man can hit hard to instill fear in his wife. In the housing projects near Mr. Bouziane’s mosque, a young man with a closely cropped beard said he thought that the cleric had done nothing wrong. “If my wife cheats on me, I have the right to correct her,” he said, “and not just with a slap on the bottom, but with a gunshot.”
more on womens rights. let's ask the imam:
A woman should not leave a home to work except in the event of a dire necessity. If she has to leave the house to teach, then she should leave the home in full Hijaab. She should not teach male baaligh students, neither should she interact or apeak to any other males.
http://islam.tc/ask-imam/view.php?q=10196
The other aspect is of her dressing; wearing of knee length skirt in public for a woman is contrary to the teachings of the Shari’ah. A woman has to be covered from head to toe.
http://islam.tc/ask-imam/view.php?q=10384
According to the Shari'ah, the place of a woman is at home. If she is unmarried, her father has to support and maintain her. If she is married, her husband has to support and maintain her.
http://islam.tc/ask-imam/view.php?q=10353
It is true that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) has mentioned that women have less intelligence than men. This is recorded in Bukhari Shareef. 'I have not seen a person
deficient in intelligence and Deen more able to overcome an intelligent man that you, O women. The women asked, 'What is the deficiency in our intellect and Deen.' Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) replied, 'Is it not that
in testimony, your testimony is half of the man's.' They replied, 'Certainly.' He (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'This is due to your deficient intellect.'
http://islam.tc/ask-imam/view.php?q=9511
No wonder so many western women want to convert.
yabba dabba akbar
I notice that Hoodie's posts have been removed. That's a good thing, for the most part. I suppose I wanted, however, to respond to one of them in which he said something to the effect of the women on the other side picking up guns and shooting at him.
Gee, what an amazing thing! You mean to tell me that there are women out there that don't want to be mutilated, raped and subjugated by Muslim men? There are women who will stand up for themselves and fight against Islamic facism? Unbelievable!
And be sure of one thing, should it come to it, I will be one of those women fighting for my right to be free of the tyranny of the barbarian hordes. I would rather die fighting a free woman than be enslaved by any sadistic Muslim man.
Great post Basil!
I went on the site, heres the Imams answer to the last question on women having half the intelligence of men;
"e.g. women are generally more emotional than men in keeping with
their role of motherhood. In the same light he has granted men more
intelligence than women, in accordance of their role of guardians and overseers over women"
"To accept that Allah Ta'ala has created somebody or something inferior to another, in no way implies that the inferior person or thing is belittled"
Oh really?
And the Imams response to the question being asked in the first place?
"The root of the issue is that you view Islam from a western mindset. Your values and principles lie in the kuffaar way of life.."
Oh well...makes a change from "It's not what it says in the Arabic.."
Paula:
Ditto to your last paragraph. In my state, we have a Conceal and Carry law, so I can be sure I'm armed and ready. (The big guns will have to be left at home!)
