Time reports that the FBI has sent a bulletin to law enforcement agencies, warning that individual suicide bombers may attempt to strike inside the United States.
Law enforcement professionals should be on the alert for "people wearing heavy, bulky jackets on warm days, smelling of chemicals, trailing wires from their jackets" and should know that "suicide bombers may disguise themselves in stolen military, police or firefighter's garb, or even as pregnant women."
Note the last paragraph:
In fact, U.S. analysts are at a loss to explain why the homeland has thus far escaped such attacks, since a number of extremist groups, particularly Hamas, have a sizeable presence here. One factor, officials say, is that terror leaders still regard America as a cash cow, and don't want to antagonize moderate Muslim donors. Another reason, says one specialist, may simply be that while there seems to be an endless supply of fanatical youths willing to die for the cause in the Middle East, most of them simply can't get visas to the U.S.
Thank God those fanatical youths who are willing to die for the Middle East can't get visas. We have enough people here that shouldn't be, those who wish to do only harm not live an honorable, peaceful life. To disguise yourself as a pregnant woman just to kill yourself and others really is sickening. This of course just goes to show how they are not honorable, have no clue and just need to go back to wherever it is they came from originally. My patience is beginning to run out.
9-11 was a sucker punch, Muslims. Any more attacks on America, especially inside America, will most likely bring a whole new meaning to the word retaliation.

Surprised this article didn't attract more posts... After 9/11, I heard more than one person say that America could become like Israel, with suicide (scratch that, homicide,) bombers hitting easy targets. I pray it never comes here.
But if it does, it will wake us up out of our sleepiness. We can take a lesson from the Israelis, I think. They are highly disciplined people, vigilant to what threatens them. Yet they still maintain a high standard of living and the only democracy in the Middle East.
As was posted already, I also hope these people will not be able to get visas. 9/11 should have taught us this.
I have to add that, as a Christian, I pray this will wake up our sleeping churches to what Islam teaches, and what we would face under it. Few people in our pews realize what "dhimmitude" is.

We have probably already suffered from the most successful terrorist Jihad campaigns in US history and we do not even recognize it as such. I read the book entitled Sniper...it was terrible, they described in minute detail each shooting and what damage the bullet caused in each victim. If anyone felt sorry for the kid they should read that book...how he laughs about how the people fell when he shot them, how he was going to shoot a pregnant woman at the funeral of one of the victims but a police helicopter was in the area and it was too risky, how police found a list of places they were planning to shoot at in the car which included several elementary schools and one school for severly handicapped students...the jist of the book was john mohammads relationship with his wife and children..he really wanted to kill her and had tracked her down to the DC area...the kid rang the doorbell of johns wifes cousin and shot the teenage daughter when she answered the door thinking it was the wife(in atlanta if i remember)...its possible that he was doing the shooting because he was an islam convert, but it seems he was just crazy...he never said that he did any of the shooting in the name of islam...and we know how much those nutbars like to spout that allah crap as they are killing people...but anything is possible.
I'm afraid USAgirl is probably on target(pun intended) with her analysis of the carnage that may ensue against anyone with olive skin when these suicide attacks begin. Unfortunately, most Americans can't tell an Arab Muslim from an Inuit Eskimo, and I'm afraid that anyone with an ethnic background from Athens to Anchorage runs the risk of becoming a target for ignorant vigilantes.
When -- I'm past beleiving it is a matter of if -- suicide bombers start attacking American civilians, there is going to be a massive run on gun stores by people who don't know a carbine from a canteen, and its going to get ugly.
I don't think pouring a deluge of highly-stressed, undertrained first-time gunowners into the streets is a great idea, especially in densely populated urban areas rife with situational paranoia. In rural areas, people grow up around guns and it won't be much of an issue. By and large, my buddies the "Bubbas" know what they are doing.

Many have commented on the threat to people with olive skins, if suicide bomber attacks take place in the US. But what if the attacks were done by 'White' or 'Black' Muslim converts? They are afterall, the most rabidly fanatical of all, as they have something to prove. Moreover, as Muslims tend to live in their own communities, the victims of retaliations would, by and large, be Arab Christians or Hindus and Buddhists. The whole vigilante business will become total chaos, with innocents being the main victims.
No I dont think that such vigilantism would occur in the US. It is too settled a democracy. Besides, the US government would declare martial law and put the National Guard and regular troops on the streets.
I'm afraid other means have to be thought of, that is intelligent and secures the goals of this war ie a complete neutering of Islam's Jihad ideology.

