You know, it's pretty sad when people from other African nations who happen to be friends of mine tell me that the Somalians are the most arrogant American haters on the African continent.

Yet, here we are, letting them infest our nation, and act like we're in their way. This is becoming very irritating.

I live in an area with the largect Somali population in the U.S., plus, even though my state is largely rural, several large urban areas dominate state politics in favor of Liberal Democrats over the more conservative rural populace. It's absolutely maddening. What's a person to do?

A year or so ago the Mayor of Lewiston, Maine, alarmed by the huge influx of Somalis into his small, and rather poor town (like many of those factory towns in Maine and New Hampshire along the Merrimac, that lost their factories), spoke rather mildly about how it might be better if Somalis did not make Lewiston, and its very limited resources, their destination. For this all bien-pensants roundly assailed him. How dare he suggest that the natives of Lewiston might have their own interests to consider? And why should anyone doubt in the slightest the sheer wonderfulness of having thousands of Somali immigrants, all of whom were without money and without skills, and who would require expensive training, first in English, and then in the rudimentary skills of a world quite different from that of Somalia, in Lewiston? All the usual clergymen of the interfaith-racket-variety, all the wellmeaning DownEast goodfolk, piled on the poor Mayor. He knew not what he did.

But really, even the quiet hijabbed Somali girl at your local T. J. Maxx, adding up your purchase, or going off for a "price check" on an item -- what does she think? And no matter what she thinks, what about her husband, or her brood at home? Will the presence of her family make American Infidels inhabit a much more diverse and wonderful place, or will they, or some of them, at some point (perhaps not in this, or even the next generation, but in the generation after that), find that the answer to their own problems and distempers is provided by what came in their mental baggage from Somalia -- that is, Islam. And what will then be the cost, the cost of monitoring such people, of wondering about whether or not at some point, in a Manchurian-Candidate-like scenario, one or more of that family's members will be set off, and even the outwardly amiable will become more active in their Jihad? And even if these Somali or other immigrants, do not participate in bombs and guns, their mere presence swells the political power of Muslims, and helps to inhibit political and other kinds of discussion, and to limit the ability of politicians (those, for example, in some parts of Michigan who are so careful to cultivate the Arab vote, if they were to be joined by others elsewhere, could do much damage to measures undertaken to defend us against the Jihad). That Mayor of Lewiston deserved support, not the attacks he received. His main concern was money, of course -- just as the French people who were mildly supportive of the expulsion a few days ago of a an unusually frank and violent imam from Venissieux became inflamed to learn that that imam had, by two wives, a total of sixteen children in France -- all of whom were receiving generous support from the French Infidel taxpayers, the same taxpayers who, often for reasons of economics, deliberately limit the size of their own families. Those in France who cannot be outraged by Muslim behavior toward, for example, kippah-wearing Jews, can be made furious by the thought that they are being forced to pay for the deliberate over-breeding (often, for express purposes of demographic conquest) of Arab and Muslim immigrants.

Who is in charge of our policy on immigration, and why has there been no debate on the actual cost, including the huge and growing security cost, of Muslim immigrants?

I guess I'd be hoping for the speed of time to increase, moving toward the next election, and vote the left out.....

Implicit in thre recent articles on immigration in the Toronto Globe and Mail (self-styled as "Canada's National Newspaper"), by Margaret Wente, Christie Blatchford and Jeffrey Simpson, respectively, these issues have been raised. This would have been taboo only a few years ago. All three journalists have eschewed the PC mantra, and the flood of outraged multi-culti letters to the editor suggests that artciles such as these are heading in the right direction.

I'll wait to see more, but one hopes that public attitudes towards incompatible Third World (read, Muslim) immigration may be negatively swayed by those using the "bully pulpit" of the press to continuously make the case.

Talking about Maine. My family owns a vacation house up there. Nobody ever move to Maine. It has one of the worst drug and alchol problems in the Union, and the state government is terrible. They coddle their citizens way to much and the tax rate is way to big for what the citizens get in return. If not for tourists that state would be one giant forest.

