Quietly across globe, terrorism rises steadily

Magnus Ranstorp (Aftonbladet)

An overview from Knight Ridder:

ROME - A series of recent developments in the war on terrorism, barely noticed in the United States, suggests that global Islamic extremism is spreading.

On Monday, Turkish authorities charged nine people, believed to be part of an al-Qaeda-linked group, in connection with planning to bomb next month's NATO summit in Istanbul, which President Bush is scheduled to attend. That followed the April 26 televised confessions of suspects allegedly caught trying to build a chemical bomb, which authorities said could have killed tens of thousands in Jordan's capital, Amman.

In Saudi Arabia, authorities weren't so successful. On May 1, militants shot dead two Americans, two Britons and an Australian at an oil company's offices. On May 3, a car bomb exploded in southwestern Pakistan, killing three Chinese engineers who had been building a multimillion-dollar seaport.

In Syria on April 27, a gym teacher died in a cross fire between extremists and police. In Thailand the next day, police killed 108 Muslim militants who had allegedly attacked police stations trying to seize guns, though that incident has overtones of longstanding ethnic strife. In Spain, an indictment issued April 29 alleges that one of the Moroccans accused in connection with the Madrid train bombings is also linked to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. In Indonesia on April 30, protesters rioted after a radical cleric was arrested again on charges linking him to the 2002 nightclub bombings in Bali, which killed 202 people.

On Thursday, the FBI took into custody Oregon lawyer Brandan Mayfield, in connection with the Madrid train bombings, which killed 191 people and injured 2,000.

Many of these events, all within the past two weeks, received scant attention in the United States, where the Iraq prisoner abuse scandal has dominated news headlines. But they are the most recent indications that the threat of Islamic terrorism -- and the transnational battles against it -- are intensifying.

The recent episodes show that law enforcement and intelligence agencies across Europe and the Middle East have been able to prevent terrorist attacks and have vigorously pursued those accused of planning them. Yet the military and police actions haven't stopped extremists from hatching chilling plots.

Islamic militants "are trying to expand the battlefield and exhaust the United States, creating widespread fear," said Magnus Ranstorp, a terrorism specialist at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. ...

U.S. officials say that more than two-thirds of al-Qaeda's leaders have been killed or captured, and as many as 4,000 people have been arrested on terrorism-related charges worldwide.

But some experts believe the war on terrorism -- and the U.S.-led war in Iraq -- have inspired recruits who are operating in loosely affiliated, independent cells.

"The U.S. invasion of Iraq increased the worldwide threat of terrorism many times over," said Rohan Gunaratna, author of the book "Inside al-Qaeda, the Global Network of Terror."

Richard Evans, a terrorism expert and editor of Jane's Terrorism and Insurgency Center in London said, "These days, al-Qaeda really is just a merchant banker of global Islamic militancy.

"The modern face of global Islamic militancy is very disjointed and extremely diffuse. There are all kinds of different groups and different networks operating around the world now."

In Turkey, where four suicide truck bombings killed 63 people in November, officials said they'd been watching and listening to the NATO summit plotters for up to a year. When they finally moved in, they said, they seized handguns, rifles, explosives, timers, mobile telephones, bomb-making pamphlets and compact discs containing instructions from Osama bin Laden.

They said the suspects were members of Ansar al-Islam, a radical group that operates in northern Iraq.

Turkish newspapers reported Tuesday that authorities believed three of the suspects intended to carry out suicide attacks against Bush at the June summit. One of the men had lived in Pakistan for six years, where he received flight training, a newspaper said.

Details are still sketchy about the plot in Amman. On April 26, Jordanian authorities broadcast taped confessions from suspects who said they planned to set off a chemical bomb -- what kind of chemical wasn't disclosed -- near Jordanian intelligence headquarters in Amman. Authorities said the attack could have killed as many as 80,000 people.

A statement attributed to Jordanian-born Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who U.S. officials believe is responsible for several suicide attacks against civilians in Iraq, later confirmed the bomb plot but denied that chemicals would have been used.

The plot also called for attacks on the prime minister's office and the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordanian officials said on state television. Six suspects were arrested and four others were killed in a series of recent raids, security officials said.

