Secret plans to stop the spread of extremism among young Muslims. Do they include ways to counter the radicals' interpretation of the Qur'an and Sunnah? Downing Street has drawn up secret plans to prevent the spread of extremism among young Muslims after confidential studies found that there are up to 10,000 "active" supporters of al-Qa'eda in Britain.Reports commissioned by the Government, details of which were leaked to The Sunday Times, found that many young Muslims are recruited from among the poor and jobless, who are regarded by al-Qa'eda chiefs as more susceptible to exploitation.
According to a Whitehall audit, Muslims are three times more likely to be jobless than the average member of the population.
The studies also cite evidence from MI5 that al-Qa'eda is seeking out middle-class recruits in universities. There are also recruitment operations in schools.
In March Sir Andrew Turnbull, the Cabinet Secretary, initiated a strategy to try to establish the roots of discontent among young Muslims.
Dozens of Whitehall officials have been ordered to work on how to improve relations with the Muslim community and to encourage Muslim clerics to adopt moderate views.
Radical imams will be thoroughly vetted and, if they do not agree to comply with the Government's demands, will be barred.

Rubbish! I think you will find that most of the Muslim community is at best indifferent towards the west and non-Muslims in general. To describe them as "very responsible people" would be to assume they have done, and are currently doing all they can to root out the so called “militants” within their mist. Unfortunately, there is not a shred of evidence that this is happening on a large scale in the UK or anywhere else. On the contrary, we've been treated to a barrage of whining, ever greater demands and threats from far too many in the Islamic community.
It is telling that in the almost three years since the attack on the world trade center, there has not been one sizable demonstration by Muslims condemning the attacks, anywhere. Muslims have however been anything but shy in marching in large numbers, first against any US action in Afghanistan, then in protest over Iraq.
Contrast this with the recent Madrid bombing, where in the initial aftermath ETA seemed likely the prime candidate. The Basque people came out in their hundreds of thousands the day after to protest the bombing and ETA.

What could it be??? The fickle English weather? NHS waiting lists? High fuel prices? It's a most perplexing mystery, and I'm glad we have a safe pair of hands like Sir Andrew to deal with the matter.
The government think that the MCB and MAB are moderates which couldn't be further from the truth... but the country will wake up when it's too late and we see terror attacks in London --- and then they'll just blame Israel and the Jews!

Or "Muslims Against the Jihad." And then count the turnout of those who are, from the Muslim point of view, turncoats. Won't be large. Taqiyya has its limits.
Why should British Muslims adopt moderate views when perhaps soon they will be in the driver's seat. Imagine a thousand-year old culture will "disappear" into the maw of Islam without even a whimper. And the Muslims will have contributed very little to the achievements of the British, but to the victor go the spoils!
I hope that the British can pull their feet from the fire very soon before all is lost, but, do they have the will?
It could be a good idea to introduce some kind of surveilance in mosques, to start with. Notably, the Muslims have never tolerated the critics and detractors of their faith. The calumny of Islam is penal with death under the Shari'ah, however it's totally OK with vilifying the Judeo-Christian West in every conceivable way.
Another undeniable contradiction in the peaceful religion of Islam: hypocrisy (munafaqah) is purportedly deemed deplorable, but not if the war against the infidel is in question. Here the ends justify the means, if Sir Andrew Turnbull is still unaware.

I am sure that this is not true, but I did read that Prince Charles has secretly converted to Islam. If true, this could explain much that is happening in Britain. I hope I was misinformed.

Remember the uproar when he stated that he wanted to be "Defender of the Faiths?" He is a Spiritist and way out in left field. This is why so many Brits have wondered if Prince William is the better man for the job. Prince Charles is a loon and they know it.

Perhaps you didn't hear about it in Britain because of the official gag order the government has on news about peers, etc. If true, this is very explosive, don't you think!

Isn't it amazing that the government is willing to waste millions of pounds to try and placate the Muslims in the UK. What kind of message does this send out to Muslims, that threats bear fruit, if the government is willing to give money just because they see a few Muslims becoming extreme imagine how much money they will get if a bomb goes off in London!
I work in local government and the Muslims are the biggest leeches, they hardly ever work, pay no taxes and claim money from the dole. Look at other immigrant communities, Hindus, Sikhs and Chinese, they make a great contribution to Britain. Do they ever burn British flags, or declare they want to convert Britain to their religon?
The Blair government is blind to what is happening. Instead of doling out money to these scum maybe making them work instead of living off the state might take away all the spare time they have to hate the country
