Thanks to Jeffrey Imm, this story from The Telegraph:
...there is no disguising the fact that hundreds of angry young Shias - some poor and ill-educated, others from relatively well-off families - are flocking to the Mahdi army.
The article concludes:
"I am no fan of Moqtada al-Sadr but it is the Americans who are causing our suffering. Every day they kill innocent people. They should just leave our country. They promised democracy and freedom but all they have delivered is torture and abuse."
bring him and his fanatic brothers on; before he kills, he will be killed and sent to allah with the 72 virgins; so much for peaceful islamic religion.
He should put down his gun, take off his mask, an get back to work trimming hedges before he ends up just another dead terrorist.
Like imaginative 5 year olds, any resemblance between the truth and what these idiots say is pure coincidence. They are pathetic.
This article simply reminds me that the White House is using the Marine Corps playbook on this one.
Engage the enemy in their part of the world,
Close With them on battlegrounds and situations of our choosing,
Destroy them in a foreign land instead of here.
Too bad Katie Couric and her ilk are so focused on little trees such as this soon-to-be-ex insurgent that they can't see the beautiful forest we're helping Iraq build.
Guys:
Once again,I would like to invite you all to read/post more over at Dhimmi Watch. Articles there are often of tremendous interest and importance.
Confusing...
The same people who sais "poor iraqis, lets us go and liberate them" are the same ones who said "nuke em to glass"
Talk about your misplaced priorities,eh?
geek,
I don't see anyone calling for nukes or carpet bombing, just "reducing" militants that aren't exactly popular among average Iraqis.
Maybe I need my eyes checked...
Bob Owens:
Not on this thread, but there have been plenty of "nuke" references on this site. Contrary to what geekpunk asserts, it's not usualy the same people making both statements.
"usually" - forgot to proofread
". . .They (the Americans) have given us nothing. . . "
It is high time that Muslims learned that democracy is not for the giving—it is for the taking!
As long as they are not willing to lift a finger to develop their own democracies and civil societies, there is nothing the rest of us can do but—leave them to their allah.
Let us get the Hell out of there ASAP. Let the U.N. have the job. Let the Arab states help or not.
There can be no democracy under Islam!
Lilith, I almost agree with you except that unless we crush the nitwits, we'll have to kill 'em on Fifth Avenue. I don't want to see one more terrorist in the holy city of New York.
Well! I was told when I was LIttle not to start a Fight But make sure I finished it.
Now we Know that in the Iraqi Embassy in Prage [witch is a beautiful city] is where Atta meet with an Iraqi intell guy met him. Well here in my world that says You get to finish this Fight and we will.
The Iraqis Can live in a sh-thole or let us help them get rid of the monsters or become monsters themselfs it is up to them we will forgive ourselfs for what the terrorist have made us do. It is us or them and the American people choice us.
The Libs and the Press [same thing] have done a poor thing they have lied to the Iraqis to say we will not stay the course we are our grand-parents Children That won WW2. We will Fight All who are aginst the USA and win to stay Free. Freedom is not without cost!
Part of the American Tribe
God Bless the USA and her Fighting Forces and All who Fight with her give them Strength and Courage to stay the course to Victory Amen
The Iraqis, like most Muslims, are born and bred to hate the West. I don't feel that they were worth what we've spent on them, or what our soldiers have sacrificed for them.
We plucked the pig Hussein from his little spider hole, and put holes all over his two rotten sons.
Iraqi freedom is important as it pertains to the U.S. and her safety. However, as far as sacrificing anything for the Iraqis, they're obviously ungrateful and ignorant of the facts regarding our efforts.
Geek, remember, our military took out Saddams "mighty" army in a matter of a few weeks. The terds we have to remove from planet earth now are the pukes like al Sadr and others like him, who want to run the country.
Foreign fighters "terrorists" have been sent into Iraq from Syria and Iran, and they're losing. Overall, we are dominating them. Although they have no concept of fighting without hiding in religious sites, or behind women and children, they take heave losses every day. Muslims cannot breed fast enough to replace their dead terrorists.
There are a few liberals that post on here that completely understand what's going on. Maybe you can talk to them Geek, so they can wise you up. I'd suggest that you don't play ostrich, and stand up for the nation that brings you the freedom to make any comments you want to make.
Islamic (sharia) law would never allow that. you ought to give that some thought.
I would have thought it would go without saying, but for Geek's edification....All types of people with all manner of opinion post here.
We are not cookie cutter people and we all carry different opinions on different topics...You need to stop painting with a mile wide brush..
We will take what you say and judge it and you accordingly, as we do all the other posters. Why don't you try and do the same...
When you accuse us all of saying something one person said, you lose significant esteem, try posting the name/names of the people you are talking about.
geekpunk:
You allege that there's an inconsistency between holding sincere wishes for peace and a proper democracy soon for Iraq and the sober contemplation of the use of American nuclear arms there.
- Not at all mutually exclusive! Arguably - in extremis - the employment of the latter could well lead to the creation of the former (think Japan, 1945).
In extremis: nukes should never be weapons of first or even of early resort, nor to be detonated promiscuously. Nonetheless, especially at this point in history, they ought NOT to be excluded from the Allied armoury, for the indispensable sake of Western victory in the struggle ahead.
The enemy in these hostilities are fully prepared to see this conflict through generations till they win - featuring grisly megacide by the Islamo-fascists if so.
Nukes could become the only practical ticket at hand to circumvent their ambitions. Moreover, the clock’s ticking away on this one right now - highly-enriched uranium’s accumulating in covert Iranian centrifuges. Some of the US’ premium options might suddenly expire, the moment that, say, Iran’s got an adequate stockpile of A-bombs.
Once these are on alert, Washington could no longer consider utilizing one of its nukes as an example in the dar el-Islam - despite how very sorely just that blow may be required - lest it suffers prompt retaliation. (Iran’s rocketry research does include ICBMs.)
How about if el-Qaeda (hardly friendless there) should take over Pakistan, with its store of 50 or 60 warheads? What, have no nukes ready for that?
