Yes, it's true. Click here to read the Reuters article about Sudan taking a place on the U.N. Human Rights Commission.
Click here to protest against rampant human rights abuses by jihad warriors in Sudan.
Yeah, it's really incredible! I've already sent an e-mail of protest to Kofi Anan - a lot good that'll do! Maybe you all should do the same and tell all your friends, associates and family members to also send e-mails, write letters, call the U.N. to protest this insane decision.
What a joke!

This is no surprise to me, considering some of the other nations allowed on the commision, but it is a major affront to anybody who has been following the stories of what's been going on in Sudan - I can't say "following the news" of what's going on, since our U.S. news agencies, by and large, don't see ethocide, religious oppresion/terrorism, slavery, etc., as news in Sudan. All of the above behaviors are worthy of comment only when they can be an embarrassment to a western democracy.
The UN should be disbanded. It is useless. It is just a vehicle for freeloading political hacks. this has to be one of their lowest points.
Disgusting.
Chaya: Good for you- the link Robert provided to iAbolish sends emails to most European leaders, the US and the UN. Join the uprising against this outrage. The monsoon season is about to hit the million people living in the fields and what little aid is available is being blocked by the Sudan. Hundreds of thousands are predicted to die.
I'm so physcially furious that I wrote my next article but I have to change the name from "Chuck and F*** the UN."
exerpt:
A chaotic, failed state has less sovereignty than a stable state. A torturous government is less legitimate than a nurturing one. The Sudanese government has fewer rights than Norways does. If all people are equal, then all states cannot be equal: a lethal regime is inferior to a non-lethal regime. The sovereignty of families trumps the sovereignty of states.
The UN should be relocated to sunny Sudan, Havana, Damascus, or anywhere else with such a fabulous record of human rights.
The people to write is the U.S. Congress and the Senate to get the USA out of the un.
Contributions from the United States account for 22% of the UN's annual budget. Your tax dollars hard at work.
The really disgusting thing is that the U.N.'s largest monetary supporter is by far and away the U.S.
Congress should be instructed to drastically reduce our funding of this inept institution.
This is beyond a joke and, yet again, a clear indication of the true nature of the UN. It simply cannot be neutral with the many dictators it houses who make life and death decisions. God help us.