The Amman and Istanbul operations came after a series of other arrests in Europe since the Madrid rail car bombings. On April 6, U.S. and British agents reportedly uncovered a possible plot to use the lethal chemical osmium tetroxide to kill people in the United Kingdom.

Europe may face an even larger indigenous terror threat than the United States because it is home to larger numbers of Islamic extremists and closer to North Africa and the Middle East.

Extremists also have targeted certain Islamic countries allied with the United States, particularly Saudi Arabia, which faces a homegrown threat, and Turkey, which is seen as a crucial battleground.

European and Middle Eastern intelligence agencies' counterterrorism efforts "have been very successful, relatively speaking. We know what they think about, we know how they operate," said Ranstorp, the terrorism expert. "But of course... you can't watch all individuals all the time."

Evans said: "In Western Europe, another successful terrorist attack is a case of 'when,' not 'if.' "

One has to wonder if the 'mainstream' press would rather leave the US (and Canadian) population under-informed- the better to take advantage of the headlines when something bad Does happen here. 'It came out of Nowhere!'

On your mark, get ready, set,....GO.

Every time Muslims attempt to defend themselves and defend their families against agression, the hypocritical West cries "terrorism".

The solution is simple. Stop warring against Allah (swt). Embrace Islam and replace corrupt man-made law by Allah's (swt)divine law (Sharia). When the Caliphate encompasses the Earth, peace will reign forever.

Allahu akbar

Your kind of 'peace' we can do without!! Go to www.secularislam.org and read about all those who have escaped from Islam!

I am surprised that Knight Ridder Newspapers columnist should say "Details of the plot in Amman are still sketchy". It is well known that the terrorists are linked to Al-Qaeda and were trying to disperse in the atmosphere gas trucked in from Syria which presumably got it from Iraq.

The WMDs were not found in Iraq because they had been shipped to Syria before the beginning of the war at the suggestion of Russian advisors.
Before the war started or right at the beginning, Israel had warned the US that the WMDs had been shipped to Syria. They have now surfaced in Jordan where 20 tons of a sophysticated and tough to manifacture nerve gas called VX were found in the hands of Al-Qaeda terrorists who brought the stuff in by trucks from Syria (mind you, 20 tons of gas is a lot of gas!). The terrorists' plan was to release the 20 tons of gas in the atmosphere killing an estimated 80,000 people as a warning and intimidation to other Arabs states. As a matter of fact Syria is trying to get rid of some quantative of WMDs as they are afraid that the Israelis know where they are buried and might bomb them.
Please go to www.frontpagemag.com and read the May 7 article "Iraqi WMDs, Now in Syria" an interview with terrorism expert John Loftus.
Bush and Rumsfeld were not wrong, they only arrived late!
What is surprising is the silence of the media on this matter which smells of anti-Bush electioneering bias as they are afraid that reporting this would give him a political gain.

As far as what the muslim caricature called Reza writes above, readers must be reminded that mohammedan Arabs think very differently than do we Westerners: the Arabs view hatred, violence, and killing as having positive value, whereas most Westerners look upon such things as evil. Most Westerners make the mistake of thinking that all peoples all over the world are very much the same, and that they all want to love and be loved, and to live in peace with their neighbors. But that notion is untrue. Preaching death and hatred is inherent in the arab nature as is their inability to live in peace and to respect neighbours and other cultures. I would pity them if they were not so dangerous.

When the Caliphate encompasses the Earth, peace will reign forever.

quote from Reza

Was Reza just a caricature, or a straw man for us all to attack? Treating Reza's "sarcastic" comment as genuine, I would say we all adopt a Thank You, No! To all Offers of Dhimmi status.

On the media side of things, the major outlets of "journalism" remind me of how their writers and editors behaved during the last half of the cold war. There seemed to be policy of No Enemies On the Left..chiefly, the Soviet Union. Now its no enemies with Islam.

It will take some deep pockets to provide alternative media to the Peter Jennings's, and BBC's of the world. Also, the President, in my opinion, need never apologize for the brutality applied to Saddam's Republican Guards, in the Pokey. How much cruelty have those fellows used against their own countryman under Saddam's Fuhrership? Should we bleed for the SS that were massacred under Stalin after WW2?

