Moussaoui, the "20th hijacker"
Some interesting revelations: the CIA says that Zarqawi himself, the notorious Al-Qaeda operative in Iraq, killed Nick Berg. Also, the FBI questioned Berg in 2002 after his computer password was found in the possession of Zacarias Moussaoui. It's strange, and stranger still with Berg's father saying of the murderers, "They did not know what they were doing. They killed their best friend."
A CIA official said Thursday that U.S. intelligence officials have concluded that terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was, in "high probability," the person shown on a video beheading American Nicholas Berg, based on an analysis of the voice on the video.The speaker on the video, now believed to be al-Zarqawi, reads a lengthy statement criticizing Islamic scholars and taunting the crusaders. Standing alongside four other militants wearing headscarves and masks to disguise themselves, al-Zarqawi then kills Berg.
Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, told reporters Thursday in Baghdad that it appears al-Zarqawi was responsible. The U.S. military has already posted a $10 million reward for Zarqawi for having orchestrated some of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Iraq.
Initially, Berg's murder seemed to be a case of an eccentric young American who was in the wrong place at the worst possible time -- just as the revelations of American mistreatment of iraqi prisoners were coming to light.
But CBS News National Security Correspondent David Martin reports on what is turning into a bizarre mystery with a connection to 9/11.
U.S. officials say the FBI questioned Berg in 2002 after a computer password Berg used in college turned up in the possession of Zaccarias Moussaoui, the al Qaeda operative arrested shortly before 9/11 for his suspicious activity at a flight school in Minnesota.
The bureau had already dismissed the connection between Berg and Moussaoui as nothing more than a college student who had been careless about protecting his password.
But in the wake of Berg's gruesome murder, it becomes a stranger than fiction coincidence -- an American who inadvertently gave away his computer password to one notorious al Qaeda operative is later murdered by another notorious al Qaeda operative.
First...Berg was not killed for the sins of an American administration....
He was killed by the ignorance of a leftist media hungry for ratings, CBS wears his death like a shroud! Would Berg have been murdered if they had NOT published those pictures? Nope...The news of prison abuse broke in January and we did not see any beheadings!
Secondly, I do not think we have heard the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth from anyone involved here...including Bergs family. This "Berg" water may run much deeper than we now know.
It seems likely that Berg comes from one of those super liberal Jewish families that have gone so far left that they are anti-US anti-Jew and anti-Israel. This seems likely from the comments of his father. His sympathy for the enemy seems to have led to his demise in the same tradition as the purges of Lenin & Stalin...
Now that the conspiracy experts are filling the websites with CIA and Massad plots of stageing
the beheading. There are two video tapes of this event,I saw the longer version and believe me there's lots of blood and no break in the filming
as doubters use to claim it's fake.
For all those medical experts out there please explain to the skeptics that when the brain gets starved of blood it dies,some post-mortum spasms can occur but the idea the heart squirts out blood until the body is empty is a lame example for accusing fakery.
I may be mistaken but I think Nick Berg was supporting the War On Terror. His father is the liberal, child of the 60's type, not Nick.
I condole the Bergs for the loss of their son.
That said, Michael Berg's comment that "they" lost their best friend shows how insulated he and so many others are from reality. The common Iraqis indeed lost a friend. Al-Qaeda has no dhimmi friends, just targets.
I understand Mr Berg feels the need to lash out and blame someone for the death of his son but how convoluted can our thinking be to blame ourselves for the brutality visited upon us.
Frankly I'm shocked as I thought we were in this huge wallow in our victimization culture where being a victim is the highest lifeform one can attain. Now for elements of this society to turn this back so the victims are the reason for their victimization is well...shocking.
We didn't fly the planes into the WTC and Pentagon and field no matter what they say on certain conspiracy websites, that was Al-Qaeda. And our government didn't kill Nick Berg, that was Al-Qaeda. Oops! Them again. We have the tape to prove it.
Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. there is more to this story. The truth is not completely out yet. This is more than coincidence.
I would not be surprised to learn that Berg is another Adam Shaprio. A quisling, who gave and comfort to the enemy. it will not be the first time or the last that the FBI has cleared someone who should have been found guilty.
I find it highly suspicious that a solitary "businessman" is running around alone in one of the world's most dangerous trouble spots.
It is the height of audacity for be angry at President Bush. he should be most angry with himself for raising a son who was an Arab sympathizer and went to help Al-Qaeda.
I found another strange coincidence in the Nick Berg case unexpectedly while searching for “berg moussaoui” on Google.
Another Berg has some connection (at least legally) to Moussaoui.
What, if any, is the connection of Nick Berg of Philadelphia, and Philip J Berg, Philadelphia lawyer who is suing the administration http://www.911forthetruth.com/ over 9-11? I was unable to discover if the two are related.
Moussaoui apparently links the two, at least by coincidence. Note that Moussaoui is a defendant in Philip Berg’s case and used Nick Berg’s email address at the University of Oklahoma according to FoxNews. Coincidence, or could something else be going on?
I am not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch, but doesn’t this seem a little odd? If these two Bergs are related, there are a number of other questions that one might ask, particularly whether Philip J Berg had anything to do with Nick Berg goin to Iraq. Philip Berg is a Dem activist according to a number of websites.
Any thoughts?
