UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Sudan won an uncontested election Tuesday to the United Nations' main human rights watchdog, prompting the United States to walk out because of alleged ethnic cleansing in the country's Darfur region.

Sudan's envoy immediately shot back that the U.S. delegation was "shedding crocodile tears," and he accused the United States of turning a blind eye as Iraqi prisoners were mistreated and civilians were harmed in battle. ...Sichan Siv, the U.S. delegate to the council, accused Sudan of having no right to sit on the rights commission because of ethnic cleansing in Darfur where the government is accused of backing Arab militia in pillaging black Africa villages, raping and killing.
"The United States will not participate in this absurdity," Siv said. "Our delegation will absent itself from the meeting rather than lend support to Sudan's candidacy," he said before briefly walking out of council chambers.
He had done the same a year ago when Cuba won a seat on the commission.
Sudan's deputy U.N. ambassador, Omar Bashir Mohamed Manis, said the United States had no right to accuse anyone of human rights violations, after allegations of abuses in Iraq including mistreatment of Iraqis held in U.S.-run prisons
Images of the Iraqi prisoners "are fresh in the minds of all justice-loving people around the world," he said.
The U.S. military is conducting an investigation into the prisoner abuse scandal after news reports and photos broadcast by CBS last week showed Iraqis stripped naked and tormented by U.S. captors.
Manis also referred to Iraqi civilian casualties during a recent siege in Falluja. "This (U.S.) delegation is turning a blind eye to the atrocities committed by the American forces against the innocent civilian population in Iraq, including women and children," he said,
The world is in a bad state when abuses by American soldiers in Iraq, which will be thoroughly investigated and punished, are seriously offered as worse than jihad genocide and slavery in Sudan, which was never a concern of the Khartoum government. Here is just one of thousands of examples.

Yes, it is true that the pictures of the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners are still fresh on the world's mind; however, I wonder what world opinion would be if the press were to present pictures of the ethnic cleansing occurring in the Sudan. Why is it that Muslims seem to be able to get their suffering out to the world, but abuse of Christians by Muslims are taking place in several areas of the world, and it is not made public. Why the double standard?

The reason that Muslims are portrayed as victims of persecution, and not vice versa, is because of the collective guilt of the West. In some people's minds, we're still not absolved of the guilt from our ancestors' atrocities. I don't feel that I'm responsible for people who lived hundreds of years before me, but I do have an obligation not to repeat their actions.
However, many Anglo-Saxons are still caught in paroxysms of remorse, and feel the need to demonize Christianity (the perceived source of the atrocities) and irrationally lionize other ideologies that may not be deserving of merit.
Now, what's truly sickening, above and beyond this collective Politically Correct guilt-trip, is that many Muslims acknowledge the historical barbarousness of their movement, and give their approval, either by commission or omission.
Well they can do some good, when they are not being controlled by backwards, dictatorial, theocratic pricks representing countries under the rule of a certain "peaceful" religion.
Unfortunately for the suffering people of Sudan, the United Nothing is constrained by those of a certain religion to never find any fault with anyone in that religion. Plus, about 30% of the United Nothing efforts are used to single out Israel for condemnation, so they often just don't have time to do anything about anyone else.

The vert fact that CAIR representatives are allowed to come to US Public Schools to speak in the World Studies classes about Islam is horrifying. No other faith is given such access. World Studies classes take students to Mosques - but never to any other religious building - temple, church, etc. Sayings of the Quran are posted on the class room walls, but nothing from any other faith - no Buddhist Suras, nothing from the Torah, the New Testament, the Vedas, etc.
When I tell students and "We are the problem/we caused 9/11" Westerners that Christians were the force behind the Abolition Movement in the USA and Europe which led to slavery being outlawed in the West, I am not believed.
When I tell them that Islam allows for Slavery even today and that currently Muslims take slaves, I am not believed.
When I tell them that Muslim slave traders were in Africa much earlier than any European ones, I am not believed - after all only Europeans - the evil white man! - are vile enough to enslave others.
When I tell them that Islam is anti-woman - giving specific examples from the Quran and the Hadiths, I am not believed....because NO Muslim does that anymore! and/Or I am given Old Testament lines about stoning the adultress, etc - which we all know Jews and Christians still do!
Basically nothing is told about how Africans enslaved and sold other Africans and that the Muslims played a huge role in the slave trade.
The West only hears via its politicians and the majority of the media and the Islamic apologists how Islam is a religion of Peace and that Muslims are being targeted and harrassed daily - We are told nothing about the very ugly Muslim genocide on peoples of any other faith throughout the world - past , present and into the future!

Where are all of the Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharpton, NAACP, ACLU on this issue? I have not seen a single Black American bring this issue up. Did'nt all these guys screen and shout for attention regarding Liberia recently (a problem that they created during the Clinton administration, supporting the new leader that turned out dirty). You can always get a comment from Rev. Jackson and Rev. Sharpton against the white establishment, but you can't get a comment from them on a religious issue.
The US will have to clean this up. The UN will do nothing, and even if they do it will be done wrong. Look at Kosovo, the UN went in and screwed it all up, then the US had to go in and fix the problem.
But of course the UN took credit for it. As they will do in Iraq.

Well, I wonder how much oil money was used in the bribe to get Sudan on the Human Right Commission. When I was at one of our military schools the Islamist really help the local establishments in the following areas
"PROMOTE ALCHOHOL"
"PORNOGRAPHY"
"GAMBLING"
Most of them were drunk, looking a pornography (if they could not find a prostitute)and the gambling was constant.
"HOMOSEXUALITY"
Thay saw nothing wrong with "being with a young boy" at any opportunity.