Sorry for the blather

Hey guys:

I don't think enough of you are reading/posting over at "Dhimmi Watch"; that's where I find some of the most disturbing and infuriating articles.

Reza,

See the "Sunni vs. Shi'ite" story posted here on May 8th. Is this an example of the sort of peace we can expect?

"But some experts believe the war on terrorism -- and the U.S.-led war in Iraq -- have inspired recruits who are operating in loosely affiliated, independent cells."

Here we go again, blaming the principle country fighting against the jihad for "inflaming Muslim sensibilities." These seem like the ideas of a cowering Euro-sybarite who doesn't believe there is anything worth fighting for.

Let me suggest it is better to have jihadis out of the closet than slowly strangling us in our sleep with their whitewashed facade that the majority of pre-9/11 Americans found so palatable.

To Reza:

The solution is simple: Just accept social democratic secularism and peace and prosperity will follow. :)

Make your children go to real schools with a wide variety of subjects instead of just indoctrinating them in islam.

Hint! The powerty in you countries may have to do with the above. It sickens me when people starts to blame others for their poverty (Jews, Crusaders, immoral westerners) when they havent started making even the most basic attempts to become a part of civilization.

Reza:

From all I have seen and heard ,I have always felt that the word "hypocrisy" did not exist in the Arabic language or that the word has another definition not found in my English dictionary.

Maybe my eyes are beginning to understand that muslims are a very different kind of thinking people who embrace, and cherish death more than they do life. This is why they never apologize for deliberatly murdering innocent women and children and then send their own children on suicide missions to kill us so-called infidels (non-believers), believers in the way of the Quran that is of course.

For Christians,Jews,Buddhists,Taoists,Hinduism, ETC. also pray to a god. But radical Islam --Wahhabist, and Salafists have decided that they are the only believers.

Of course in the end, the real god will pass the final judgement on whose religious ideologies where his choice for the people of this planet.

Islam was inspired by Satan. It is a cult of death stait out of the depths of Hell. I have read the Qur'an several times. I'm still stunned at how stupid mohammad was. The sun sets in muddy water!!! Give me a break. There will never be peace with Islam. Satan hate G-ds creation and has continued throughout the centuries to destroy it. Islam is Satan's greatest and worst achievement.

Email this message to everyone you know. We got to get the word out:

ABU GRAIB HYPOCRISY

First let me say that these crimes must be punished. Everyone is shocked and disgusted by this psychological torture and humiliation, which will effect the victims for the rest of their lives.
But the International Community's reaction is riddled with hypocrisy:

1. Bad treatment for US troops?
It is conventional wisdom among pundits that ill-treatment by a few US troops will result in worse treatment against American POWs. Really?
In the past, US POWS and even civilians have hardly been treated according to the Geneva Conventions. Daniel Pearl beheaded, the Fallujah four mutilated and burned, Jessica Lynch raped come to mind. Tiger cages and torture in Vietnam, forced death marches and executions during WWII. Perhaps the pundits could tell me of a conflict where American POWs were protected?
The threat of bad treatment for POWs might have more effect if it hadn't already happened.

2. Torture=bad, Torture-Killing=Good?
How did the world respond when 4 civilians were tortured, mutilated, burned, shot, executed, their bodies parts burned, stepped on, dragged and hung from bridges? In much of the press, it was hardly denounced, and actually used as more evidence of either American failure or blame was cast on the non-combatant civilian workers as being "spieds" or "mercenaries".
Clearly a few humiliating sexual poses would be preferable to mutilation-death-desecration. Apparently rape, torture, mutilation and execution of Americans POWs and even civilians is okay....

3. Demand for apologies
Here's the game:
-If you only apologize, Iraqis will forgive you
-Bush and others apologize
-Declare these apologies invalid for some reason -- they were too indirect, they were personal statements, etc.
-The apology provokes no forgiveness, only shrill denunciations about trying to sneak out of responsibility. A Saudi paper screamed "Killers should apologize!"

4. War=Bad, Terror=Good?
This is a part of a larger pattern of hypocrisy: War is "evil", terror is good. War by nations against nations is wrong. Civil war and insurgency are "heroic". Thus, nations which fight wars must be harangued for real and imagined war-crimes, while their insurgent, terrorist counterparts can extermination civilians, rape, torture and mutilate with impunity---after all, they are not governments, so how can they be held responsible.

