My old college roomie Dave just sent me this cartoon from The New Yorker. Good ol' Dave. He was always the funny one.
Of course, many real people think the way the folks in the hot tub in this cartoon think. Some of them are not in hot tubs, but in the State Department. However, the unfortunate truth is, of course, that many of those Islamic fundamentalists know us quite well, and they still don't like us.
Sure, their press is full of lies and hysteria. Absolutely. But the global jihad proceeds according to its own principles. I explain them in Onward Muslim Soldiers. Committed mujahedin will never be mollified by any amount of good will or economic aid or anything else from the West. They are dedicated to the proposition that no non-Sharia government has any right to exist, and that Allah commands that all non-Sharia governments must be fought. As the principal obstacle to this, we are directly in the line of fire. There are two possible outcomes as far as they are concerned: death, or victory. Not negotiations, peaceful coexistence, and mutual understanding.
The sooner the Western world understands the sinister mentality of the Jihadist and the institutionalized hatred of the Islamic " educational " system, the quicker it could marshal the political will to put an end to the Islamic reign of terror.
They persue their inane goals , that include ethoncide of large segments of the worlds population, on the hope that the West is too foolish to exert it's power to stop them. Or in short we are just too weak. The longer we allow them to continue their reign of terror uncontested the more we validate their delussions.

Actually it was La Rabbia that inspired me to investigate and buy Robert's "Onward Muslim Soldier" book of whoch i later bought more copies to pass on to fraends.

Just try saying that about Islam on any college campus in America--and somebody on the liberal looney left will label you a "racist bigot" of some such.
IMO, the world should allow overtly islamist regimes to take hold in muslim countries. A fanatical muslim bloc, from Morocco to Indonesia, could be contained and exploited to our ultimate advantage.
Muslim nation-state 'reservations' could be isolated politically and economically from the rest of the world. Indigenous non-muslim populations of these countries would surely wish to emigrate rather than endure their dhimmi status. At the same time, an expulsion of muslims from the rest of the world could take place, as a sort of quid pro quo population exchange (much like the Greeks and Turks have done).
Within time, these muslim reservations would steadily decline at the hand of the mullahs and sharia. A multitude of talibanistans, festering in their jealousy and hatred of the rest of the world, will produce a choice of favorable outcomes:
1) islam would be forced from the inside to undergo a reformation redefining the religion, removing the political aspect and breaking the power of the clergy. The masses, tired of failure, would overthrow the yolk of islam and make amends to gain acceptance into the world community.
or more likely...
2) The theocratic muslims states may finally build up the confidence to match their words and declare open jihad on the rest of the world. Armies of ghazis and mujahideen would pour forth to their deaths in a desperate attempt against the combined military might of the non-muslim world. Total war would be brought to islam, breaking the muslim capacity and will to fight. Surrender must be forced through capitulation. Islam would be erased from the landscape and treated as a dangerous outlaw ideology (much like nazism is today). Only then could those former muslim states be rebuilt and reintegrated into the world community.
These proposed possibilities are of colossal proportion, on the scale of world-wide revolution or war – a massive turning point in the history of the world. It would require an unprecedented unified political will and recognition of the threat of islam. One way or another, islam will be brought to an apex that will determine its future on this planet: make peace or face annihilation.

I understand that Fallaci insists on a translation into english done by herself, so I think this good thing will take its time. And as I`ve already told You american guys: Living here in Europe, the whole situation is twice as ugly and Fallaci`s book very depressing because it is so full of truth.
