Beheadings Fuel Backlash Against Muslims

This AP story (thanks to James) chronicles some ugly anti-Muslim incidents that have occurred in the US since the beheading of Paul Marshall Johnson. If these reports are accurate -- people writing "Kill all Muslims" on mosque walls and that sort of thing -- they are deplorable and inexcusable: targeting innocent people is just the sort of thing the jihadists are despicable for doing, and it is not justified in any way.

However, buried deep in the article, as if it were just another anti-Muslim incident, is this. I have included a couple of the lead-in paragraphs to give you a sense of the context:

In the St. Louis suburb of Ballwin, Mo., vandals painted a swastika and the word "Die" on the wall of the Dar-Ul-Islam mosque.

In Texas, dead fish were dumped near the entrance sign to a mosque under construction in a suburb of Houston.

And in the Chicago suburb of Orland Park, residents urged officials this past week to reject a mosque's building application. A Baptist pastor told a public hearing he feared it would attract Islamic extremists and violence. The center was approved over boos and catcalls from the audience.

Now wait a minute. Swastikas and dead fish are suddenly equivalent to residents urging officials to reject a mosque's building application? When that Orland Park story broke, I asked here what assurance the local Muslims had given area non-Muslims that the mosque would NOT attract extremists. How can any mosque assure people that extremists will not enter and recruit there? What safeguards do American mosques have against Islamic radicalism?

If they would spell this out, answering such questions honestly and openly, they would do a great deal to dispel the suspicions and resentment of people who wonder where their loyalties really lie. And dhimmi articles like this one, which lump people with legitimate concerns in with real hatemongers and bigots, just fuel that resentment.

How does one tell which Muslim is "innocent?" Given the doctrine spelled out in the Qur'an and Sunna for all to read, how does one get from good Muslim, i.e., devout and "orthodox," to the Muslim who feints peace, love, brotherhood, etc., as a manifestation of traditional Islamic taquiyya? There is no room for wiggle in Islam. If a Muslim doesn't buy in whole cloth and practice Islam faithfully, he is deemed a bad Muslim and fit for destruction.

The next big nasty they pull in the USA might eliminate the "Muslim problem" all together. If there are truly innocents, they need to get some balls and let their innocence be known. Americans are excessively tolerant. They allow situations to develop to the extreme, then they take action. The action is total. We could find America mosque-free and any residual Muslims suddenly proclaiming their Christianity or Judaism out of fears of annihilation.

It is now up to "innocent" Muslims to stand up and be counted. If they do not, they will be assumed by irrational mobs to be part of the problem and not part of the solution. Their innocence will wash into the sewers with their blood, and that will be horrible.

It, however, is up to them.

Hall for Muslims Vandalized

Vandals desecrated a controversial Muslim prayer hall being built in Sydney by smearing blood on its walls and leaving pigs' heads impaled on stakes. Pork and related products are forbidden in Islam. A local municipal council had initially refused permission for the hall's construction, saying it could become a hotbed for terrorists. A New South Wales state tribunal later overturned the ruling, and the hall is set to open in October.

the reason they wont stand up is their belief in theocratic elitism ie their religion is greater so us infidels dont count or matter

Of course one must condemn these acts of desecration but they are netherless a signal that a resistamce is beginning to appear against Islamofascism and that in itself will send a message that muslims cannot hide under a veil of peaceful ISLAM and yet not condemn the acts of Islamic Jihad which have appalled the western world.
When I hear about nationwide friday night sermons condemning jihadists who behead innocents as murder and all the other horrors, i might feel more sympathetic.
The western Churches have been preaching mea culpas for yonks, but not a word from the mosques.
Intil then, these are not acts of persecution but acts of unlawful protest .

And another thing
look up the desacration and destruction of historic churches in KOSOVO, then what happened to a pakistani who left rubbish piled up against the wall of a mosque.

Much as I hate violent jihad, I cannot condone the attacks on the mosques. The USA (and, I suppose, Australia, too) is a country that supposedly upholds the rule of law rather than the law of mob action. The answer to the jihadi problem is the heightened surveillance of the sort that was in place since Ashcroft took charge, and tough penalties for those proven to be perpetrators or supporters of terrorism.