Thus, the rape of Jessica Lynch and female soldiers in the first Gulf War are laughed off. Thus, executions of American civilians like Daniel Pearl and an elderly wheel-chair bound Achille Lauro passenger is never called a war crime--the terrorists act with impunity. Only wars are protested; Terrorist atrocities and war crimes are laughed off, ignored, or worse, secretly sympathized and justified.

5. Get ready for more hypocrisy
Some Iraqis despite official apologies and even compensation ,and despite experts from the Arab media who claimed that “if only Bush would apologize” the Iraqis will forgive you, radicals in Iraq and elsewhere will no doubt seek to get “Revenge”. When American POWS are tortured and executed what can we expect? Loud, shrill denunciations by the world’s press?? I doubt it. More likely are apologetics, excuse-making, justifications, and even glee. Such is the craven nature of the “World Community”.

Mackie

I want to tell you that there are radical christians, jews, buddhists, and hindus in the word. The problem is that the western media is focussing on the muslim radicals.

It is true that muslims cherish life after death. A muslim realizes that this worldd is just a short journey, while the real life is after death, where you either go to heaven or earth. If a muslim is a good muslim, he is not scared to die as he is sure that he will move on to a better place.

Mackie, muslims do not give a kick off from killing people. We dont support any kind of killing of innocent civilians. Islam isn't represented by a small group of radical Muslims. Any Muslim who kills any civilian is condemned to death. Thanks...

Tarek, I am sure you are truthful when you say these actions are not representative of your beliefs, but you are naive if you don't see that radical muslims are a global problem and that there are a hell of a lot of muslims who preach and teach radical, violent jihad.

Go to the closest Muslim bookstore and see if you can find books teaching violent jihad. You will at least find Qutb, and probably more. Then go to the closest Christian bookstore and look for books preaching armed Christian revolution. You just won't find them.

Tarek,

I think Muslim radicals are the focus because they are committing most of the acts of violence and terrorism. Muslims declared war on America and flew planes into buildings killing 3000 on 9/11.Muslims killed 191 people in Spain on 3/11. Muslims engage in suicide bombings and gun down pregnant women and children in and around Isreal. Muslims burn Hindu women and children alive in India and tossed grenades at worshipers in Christian churchs in Pakistan. I don't hear of Christians, Jews or Hindus engaging in this level of violence on a worldwide scale. That is why Muslims are the focus of Western media.

I did some investigation using some fancy pattern matching for this 'Reza' character. This is what I culled with the help of a friend who knows Arabic from an Islamist site helping fighters with their traumas. It seems Reza's mom ran off with a handsome Jewish yoga teacher in Munich to escape the stifling atmosphere of her Islamist household, and an abusive husband. Not only she became a successful Yogini, but converted to Christianity and bore three handsome Jewish children from this passionate marriage. This is the source of his trauma and can possibly explain his constant ranting "all your children will be Muslim".

Raza,
From a Member of the American Tribe

God Bless the USA and all who Fight with her give them Strength and Courage to stay the course to VICTORY AMEN

Tarek,

I believe that you are a peace loving and moral muslim but you keep claiming that Islam is like the one you practice and the way you interpret it. While you and probably many others like you say this, there are an extremely large multitude of violence preaching and violence practicing muslims who claim that they are the true muhammedans and that their "interpretation" of the prophet teachings are the only true ones. Quran is not that difficult to interpret. If you rely upon the Hadith which are integral part of Islam you understand very well the Quran and you cannot deny that Muhammad teaches violence, violent retribution, the killing of infidels, the killing of heretics and of muslims converted to another faith, the superiority of the Arabs "because Arab is the language of the Quran", the inferiority of women etc. The so called "moderate muslims" are not the real followers of the "true religion". The teologist Ahmed El-Wahhab around 1750 preached the type of Islamism that is practiced in Saudi Arabia still today. His vision was to bring back Islam to its violent roots because it had been watered down in the centuries by "moderates" and Sufists, and he wanted to bring back the Caliphate.