If/when these attacks begin on home-soil an Israeli attitude towards dealing with them needs to be taken. Then Israelis are constantly condemed for there retaliations for suicide bombings and such-like but all the human-rights fans should ask themselves the question what would we do if it were our own freinds and family who were the victims of these insane killers. They need the message drilling into them that if they start killing innocent civilians on our own soil thecosts for them will be much, much higher andmake them think twice. I'd have to agree with almost all of the points raised here. We are open on our south border,(always have been, nothing against the fine BP agents) we just don't have the agents in place to deal with the mindset of jerks willing to die, just to kill a few of us at a time.

Unfortunately, the public perception of a suicide bomber that the media has pounded into our heads is that of someone of Arabic background. Granted, black Muslims and white muslims will also run the risk of being targeted if they make themselves known, but it is much easier from them to change clothes and blend in with the general population.
Unlike Michael Jackson, most of us don't have the luxury of changing our race.

This analysis highlights the nature of terror cells in terms of a squad with some other common group characteristic than what one might expect. e.g. They don't go around wearing Osama T-shirts. We (everyone in the U.S.) must become cognizant of our neighbors and surroundings so that secret organizations, if not more difficult to conduct, at least become more evident. Ample machineries exist to suppress terrorism in this country. We just need to get better at discovering it and the simplest way to do that is by talking to people around you. Feel them out, get to know them. Death cults can't withstand the light of social interaction.

What's obvious to us as Americans, especially those of us who either are men or live in the country, is not obvious to the Jihadists. Legal issues aside, the reality is that we don't have any to spare at the moment.
whistling dixie is right; the good ole boys may be currently distracted by their redneck pasttimes, but when the jihadists unleash the homicide bombers, look out! I don't know anyone in my neck of the woods, male or female, who can't handle a gun. We learn gun safety and proficiency at a very early age. While the savage jihadists were being inculcated with venomous hatred and dreams of martyrdom, we were learning how to defend ourselves. I used to believe that I could not shoot another human being regardless of the circumstances, although I have a dead aim and the ability to reload with great speed. I could do it without compunction now, all I need is a psychotic muslim target. It wouldn't faze me to blow out the brains of a rabid jihadist. I sincerely believe that our only hope for survival is to kill them before they kill us. Rehabilitation is impossible, even if all the madrassas were locked down today. I fear for our children; their enemy is far deadlier and determined than ours was. I derive a little peace of mind from having taught them what I was taught, and I am confident that they will never resort to violence except to defend themselves. I hope they never have to do it, but it comforts me to know they are capable.
Americans are not inclined to engage in vigilanteism, but if our security is compromised and law enforcement cannot control muslim attacks, anything could happen.

While the National Guard can be called up by state governments in times of emergencies to assist civilian authorities, they are not recognized at any level of government as law enforcement.

They include: sketches of Saddam Hussein as protector, Elijah Muhuammed as a prophet, Kadafi as liberator, sketches of happy, unsuspecting Jewish men with exaggerated noses and references to Allah as his true redeemer and judge, among other things...some WWWIII musings.
Malvo's worldview seems to share many features with Islamic radicalism and I have seen absolutely nothing in the media explaining this.

A last thought:
Malvo himself appears in one sketch with John Mohammed as his loving father. This demented young man obvioulsy loved and admired him. What better way to capture the heart of a troubled young man than provide a sense of belonging, a family, a cause, a world that makes sense, that includes WWIII and the fight to the death. (Above Sadddam Hussein appears "Kill 'em all")
And why the silence on Mohammed's part? Would claiming the murders in the name of Islam help or hurt the ultimate 'cause', that Malvo at least seems to understand in some way. Is Mohammed's silence in some sense a continuation of the Jihad in his mind? Would Allah be displeased if Mohammed acted in a way as to damage ultimate victory?
John Mohammed is certainly more rational than Malvo, and Malvo at the very lest, is capable understanding relationships in a hateful ideology.

