Who set this fire?

You know, it doesn't really matter to me who set this fire. I never thought that in my lifetime, in a Western country, Jewish synagogues and libraries would be burned. Many of us in the West are in a state of denial about this epidemic of Jew-hatred that's spreading everywhere. Academic and diplomatic circles are debating the right of Israel to exist, and openly support terrorists who want to wipe Israel off the map. This is only going to get worse.

Let's hold a rally, let's light candles, let's write letters to the editors, let's all sing "Kumbayah". Let's all feel better--until the next attack.

In a foolish spirit of Francophone solidarity, and to boost the number of native speakers of French, the Parti Quebecquois some time ago passed legislation in Quebec which gave preferential treatment to immigrants from supposedly francophone North Africa. In other words, European immigrants, from such places as Italy and Greece (who tended to identify culturally, linguistically, and politically with the English speakers of Westmount) were in distinct disfavor; Muslims from Algeria and Morocco, on the other hand, began arriving, and were welcomed, in dangerous droves. Linguistic chauvinism trumped the loyalty that was owed to other members of Western civilization. Ahmed Ressam, he of the foiled Millennium Plot, is one result. The mobs that shouted down Netanyahu at Concordia are another. And the American tourists who are filled with justified unease at the visible and growing presence of Muslim Arabs all over Montreal, especially in such precincts as Concordia, and the all-night depanneurs and louche clubs, will eventually vote with their feet and their tourist dollars. There are other Francophones such as the Maronites, who have long resisted, and also suffered,Muslim assault; they too, as immigrants to Canada, cannot be filled with delight at this policy which favors maghrebins over non-Muslim Italians, Greeks, and Latin Americans.

Will the French-speaking Canadians realize that the fact of having studied the same parley-voo means very little; shared ideals, shared cultural assumptions, are far more important. If Francophone immigrants are to be favored, the provincial government in Quebec should ensure that those Francophones not be from the Maghreb. Let them be anything else, as long as they do not come with Islam in their mental baggage, which makes it unlikely they will ever give their full loyalty to the nation-state of Canada, and makes it highly likely that the position of non-Muslims becomes ever more insecure as the percentage of Muslims in the population rises.

If the francophone preference is not jettisoned outright, then at least choose those francophones from the Maronites, those Copts who may have studied French, or Togolese, or Haitians, and -- as this source of immigration rises in the next decades, as Europeans attempt to flee the Muslim tide of Occuped Europe ("Eurabia") -- Belgians and French immigrants as well. They will not flee from France, by then, in 2010 or 2020, Muslim-torn, to settle in Quebec if it too, by that time, has a large Muslim population. Instead, they will prefer to settle among the anglophones of the Atlantic, prairie and western provinces. Surely this flight from Quebec, is not what French-speaking Canadians wish to encourage?

We can already see, with this arson attack on an elementary school, that the security of Canadian Jews has been diminished by this influx of Muslim Arabs. One presumes that no Western country would knowingly allow a group of fanatical white supremacists, whose entire worldview had been formed by their inculcated hatred for blacks, their burning desire to subjugate and humiliate and dominate them, , would be allowed, still less encouraged, to enter America and Canada as landed immigrants. It would not be fair to the black populations of those countries. Why then do the authorities believe that it is perfectly permissible to allow, or even encourage, a flow of Muslim immigrants whom, all polls suggest, carry a burning antisemitism with them, as well as a more muted hatred of Hindus and Christians -- indeed, of all non-Muslims. Is this to be ignored? Not discussed? Too unpleasant to even raise the subject? Why? We cannot allow further entry to carriers of a certain germ -- the disease of antisemitism, the disease of Jihad, the disease of the wish to inflict dhimmitude, to use conversion and subversion within the Bilad al-kufr, to have Islam "dominate and not be dominated." But why then are Muslims allowed in, carrying Jew-hatred, if those hypothetical groups of fanatical white supremacists would be kept out -- and rightly? Do the governments of North America recognize no duty to protect its loyal citizens, from what poisons others, incapable of such loyalty, and viewing these new countries as places only to eventually conquer (no matter how fantastic the possibility may now seem), will bring hidden, or obscured, in their mental baggage?

It is a pity that many otherwise amiable Canadians continue to define themselves as "not" as in "not Americans." As a consequence, with America now the chief target, and most powerful foe, of the world-wide Jihad, Canadians find themselves, as "not Americans," delibertely pooh-poohing the Islamic threat, and mocking the clumsy American colossus. Easy to do, lots of fun. Just turn on American television, and have a good laugh. But Canadians, and especially those in Quebec, should be reminded that the Europeans bitterly regret having allowed so many Muslims into their countries -- and few can regret it more than the French. This regret is based on a real fear of losing their own country, their own mores, their own freedoms, their own decencies. It is not an American invention. Their cousins-germains in France would ask the French Canadians to consider carefully their own example.

And of course, when in coming years and decades, French-speakers (including French-speaking Jews) seek refuge from Muslim-torn Europe, the first place they may look for such refuge will be Quebec. They will be disappointed, and chagrined, if they find there a large Muslim population -- the very thing they had fled from in Europe. And would it not be ironic if, at that point, those talented francophone refugees settled, instead, in the English-speaking provinces or, still more ironically, in the country of boors and Bible-thumping boors to Canada's south.