Besides, there is another very important point: if the "moderate" muslims like yourself do not speak up against the violent and cruel "hijackers" (according to your views) of the true peaceful and merciful Islam and do nothing to contain and suppress the cancer of "fundamental" Islamism of what use are you for the benefit of mankind and peaceful people of the rest of the world, victims of violent Islam? It is no use to preach to try to convince us "infidels" of the virtues of your religion if we have to protect ourselves from the vociferous murderous "minority (?)" of your brethren who tell us clearly "convert or die". Remember that while it is true that not all muslims are terrorists, all present day terrorists are muslim.
Please visit the wonderful website www.faithfreedom.com.

CONGRATULTIONS FAYEZ, I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF. ONE ONLY HAS TO READ THE QURAN AND HADITH AND IT'S ALL LAYED OUT BEFORE YOUR EYES; KILL, KILL, ALL WHO WON'T FOLLOW ISLAM, MUHAMMUD AND ALLAH. WE ARE IN A RELIGIOUS WAR AND UNTIL OUR GOVERNMENT AND NATION REALIZES IT I FEAR WE WILL BE TRICKED AND DECEIVED, WHICH IS OK IN THE ISLAM FAITH TO DO AS, AND I QUOTE, ALLAH IS THE GREATEST DECEIVER OF THEM ALL. YOU SEE TAREK AND REZA SOME OF US HAVE DONE OUR HOMEWORK.

JUST GOT BACK FROM A WONDERFUL VISIT TO FAITHFREEDOM.COM AND AS USUAL EVERYONE ELSE IS AT FAULT DOWN TO THE WIND AND THE RAIN. PS LEFT THEM A VERY IMPOLITE MESSAGE.

whats with this brothel in heaven, these fools are led by satan and by there own earthly lust for orgies...you call this spiritual and heavenly, compare that to the teachings of jesus which focuses on your soul
its a fools paradise they are craving, heaven is more than we can imagine its not a mens sex fantasy

COMPLETE AGREEMENT WITH YOU PRO-ORTHODOX, JUST READ MUHAMMAD TEACHINGS FROM HIS TIME IN MEDINA AND WHAT A CHANGE IN ALLAH, FROM PEACEFUL AND LOVE YOUR FELLOW MAN, TO KILL ALL WHO DON'T BELIEVE IN ME. SURE SOUNDS LIKE DEVIL TO ME.

PBEE,

It must be said that even the so-called "peaceful and merciful" verses in the earlier part of the Quran preach these positive attitudes toward not ANY fellow man but only toward the faithful follower of Islam. For the inferior "infidel" there is no mercy, equality, pity, love etc. but only contempt, slavery and hate (if you are so lucky that they don't slaughter you by cutting your throat of your head).

Fayiz

I want to tell you that Muslims did not declare war on America. Even if a terrorist group did plan these attacks (which i strongly think no; we cant not wouldnt) it is no reason to kill thousands of people over it, many of which are innocent civilians. I think US soldiers do not care about muslim lives.

As to your point on Islam and how it is very violent, no, islam is not violent. Killers of civilians are condemned to death. Which is any civilians, including non muslims. Your propaganda has done its effect on you.

Islam i practise i didnt invent. It is the Islam practiced in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria and all over the arab world. I hear it in all the friday congregation prayers, and all the shaykhs say it out loud. What muslims are doing, on the other hand, is rage. Rage for the way the US is treating us, rage for what is happening in Iraq and Israel, and just rage. Islam didnt tell them to do that, rage did.

If they get a couple of ayats from the quran, believe me these verses are actually missused. I did mention that i support what Robert Spencer told me in an earlier forum. Muslims need a world wide movement to make clear any misused verses and point out that what these groups are doing is wrong. Otherwise it all goes to waste, and how much individual people like me tell you, you just dont trust me and dont beleive.

thanks

Tarek:

Muslim rage at how Americans are treating them????
Be specific. Other than than the Israeli-Palestinian "Problem," what have Americans done to evoke such rage?