Welcome Ralph. Proud to know it. It may come down to us Bubbas having to defend ourselves and our loved ones. Again, welcome.
In my family, we have men in Iraq, in the police dept., in the FBI and everyone of them have repeated the same thing over and over again, which is to make sure that you have something to defend yourself with.
My nephew in the Marines, stationed in Iraq, wouldn't give exact details, but he said that if the American public knew what they found as far as detailed plans for future acts of terrorism in the U.S., we would all be up in arms and demanding the deportation of all Muslims.
My uncle, with the FBI, has said, there are active cells here, they have recovered detailed information on sites that were chosen for attack and these sites were not the big cities or the most popular tourist attractions, they were too well guarded and prepared now.
These sites were middle sized cities and targets that were not as ready and still had a sizable population.
My father and brother are cops, and they will not go to the mall or other attractions, such as carnavals, fairs, etc.
We're in the mid-west and they get alerts all the time.
It's just a matter of time before something happens here and when it does every mosque will become a target.
We are a pretty peace loving people as a whole until our families are harmed or our way of life threatened, then as someone else stated, the "Bubbas" will come out.
Scary....I've got an uncle who was just promoted to Colonel who works at the pentagon and he called home saying to get armed.
Most of my family and friends and my whole community for that matter are fairly well armed and well trained int he use of firearms. I would strongly recommend that everyone here follow suit.
There needs to be contingency organization in every community and I don't see this happening at all. I think everyone here has a duty to get in touch with their local militia and do their best to give a seminar on the threats your community faces due to islamofascism.

Please let's (USA) remeber that the UK, Australia, and now Canada have had their right to keep and bear arms revoked. They are helpless to protect themselves. We in America are losing ground where our 2nd Ammendments rights are concerned. We can not have our 1st Ammendment rights without our 2nd. And, our elected officials, for the most part, would take away or water them down to the point of no Bill of Rights.
Since the USA is armed - I think that any invading or conquering force that atempts any ill-will on our citizenry will meet with demise.
Kerry and his Cohorts are voting (not speaking) to remove our right to keep and bear arms. And where the legislation is failling the Courts of this fine Country are adjudicating our rights away. Keep in mind that the trial lawyers and local governments are taking the firearm industry to court over the criminals use of their product. These non-patriots are trying to destroy and bankrupt the firearms industry by frivolous litigation - and they know it. It's too bad the youth of America is so disconcerned with what is happening politically around the country.

That comment points out a significant problem with the media's (and thus, the public's) fixation upon "al Qaeda" and "bin Laden" as the enemy.
Most Westerners lack a basic understanding of how Islamic terrorism works. They've been fed the idea that bin Laden is sitting in a cave someplace, using a satellite phone to personally direct operations around the world, like the villain from a James Bond movie. If only we can kill or capture him, they think, our problems will all be over.
This idea is utter nonsense. While he is a real person, and does personally command some forces, bin Laden's real function is to serve as the Islamic terror movement's "Uncle Sam."
At least 90% of the actions taken worldwide in the name of al Qaeda are committed by "freelance" terrorists, who then issue some sort of grandiose "communique" in which they label themselves as an al Qaeda "cell." Bin Laden usually learns about these attacks the same way the rest of us do, which is by watching CNN.
In short, there is no such thing as a "card-carrying member of al Qaeda."