Sentimental visits to a charcuterie hebraique on St.-Laurent, literary folklore by way of Mordechai Richler about Jewish Montreal, all those rememberings about the unforgettable bagels and smoked meat, are all very fine, but what would be finer still, would be the sympathetic realization that Islamic immigrants are a threat, in the immediate physical as well as in other senses, to Canadian Jews (and eventually to non-Jews as well). A society that prides itself on tolerance and multiculturalism has been hellbent on inviting into its midst adherents of a belief-system that does not, for one minute, allow for Western notions of tolerance, that rejects Western pluralism, as it does free thought, the rights of the individual concience, and of the worth of any history, culture, or beliefs other than its own. Islam "must dominate and must not be dominated." Also sprach Muhammad, and every Muslim theologian and writer after him. All of Muslim history, a history of Jihad and dhimmitude imposed on the conquered peoples, confirms this.

So when you, members of the Parti Quebecquois, consider your immigration policy, please mind your P's and Q's. Quebec is much more than quelques arpents de neige, as you well know. It deserves to be kept safe for its loyal inhabitants, for foreign visitors, and for future refugees from, and victims of, the Muslim demographic, and intellectual, conquest of Western Europe.

Hmm. A French-speaking Muslim province in the middle of Canada. Shades of India. This is not a tiny beachead, this huge bunker from which radicals can send out marauders, the "Saudi Arabia" of the north.

This can not stand. I hope it's not too late.

B’nai Brith Canada condemns arson attack on Quebec Jewish school – calls on governments to increase security at Jewish institutions

April 5, 2004

Toronto - B'nai Brith Canada today condemned the arson attack on a Jewish school in the Montreal suburb of St Laurent and called on all levels of government to do more to protect Jewish institutions.

"We acknowledge and appreciate the condemnation by politicians of all backgrounds of the recent upsurge in antisemitism in Canada and their expressions of solidarity with the Jewish population, but words are meaningless if not accompanied by action," said Frank Dimant, Executive Vice President of B'nai Brith Canada.

In a meeting with the Prime Minister and Justice Minister March 29, Dimant called for a national initiative to ensure that all Jewish institutions can afford to protect themselves and their clients.

“This is something that we will be following up vigorously over the next few weeks,” said Dimant. "It is our sense from discussion that we already have had that the government recognizes the prohibitive costs of security being imposed on the Jewish community. They must now act to address the problem. Unless they do, I fear that it is only a matter of time until something even more serious occurs.”

I made the mistake of tuning into that vapid bimbo Shelagh Rogers on her morning show on the Ceeb. And, lo and behold, she had a piece on this outrage.

And, true to form, the CBC had its moral equivalency on full display. Interview with a few local Jewish kids (basically, "never again". Montreal JDL, anyone?).

Then, cut to an interview with a few Muslim students. And out came the unchallenged assertions of "racism" against Muslims.

For its own survival, Western civilization had better not be swayed by this classic red herring.
Racism is wrong. Countering islamism opposing dhimmitude is not racism. No surprise that this sort of muddied thinking came out of the CBC- and that twit Rogers happily prattled away with the journalist responsible, never asking (or, more likely, knowing to ask) the hard questions.

Of particular note and concern to me, the journalist breezily, in passim, dropped the bombshell that the last census revealed that there are now more Muslims in Montreal than Jews. To Quebec's Jewry: BE AFRAID...

Dammit, missed the "and" between islamism and opposing. Sorry.

I must commend Hugh on his eloquent and persipient essay. I suffer from acute anxiety precipitated by the rampant epidemic of ignorance and denial about Islam and Muslims. This epidemic has spread from Europe to Canada and the United States, imported by immigrant Muslims. Our illustrious leaders refuse to acknowledge Islam's insidious, inimical doctrine of hate. The left-wing multi-culturalists are enraptured by the dream of a future West ruled by Shariah, dominated by Muslims. As Canada, and soon probably the U.S., arrests indigenous citizens for speaking the truth about Islam, charging them with "inciting hatred", the Muslims are stealthily pursuing their diabolical agenda, raising "charitable" donations for terrorists, and working tirelessly to destroy our governments and societies. And the citizenry are either oblivious, apathetic, or spewing politically-correct dialogues and screaming "bigots!" "racists!" "Nazis!" at those of us who are desperately trying to stop this pernicious plague before it spreads beyond control.
Why are we allowing muslims to invade our countries, subvert our liberties, impose their obscene, archaic culture on us? Why do we tolerate their incessant demands for "Islamic freedom" and their inexorable complaints of persecution and Islamophobia?
Canada may need to populate it's vast, empty spaces but the U.S. does not. Third world immigrants do little to enhance a first world nation (I know,that statement is the ultimate faux pas) but nonetheless, it is true. If humanitarian concern motivates the Canadian government to invite unfettered third world immigration to Canada, how do they justify illiterate, unskilled, unemployable, religious fanatics who also hate Western culture, Jews and Christians? If tens of thousands of these immigrants go directly on the welfare rolls to be supported by the state, how does this "help" Canada?
Canada and the U.S.both have "leapt before looking" and I fear some dark days lie ahead, compliments of our insane immigration policies.

Dear neighbors to the North:
Wake up and smell the vinegar! Canada now has more Muslims than Jews. The Muslims speak of Islam being a tolerant and peaceful religion yet I pose a few questions: (1) Why is it that 90% of terrorist acts committed globally in the past 50 years have been committed by Muslims? (2) Why is it that 90% of the world's refugees are fleeing Islamic countries? (3) Why is it that anti-semitism increases as a direct function of Muslim immigration? I maybe pull my figures out of a hat, but I venture to say that they are not far off. I daresay that Canada's borders are more porous than America's. A nation with porous borders is a nation without borders, and a nation without borders is in danger of ceasing to be a nation.
