Catherine the idea of making anything into fuel is true and the stuff is called biodiesel. It is really neat. You can actually purchase systems to create it yourself for about $2000, but if you search the web you can find instructions to make it yourself. All it takes, I think, is the system, which you can make, biodegradable material, like animal manure or plant material, and some enzyme, that you can purchase from places like Real Goods. From what I have heard the highest it has ever cost for a gallon of biodiesel is 60 cents a gallon, but that would go down if more people had to purchase the enzyme then production would go up. I plan on trying it myself and spreading the word.