TAREK: I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT ISLAM DECLARED WAR ON US AND ACCORDING TO MY LAST UNDERSTANDING MUSLEMS ARE A PART OF ISLAM. AGAIN WE SEE THE DENIAL OF ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAST A SHADOW ON THE BELOVED ISLAM. TRUTH IS A HARD THING TO SWALLOW.
YOU MENTION THAT ISLAM CONDEMNS KILLERS OF CIVILIANS, WHAT A JOKE, DO KILLERS OF CIVILIANS USUALLY BLOW THEMSELVES UP, AND ARE GIVEN MARTYRDOM AND GO STRAIGHT TO ALLAH WITH RIVERS OF WINE AND ALL THOSE VIRGINS. TELL ME WHAT DID THE WOMAN BOMBER GET? ALLAH DOES SAY THAT HELL IS MOSTLY FILLED WITH WOMEN.
AND FOR YOUR RAGE, STUFF IT. I AM OUTRAGED THAT YOU AND YOURS ARE STILL TRYING TO PUSH WE DON'T UNDERSTAND THE QURAN OR HADITH: TROUBLE IS THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF US WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO READ ABOUT ISLAM, AND NOT THE WESTERNIZED VERSION, AND KNOW WHAT IT REALLY STANDS FOR.
AS FOR TRUST I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING TO EARN MY TRUST ALL I SEE IS EXCUSES AND BLAIMING EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING FOR WHY ISLAM IS NOT UNDERSTOOD.
I UNDERSTAND ISLAM AND MUHAMMUD TEACHINGS AND I CONDEMN BOTH.

EPG

I want to mention many points:

1-Restriction of muslim VISAs for the united states. Even if they are given to them, they recieve second class treatment, and at the airports they are humiliated, ordered to a strip search, empty their bags, and are handled roughly. This is ONLY practised in the US, and any other airport in the world does not judge people on their ethnicity. Do you think that is the way we treat your tourists who come to us? We are extremely hospitable, and we treat them extremely friendly. Believe me this isnt propaganda, i have seen.

2-The US presence in the gulf is completely unjustified now. Why are there still US bases in the gulf. Who are they protecting? Didnt you get rid of the major threat saddam hussein? The US government knows that these countries cant kick them out, so they have to voluntarily withdraw their troops

3-Did you know that US troops have the immunity of being trialed in any court in the middle east, as it is a secret agreement between the US government and the arab countries. Even if a US soldier is having his time off and goes touring in Egypt for example and kills someone, the egyptian court has no say to his sentence and he has to be returned home? How is that supposed to make the arab countries feel? Isnt that incorrectly using your powers as a world sole superpower.

4-I also want to mention Sudan. Did you know that in the late 90s the US fired a missle on sudan, destroying a medicine factory, and of course killing many civlians? What did this pennyless country do to threaten the national security of the United states?

5-The US government always has to interfere when an arab with a US citizenship is tried for anything. This is a long issue here...

6-Why is the US insisting on aiding the presence of WMDs in Israel? They are the sole owners of WMDs in the region. Shouldnt the US force them to disarm or something? They are the sole threat to peace in the middle east. I could tell you that as soon as Israel makes peace with the palestinians and disarm its nuclear program, arabs will normalize with israel.

many more points, many of which you may see as minor, but they happen to be a big issue here

thanks

Tarek,

I trust you and I know that you are in good faith. But you cannot ignore Wahhabism and the Muslim Brotherhood and their message of hatred. If you say that they do not represent the true Islam why don't you and the other moderate muslims do something to combat them? As I have already asked you in my previous message, why don't you become active and try to oppose this "false" negative Islam? What's good is for the world that you and the other muslim people who think like you, try only to use your words to try to convince us that Islam is not violent and militant, and do nothing to convince the jihadists that Islam is a religion of peace, mercy and compassion, not ONLY toward the muslim faithful but also toward ALL mankind, and they the jihadists and the wahhabis are in the wrong?