On March 22, 2004 the Israelis assassinated the Muslim religious leader, Sheik Ahmed Yassin. After a morning prayer service, the 67 year-old sheik, a quadriplegic, was leaving a mosque in Gaza, in his wheelchair, when he was murdered by an Israeli in a US-supplied helicopter gunship who fired a missile at Yassin on orders of Ariel Sharon.
Sheik Yassin was imprisoned for nine years by the Israelis and only released as part of a quid pro quo involving a botched, 1997 assassination attempt by the government of Binyamin Netanyahu on a Hamas diplomat in Jordan, Khalid Meshal (the Israeli Mossad had tried to spray poison in his ear with a high tech weapon).
The murder of Yassin is an act of state terror guaranteed to provoke more of the suicide bombings the Israeli government thrives upon: "This is worse than a crime, it is an act of stupidity," veteran Israeli peace activist Uri Avnery told Britain's "Guardian" newspaper. "This is the beginning of a new chapter of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It moves the conflict from the level of a solvable national conflict to the level of religious conflict, which by its very nature is insoluble."
Avnery described the assassination of Sheik Yassin as the act of Israel's "bankrupt political and military leaders" who were trying to cover up their failures by a catastrophic escalation. "This act will not only endanger the personal security of every Israeli, both in the country and around the world, but also the existential security of the state of Israel. It has grievously hurt the chances of putting and end to the Israeli-Palestinian, Israeli-Arab and Israeli-Muslim conflicts," Avnery said.
But Avnery's opinion is the minority view among Israelis. In an article titled, "Israel defiant over Yassin killing," the BBC reported on March 22 that, "soundings of Israeli opinion taken by various media suggest most Israelis welcome the assassination" of the Muslim religious leader.
The murder serves the interests of the Bush administration which seeks to impose a police state in the US under the pretext of a "war on terror" which Bush administration policies deliberately inflame. The Israeli assassination of Sheik Yassin is widely believed to have been carried out with US approval. Palestinians have until now mostly avoided targeting US personnel or facilities. But that may change, and the Palestinians may play into Bush's hands.
In a statement attributed to Hamas, the Muslim guerrillas declared, "The Zionists didn't carry out their operation without getting the consent of the terrorist American administration, and it must take responsibility for this crime." If Hamas seeks reprisals against Americans, the US government can then escalate their targeting of the Palestinians and associate them with Osama bin Laden and the terror war, while fully adopting the terrorist Israeli government as "allies in the war on terror." The US could also take a larger role in the oppression of the Palestinians in the occupied territories by claiming the oppression was part of the war on terror.
The assassination of Mr. Yassin was carried out with US-supplied military hardware -- equipment over whose use the US government, by law, retains some measure of control. If we had objections as to how the Apache and other military aircraft are being used, Bush could have objected to Congress. The lack of such objections signals to Sharon that his equating of the Israeli war against the Palestinian people with the broader US-led "war on terror" is a winning strategy.
Fate of the Terrorist Rabbis
There are many terrorist rabbis in Judaism, the late Meir Kahane being the most notorious, though not necessarily the most murderous. The alleged Arab assassin of Rabbi Kahane is serving a 40 year prison sentence in New York's maximum security lock-down, while the assassins of Sheik Yassin receive applause among neo-Conservatives in America.
Israeli army chaplains often compare Palestinians to "Amalek," a nation which followers of the religion of Judaism believe is fated for extermination. These Judaic chaplains encourage Israeli troops to shoot Palestinians of all ages and sexes at every opportunity. The Israeli army has killed thousands of Palestinians, including hundreds of children, since the start of the latest Intifada in September of 2000. If it is right to kill the Muslim religious leader Ahmed Yassin, is it also ethical to kill Israeli army chaplains who inspire atrocities against Palestinian civilians?
And what of Rabbi Moshe Levenger, and many rabbis like him? Levenger is a convicted murderer (of an unarmed Arab shopkeeper, for which he served a few months in jail), and one of the most bloodthirsty founders of the Talmudic "settler" movement, who has much innocent Palestinian blood on his hands. Levenger continues to stir up pogroms against Arab villagers.
Is there a Palestinian "right to self defense" against criminal rabbis and the atrocities they foment, and if so, does it extend to the assassination of such rabbis? Certainly any Palestinian killing of any rabbi, no matter how guilty that rabbi may be of atrocities against Palestinians, would still qualify as a terror act in the eyes of almost all US Establishment opinion-makers. Assassination of political and religious figures is universally regarded as an act of terror when Arabs do it. If any Arab were to kill a terrorist rabbi in the Israeli state or in New York state for that matter, such a killing would be immediately labeled a terror act by the US government and the US media would search for an "Al Qeada" link.
But when the Israelis commit assassinations they are described as "part of the struggle against terror." CNN stated, "The Israeli attack on Yassin follows weeks of Israeli anti-terrorism military operations into Gaza. Several Palestinians, including civilians, have died in the operations."
In Orwellian fashion, CNN always terms the killing of Israeli civilians as terrorism. But CNN calls the killing of Palestinian civilians "anti-terrorism." This double-standard is Judaic supremacy in action.

