"I can't sleep."
Borders and immigration. Improve these and perhaps General Hughes will sleep better. Keep letting Muslims and Mexicans in here, and the problem will not go away.
They are intent upon killing us using whatever means necessary as they haven't been able to cow us. The general has reason not to sleep. As we move closer to the election, they will strike, believing that we will cave in like good dhimmis, as did the Spanish.
This is the same strategy that Ghengis Kahn and Atilla used. He offered the citizens of cities two options: complete capituation and life or continued struggle and anihilation of all living things within that city. Are we made of stern stuff? I hope so as we will need every ounce of will in the months and years to come for our very survival.
We need to behave a bit more like them, and mean it:
Tell the Saudis (our real enemy), "If something happens to us, then much worse will happen to you."
They can do a much better job of infiltrating the jihadists, and laying down the 'law'.
But we must mean it.

Regarding your 'American Tribe' expression, I have long felt that Americans of different races and religions have more in common with each other as Americans than they do with foreigners who are of the same race or religion. Of course, that's good. I lived in a black Caribbean country for a while. Quite frankly, I felt more of a kinship with black Americans that I believe black Americans felt for the locals of that country. This is not universally the case, but it is often so. It is heartening to see a sort of 'American race' that consists of many races. The reason why we are on this board is because so many Muslim Americans consider other Americans immoral or inferior. Even if they were right (which they aren't) the only thing that makes sense is to honor the distinction between 'us' and 'them' which they recognize. Our lives depend on it.

The remark about the danger of letting Muslims and Mexians (?!) in really highlights that there is a fine line between understandable concern and just blanket racism, and that that line is often getting crossed in the sentiments and views expressed here.
John I agree with you, at least in theory. I haven't heard of any Mexican terrorists, as many, if not most, are devout Catholics.
Thant said, border security is incredibly lax, and needs a dramatic overhaul. Perhaps DCWatson was only trying to point out the fact that with so many illegals coming over the border from Mexico into the US, it would be very easy for terrorists to inflitrate this way as well.
It's very hard to pull off a successful chemical or biological attack if your purpose is to inflict mass casualties.A person is much more likely to die of old age then from a chem or bio attack. I recommend reading "Fear Less" by Gavin de Becker to learn just how difficult chem or bio attacks are to carry off.

That depends on where you try to pull off your attack.
In a densely-populated, sealed, climate-controlled structure (a basketball arena, high-rise office building, shopping mall, etc.), it actually wouldn't be that difficult.
Keeping dangerous people out is not racist. It's a moral obligation to all American people to keep everyone safe. Leaving our borders open for anyone to come in is stupid, dangerous and suicide. I want to live, thank you.
I have to agree with one thing concerning Mexicans, as I know one quite well down in Dallas area: They are Very proud of their heritage. And I suspect that they would resent being counted anywhere near muslims coming across the same border.
I often wonder if they resent being tagged 'hispanic' by the liberals.... but I haven't asked him yet. He's like to bite my head off when he's Happy with me :P

It really is difficult to pull off a successful chem or bio attack. Japanese fanatics attempted a chem attack in the subway in Japan and inflicted minimal casualties. This was after gaining the help of a scientist and spending millions of dollars in preparation for the launch of the attack. The problem with a bio attack is that the biological agent would soon find it's way back to the host country (Iran for example), with devastating results.While the US has one of the best health care systems in the world the same can't be said for most countries in the Middle East.A bio agent would sweep through the ME causing many more casualties then in the US. That's one reason the Mullahs are unlikely to attempt a bio attack in the US because of what would happen to them.