Has anyone noticed the concentration of Muslims in the middle of North America and along the Canadian Border? I wonder if this is a tactic to create a demographic change which could eventually lead to the formation of a North American "stan," essentially separating culturally Anglo-Canada from culturally Anglo-America?

On the American side we have the "hubs" of Michigan, and Maine, and on the Canadian side, we have Quebec and the growing Muslim population Toronto, whose citizens can "zip" back and forth across the border as need be.

Then of course we have gigantic mosques in Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and so on, as well as the bleeding border of the United States with Mexico, bringing in thousands each day. You all can do the math and understand what this means.

If thousands of immigrants can wander in over both borders, usually not at official check points, couldn't it be possible that all kinds of weapons systems are trickling in as well.

FALLUJAH, Iraq (CNN) -- Heavy fire from a U.S. aerial gunship lit up the sky Tuesday night in Fallujah, a hotbed of Sunni Muslim resistance where U.S. Marines have engaged in a two-week standoff with insurgents.

'Dangerous situation' in Najaf
U.S. forces have killed 64 Iraqi insurgents in fighting near the Shiite Muslim holy city of Najaf, a U.S. military spokesman said Tuesday.

About 2,500 U.S. troops are poised outside Najaf, where an uprising led by anti-American Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr began three weeks ago.

Attacks and raids have been reported throughout Iraq over the last 24 hours, including the killing of a U.S. soldier in Baghdad's Sadr City and four people who attacked a patrol in central Iraq's Diwaniyah, a military spokesman said.

In a statement Monday, L. Paul Bremer, the U.S. administrator in Iraq, said a "dangerous situation" exists in Najaf.

"Weapons are being stockpiled in mosques, shrines and schools," Bremer said. "This explosive situation cannot be tolerated by those who seek a peaceful resolution to this crisis."

Coalition spokesman Dan Senor said weapons must be removed from holy sites and schools immediately -- and if they were not, "further steps may have to be taken."

He said places of worship "are not protected under the Geneva Conventions in the event of military action, if they are used as bases for operations and bases to store weapons and other tools of violence."

Al-Sadr is wanted for questioning in the killing of a rival cleric last year.

U.S. officials have said they want to capture or kill him, but there have been ongoing talks to defuse the possibility of fighting between U.S. troops and al-Sadr's militia in Najaf.

I would like for people to stop referring to Islam as a religion and start referring to it as a political movement. For that is what Islam truly is. The minute Islam is no longer viewed as a religion is the time when people will wake up to the threat it poses to the U.S. and Europe. Until that time Islam will be protected here and it will become very powerful within the U.S. under the guise of religion. CAIR is the most blatant attempt of the muslim political movement to gain power and legitimacy. CAIR and organizations like it must be stopped.

I have also recently come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a Moderate Muslim. That phrase is pure fiction, a fairy tale, maybe even created out of Western fear that there must be moderate muslims, because if not, we're in for one heck of a war. But it's true, there are no moderate muslims who want to assimilate into American society. What people don't realize is that "moderate muslim" really means: "One who isn't willing to strap a bomb on his/her back for the islamic political movement, yet who supports destruction of the host society."

However, those "moderates" are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the day Sharia law rules America. So in a relative sense they are moderate, but only moderate relative to the sickey who will die for the cause. Meanwhile, the moderates sit back, reproduce, and wait until their numbers have swelled to such an extent that they become the majority and are able to impose their will on the new society.

Actually not a real Mainiac but from "away" orginially, and I live about an hour north of Lewiston. I remember the flap about the Somalis, and the poor mayor in Lewiston got the short end of the stick and did not seek reelection. They were arriving in large numbers from Georgia, and he was just doing his job to protect the financial stability of the city by asking them moderate the migration. There was alot of the we'll come to your town to show your our culture thing; but that was only in the first few months cause nobody showed up, and haven't heard a word since. Did strike me odd about comments that they were opening businesses and attending college etc.; kind of makes you wonder where the money came from but figured it was Uncle Sam.
