Christians fleeing Kano

Many hundreds of innocent Christians have died in Kano since a Muslim protest turned into carnage in retaliation for Muslim deaths hundreds of miles away in Yelwe. Members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) say some 600 Christians have been killed so far this week in Kano, Nigeria’s second-largest city. Andrew Ubah, the general secretary of the association in Kano, told Reuters on Thursday 13 May that he was keeping a tally based on reports from church leaders throughout the city. “Almost 600 people have been killed and 12 churches burned,” he said.David Emmanuel, a factory worker told Reuters he saw two truckloads of corpses on Wednesday night, and he counted at least 30 bodies in the street. Elsewhere, correspondents have seen 35 mostly burned and mutilated bodies.
The official police tally of 30 that remains more or less static from Wednesday night is belied by the overflowing morgue and the constant stream of eye-witness reports from all quarters of the city. Bodies were being discovered on Thursday and because the main hospital mortuary was full were taken to undisclosed locations, according to the Red Cross. “Not all cases are reported, especially cases in which relatives have already buried their dead,” said Aminu Inua, a Red Cross official in Kano.
“Hundreds of people were killed,” said Christian leader Mark Amani. “Some corpses were burned in wells. Even little children were killed. The bodies of pregnant women were ripped open and their bodies burned,” he said.
Sources report the killing of several hundred people when defiant mobs of Muslim youths armed with clubs and machetes and cutlasses rampaged at about 1 a.m. on Thursday despite a police imposed curfew. Mobs went from house to house looking for Christian victims and in some cases trapped the occupants inside and torched the houses. Police have been issued orders to shoot armed rioters on sight. While Muslims have complained that the police have killed innocent civilians as a result, they do not mean the scores of hacked bodies that lie in the streets and in charred buildings and vehicles according to residents.
There are fears that the number of deaths may continue to grow since an order was circulated by Umar Ibrahim Kabo, the most senior Mulim cleric in Kano, for all Christians to leave the area by today, Friday 14 May. More than 30,000 residents, mostly Christians, have been driven from their homes in Kano officials said on Thursday, a figure confirmed by Archbishop Josiah Idowu-Fearon in a telephone conversation with Barnabas Fund.

I have met a few African priests visiting here who have horror stories to tell of what has happened to their parishoners (In Nigeria and Sudan) when they strayed into areas that jihadists didn't want them in. The brutality is beyond comprehension. Yet, I don't ever remember hearing that lead the news.

Mob violence is a bad thing, and everybody, Muslim and unbeliever alike, deplores it. The Nigerian situation must, however, be put into context if we are to understand what has happened.
Some Muslim provinces in northern Nigeria have recently replaced their corrupt man-made laws by the divine laws prescribed by Allah (swt). This Islamic law is known as Sharia. The implementation of Sharia was done carefully and with due deliberation, with help from Islamic scolars from fraternal Muslim lands (Sudan and Saudi Arabia).
The Christians in those provinces had a choice. They could embrace Islam, or they could continue to practice Christianity in the manner prescribed by Sharia. It the latter case, they would be under the protection of the Muslims, to whom they would pay a special tax for that protection.
The Christians refused the hand of peace and chose instead to war against Almighty Allah (swt). They rioted, and their mobs killed many innocent Muslims in Yelwe. The Muslims in Kano are simply demonstrating soliderity with their brothers in Yelwe.
The fault therefore lies completely with the Christians, who refuse to acknowledge the rights of the Nigerian Muslims. When they cease their hostile actions, and when they comply with the law, peace will be restored.

They have the choice to embrace islam or practice hristianity with the sharia law, but who are the muslims to say where are the limits of freeedom religion?, they are nothing, the person is the judge to practise his religion where and like he wants.

Reza laid out a perfectly reasoned argument about the Christian/Muslim problem in Nigeria, from his Islamic point-of-view. His e-mail should be manadatory reading, for members of the Western media outlets, government officials in the West, and Western educators. Maybe then, these same people, whose poltically correct views permeate our societies, will begin to get the true picture. Islam is only peaceful when it completely dominates the world. It has to be their way, or violence, destruction and death follow...no thanks, that's not the world that I want to live in or leave to my grandchildren.

The other time when I spoke about the sharia implementation in some countries of the west, some people were talking ironically. Do you all now see how serious the issue is? This is an issue we need to speak against clearly and decisivesly.
As said in my earlier article, The muslims anywhere should be carefully watched, some people try to accommodate them. Personally I do not agree with that all, these are people who if given slightest opportunity, will not hesistate to kill anybody that comes their way and make it bloody.
If we go by the Koran, we will see that their religion appreciate the fighting against all mankind and killing infidels (Christians, Jews and non-believers). If a religion is preaching that, should we accommodate such dangerous people that propagate such idea? This is not the first time christians will be killed in thousands in Nigeria, it all began in 1980. Nobody heard their cry, the other time BBC was saying what I personally believe to be opposite of what was happening. I think we need to call a spade a spade in reporting news. The muslims are the killers not the christians. so everybody be watchful and get yourself ready always. They will try to claim that their religion preaches “peace” but it is a big lie, I was trained by them in my early years and I think I know what they teach against humanity.
Please pray for persecuted christians and dont only pray alone, stand up for them in your decisions, and this world will be made a better place.

With reference to your naive analysis, I wish to personally re-analyse your arguement. So it was the guys from Saudi Arabia that actually started the ideas. Do you now see that you guys are liars and see the level of your hypocrysis, because when you started you wicked sharia you said it will be applied to the "poor" and helpless illiterate you called muslims brothers. Have you forgotten in Jigawa or bauchi state of Nigeria how your purported muslim brother the former governor of the state embezzled billions of Naira (millions of dollars), Why did he hired a Christian for his defence and refused to be tried by your wicked sharia law. I think your holy law needs some purification and re-application! I strongly assumed that you don’t even understand the Sharia in Nigeria which is why you are making such “uneducated” assumptions.
If you think your law is holy and the supreme law, why is it that there has never been a reasonable development in the northern Nigeria and there are so many jobless muslim brothers? Coupled with the fact that when one of the house of rep. members of the northern state in Nigeria was caught with a girl or less than 18 years he bluntly refused to be tried in the sharia court.
I presumed you should be more enlightened about the application of your sharia.
Let me tell you this fact, the more you think you persecute the church in Northern Nigeria, the more we are growing and excelling.
And by his divine grace we shall not stop there until you becomes a chritian and the place where you do your haji in Mecca becomes a church to the glory of true God!

You see Reza, 2000 yrs ago the Word of the Living God (Jesus) informed us that HE will build His church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
Persecution to us is nothing new.
Through HIS strength we shall overcome.
And then, one day;

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,to the glory of God the Father."

That's every knee and tongue Reza, i.e. including yours.
Repent now and embrace Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and accept His sacrifice for the remmision of your sins. Abandon the darkness and lies of Islam and turn to the light of the glorious gospel of Christ.