The message of the latest assassination, of the Hamas chaplain Yassin, is that the Israeli-American System needs terror. It fattens on it, swears by it and is fully manifested only by means of it.When Muslims moderate their stand (and Sheik Yassin was a a moderating influence on Hamas), put out feelers toward diplomacy, or seek a settlement, the Israeli-American monstrosity responds with missiles and bullets aimed at Muslim civilians and religious figures, in order to instigate more of the reflexive, retributive bloodbath that is then presented on American telescreens as "proof" of the instrinsic and ineradicable bestiality of Arabs and Muslims.
This cycle of Israeli terror and Islamic resistance is part of the Cryptocracy's Great Game.
On the eve of a referendum among members of an organization, like on the eve of elections, anything and everything can be put in writing, and promises fly thick and fast. To his misfortune, U.S. President George Bush, was dragged into the letter-exchange game on behalf of the Gaza disengagement referendum. It has befallen him at a time that he, himself, is looking for a way to disengage from the Iraqi killing fields, before John Kerry disengages him from the White House.
When the king of Jordan or the Egyptian president is angry, Bush can still continue with his game of golf on the family ranch. While his airs and graces toward Sharon and the Jewish community invoke the jealousy of the few Muslim voters he has left, Bush can remain ahead in the polls.
And even when Sharon's fence threatens to appropriate the lands of thousands of Muslim peasants who have the misfortune of living in the seam-line area, Bush can ignore its invasive route.
But when Pope John Paul II stirs up leaders of Congress, and prompts them into sending Bush letters of protest about the damage being done by the Jews to sacred Christian sites, the president is in trouble.
House International Relations Committee Chairman Henry Hyde's letter about the route of the separation fence will soon force Bush to decide what is more important - his relations with the masses of Christian voters on the eve of the presidential elections, or Sharon's relations with Benjamin Netanyahu the day after the referendum.
To get Netanyahu off the fence with regard to the disengagement plan, Sharon undertook to speed up construction of the fence. Congressman Hyde (Rep.-Ill.), inspired by the most senior ranks in the Vatican, is calling on the Bush administration to stop construction of the southern parts of the fence.
Hyde, considered a friend of Israel, begins his letter to Secretary of State Colin Powell with warm words. "As you know, I am a staunch supporter of Israel. Throughout their struggle with terrorism, the people of Israel have always had my heartfelt sympathies, and they will continue to have my steadfast support. I strongly believe that Israel has a right and a responsibility to defend itself from acts of terrorism."
But the senior congressman also lashes out mercilessly at the route of the separation fence, noting: "I am writing to express my concerns over the plight and security of Christians in the Holy Land, and other issues which they confront as a result of living in the vicinity of Israel's separation barrier now under construction... If the Christian character of Jerusalem is not preserved, I fear that important religious sites will become museums for commercial purposes and will will no longer be maintained as places of spiritual worship shared by billions across the world.
"I am asking to you to persuade the Israeli government to take meaningful steps to alleviate the suffering of the Christian community and their institutions without compromising President Bush's vision of two states living side by side in peace and security."
And Hyde continues: "The Administration should work with the Israeli government to change the route of the barrier, without moving it further east into the West Bank, so as not to infringe on Christian life in the Holy Land. Specifically, there should not be any physical barrier separating Bethlehem from East Jerusalem and Bethany at the Mount of Olives. Those residing at monasteries or convents should not be required to travel long distances in detours to reach their Holy places."
Elsewhere in the letter, the congressman writes, "The current route of the separation fence as proposed by the Israeli Ministry of Defense will divide Bethlehem from Jerusalem, which threatens to stifle Christian life by preventing access to holy sites, places of prayer, and the contiguity of the Christian population."
Permanent settlement with the Vatican
Hyde asks to outline "some of the more serious examples of which [he] is now aware" with regard to the damage the fence is causing to Christian interests, noting: "In several cases, the barrier will follow a route through a number of religious sites, including the Rosary Sisters Convent, which just spent $6,000,000 building a new school that serves 2,000 female students. The proposed route will separate the convent from the school, creating an untenable situation. Also in the case of the Russian Orthodox Convent of St. Mary Magdalene, which runs a school in Bethany, the proposed route will separate the school from the Mother Church. The route of the barrier will also block access to the Sisters of Emmanuel Monastery in the hills north of Bethlehem.
"The dwindling Christian community is also threatened by the expropriation or confiscation of its lands. This is the principle cause for the decreasing Christian population in the Holy Land. In 1948, Christians comprised more than 18 percent of the population, a number which has dwindled to 2 percent today. The proposed route will take land from hundreds of families in Beit Sahour, better known as Shepherds' Field, and Beit Jala. Shepherds' Field is the place where an angel appeared announcing the birth of Jesus.
"In December 2003, USAID completed construction of a road at a cost of $260,000 north of Bethlehem leading to the Cremisan Monastery of the Salesian Fathers. Only days after completion on January 11, 2004, without notice, the Israeli Defense Forces destroyed the road, leaving it useless by the people it was meant to serve. My office has been unable to find any justification for this destruction. If the measure was necessary for security purposes, why didn't the Israeli government communicate such information to the United States Government prior to the investment of U.S. funds?
"The construction of an eight-meter-high concrete wall in Bethany on the Mount of Olives near the Bethpage monasteries is near completion. This will completely enclose the only remaining passage from Bethany to the Mount of Olives, and will place undue restrictions on religious freedom by preventing the procession of Palm Sunday from Bethpage into Jerusalem in commemoration of when Jesus began his triumphant entry into Jerusalem... the Administration should ensure that the Stations of the Cross are not cut off from each other, preventing the normal celebrations of Easter and the commemoration of the last days of Christ."
Hyde concludes with a demand: "Lastly, the Administration should encourage Israel to return to negotiations with the Holy See regarding the final status issues of the Fundamental Agreement between the Holy See and the State of Israel."