On another subject, why you and all your muslim friends keep blaming the Americans (and the Israelis for that matter) for all your shortcomings and your inability to create anything good in the world and don't you instead use your energies for development and betterment of your people. You talk of "Rage for the way the US is treating us, rage for what is happening in Iraq and Israel..." but I don't understand what you can blame on the Americans. What have they done to you Arabs and muslims? They let you preach in their country your message not only of "muslim mercy and love" as you say (but nobody has yet heard it), but more often of hatred and death, they let you build your mosques which like in Europe they are often centres of terrorist propaganda and of money collection for terrorism. This is a million times better freedom for yourself and your brethren than in any of your muslim countries. When was the last synagogue or church built in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country? Why this "rage"? Is it because you would expect that the US let you destroy Israel or let Saddam Hussein and his assassins dominate and destroy his own people and the Middle East, be a threat to the whole world so to make you feel great with a new Caliph or a new Salah El-Din in charge, despite all the massacres and death he would bring to your breathren. We westerners are tired of tyrants and dictatorships. We have tried them all in the past and we have decided that they are very bad for a good life, prosperity and development of the nations . So we are so stupid that we want to save you from yourselves and in the process perhaps force you to open your eyes and see that life, prosperity and progress is a million times better than hatred, conquests, forced conversions and dreams of going back to the Middle Ages. And as far as Israel is concerned, you certainly cannot expect its people to commit suicide to please your palestinian terrorists and their Egyptian chieftain, Rauf El-Husseini nicknamed Yasser Arafat or Abu Ammar, the nazi killer of the 14 Athletes in Munich, the slaughterer of the Maalot school children, the butcher of hundreds and hundreds of Jewish women and children including a few days ago a pregnant mother and her 4 little daughters, the specialist murderer who bravely kill the unarmed. But Arabs are not able to face the truth and always make up visions and dreams of undeserved and inexistent greatness to forget their incapability and so they blame others for their failures, particularly the Jews and the less than 6 million Israelis who in 56 years have tranformed the desert and swamps of their land into gardens, who despite being forced to confront constant threat to their existence they managed to receive nearly one hundred Nobel prices for their achievements in medecine, science and technology for the benefit of ALL MANKIND. Why don't you learn from them and start to use your human resources for peaceful aims? Stop dreaming of destroying Israel or to harm it mortally. Despite having that joke of the United Nations and most of the world with you, including the vile and antisemitic (anti-Jewish) European Union you still complain that all your misfortunes are caused by that tiny country of 6 million people, and of course by the Americans who have not facilitated your dream of annihilating Israel. What the hell do you want more: you have your palestinian state and it is called Jordan, it was stolen by Britain to please you from the Mandate of Palestine which was destined for the creation of a Jewish state (see the 1928 Sanremo Treaty of the League of Nations), they let you destroy and ethnic cleanse Lebanon from their original Christian inhabitants, they let you invade Europe and the US and attempt to destabilise those countries, they let you slaughter the poor black Christians of south Sudan, they let the muslims kill a score of Christians and burn their churches in Indonesia etc etc.
Tarek, if you want to be taken seriously, try to examine your history but not the one told by your imams. Then go and visit www.faithfreedom.com and meditate. After that read the book "The Sword of the Prophet" by a scholar of Islam called Serge Trifkovic. Then maybe you will understand what's wrong with the Arabs and the muslims in general.
And please, don't think that all you don't like is anti-muslim propaganda.

Further more, Tarek, you blame the victims of Arab hatred and murders, the Israelis and the Americans because they defend themselves and don't want to be slaughtered in silence. The Jews have experienced this, they went to the nazi death camps and through the chimneys in silence among the indifference of the world. Six millions were annihilated. The few survivors and the children of the slaughtered have decided they will not let that happen again. Don't blame the victim, if the airport searches disturb you so much, try to prevent your terrorists commit crimes against humanity. Before September 11, 2001 you were not searched and this is why you took advantage of western freedom and human rights to commit your massacres.
And, Tarek, if Israel was not mortally threatened by your "peace loving Arab brethren" there would not be a need of a strong army and nuclear weapons (if indeed Israel have them)!

fayiz & tarek
Thank you fayiz for your comments to tarek. May I also suggest the reading of Islam and Terrorism by Mark Gabriel (not his real name) PH.D. former professor of islamic history at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, now if anyone should know about islam he should.
I wonder if you have the nerve to read these books and begin to ask questions of this islam.
I also know that muslems are not allowed to question allah or muhummud, now doesn't that seem strange to you. Even christians are free to do this so they may gain knowledge. If you have the truth it would stand against all questions and not be affraid of questions.
Stop blaiming everything and everyone, let some light into your eyes, you may find the rest of the world is not out to get you, you yourselves will do that.
pbee PS. tarek you didn't answer about the woman who blew herself up-what's her reward and where is it in the quran or hadith.