I'm not entirely sure that I believe in the validity of the accusations. Michelle Malkin wrote an excellent expose' about supposed hate crimes perpetrated against muslims. What she found was that the "hate crimes" were hoaxes perpetrated by muslims. The reasons for these hoaxes were varied, ex., false arson to collect insurance money, attention, agenda's, etc. She issued a call, and I believe the offer still stands, for law enforcement to send her the reports of these supposed hate crimes for her to investigate.

Well, the problem with the muslims is they always want to be treated fairly. The problem is they don't feel obligated to treat non-muslim the same courtesy.

If one mosque in the west get vandalized by some rascal punk, the muslim begin to cry a river and make a big fuss about it. But when hundred of churches, temples & synagogues were burnt in the muslim countries, they get silenced. How long does this hypocracy will continue?

The Saudi Arabia government did not allow any of non-moslem place of worship build there but yet they continue to support building many mosque in non moslem country. This is very unjust!

In my humble opinion we should treated them the same manner that they've treated us! If they won't allow us to build church/temple/synagogue in their "muslim" lands, we should also forbide them to build mosque in our "infidel" lands.

"Justice is served"

I think it is ridiculous to think there will not be a back lash against Muslims living in America. Most "Jack Citizens" do resent the open murder of their fellow Americans for nothing more than the crime of being American. If we are in need of, but lacking leadership in combating these atrocities, then this will breed or enhance a militia mentality.

You can't combat Islam with words. They do not hear non Muslims. We are like braying donkeys to them. (per the Quran) Let the city counsels in some misguided sense of political correctness approve terror recruiting centers (Mosques) in their neighborhoods. If it will take a few more 9-11's to wake this sleepy old dog then so be it...Let the games begin...Or as the kindly old Judge/Referee, Mills Lane says...Let's get this on and get it decided!

This kind of vandalism is simply wrong - we shouldn't sink to their level.

But the reporting is misleading. Moral equivalence again.

Vandalism is never a good thing. I think that many Americans are angry and frustrated with what we see these thugs doing in the Middle East. They feel that their hands are tied. This doesn't excuse the vandalism by any stretch, but we are a proud nation, and the frustration seems to be building. Rightfully so.

Perhaps if every aggravated American citizen took the time to sit down and write or e-mail the Government, as well as the major news outlets, letting their unhappiness being known, something could be done. Dead fish, that's a Mafia trick, and old Mafia trick.

I do agree that no more mosks should be built on our soil, at least until Islam reforms. Sorry, but I've seen enough of the "religion of peace"

We owe Muslims nothing. They've stepped on our toes for far too long. Their expectations of us to adapt to their culture is inexcusable, and extremely arrogant on their part.

Vandalism occurs when people so frustrated with the status quo that they are willing to risk jail for their actions. I'm surprised that it's taken this long for it to start showing up. However, I think we should bear this in mind -- these are just the cases that the press have reported upon. Methinks they have found the tip of the iceberg.

I'm not saying that I endorse these actions, by the way. I'm saying that I share in the frustration and hurt expressed by the vandals. Maybe if I put a pig sticker on my car and on my front door the jihadis would leave me alone? *laughs*

I suppose I should feel sorry about the vandalism but I don't feel sorry.Only property was damaged no one lost their life.Muslims routinely fail to condemn acts of violence and terror against non-Muslims. Some Muslims actively support attacks against innocent Isreali civilians including the murder of children. Therefore, I'm not going to get worked up about a few acts of vandalism against Muslims, afterall it's not as if someone had their head cut off.

I don’t agree with vandalizing other people’s property. However I can understand how Americans feel when their citizens are being murdered simply because they are Americans. (Koreans as well.) I do not want anymore muslims in Canada, as citizens or visitors. I certainly do not want them building mosques in my neighborhood.

“Your grandchildren will be making molatov cocktails and driving by the local mosque.”

I fail to see the reason for such outrage due to vandelism!

I also fail to see the reason for hearings on treatment of prisoners that were in civilian clothes fighting for a terroist orginization.

I also fail to see WHY THE F--K no one was as outraged about the beheading of Nick Berg, Paul Johnson, Kim Son Il.

I have seen the videos, I have seen the pictures. I have even heard our own "fearless leader" in his less than eloquent speeches tell us that Islam is a religion of "peace". Now I don't know for sure if he meant "Peace" or "Piece", as in piece of s--t. I do not think it was the latter.

I am outraged that some hillbilly Texan would put dead fish at the building of a mOsque. Couldn't they find a pig somewhere?
