Well, maybe there wasn't a sign-up sheet, but what exactly constitutes recruitment? If it isn't recruitment to include material justifying suicide bombings and contribute money, what is?

A hypothetical: Should I create and maintain a website that would propose the recruitment of skinheads to rampage throughout Muslim neighborhoods for the purpose of creating mayhem there, would I not be arrested and prosecured for inciting violence. If I raised money to outfit, equip,, train and support such people, would I not be guilty of contracting violence?

Funny thing about Reza and Mahmoud: Although I only have anecdotal evidence to support this claim, it seems to me that those who are most ardent about pushing you to believe as they do are generally those with the weakest faiths, and not the other way around. Reza's incessant "your grandchildren will be muslims" statement coupled with mahmoud's generally incomprehensible yet entertaining rants reveal them to be nothing more than totalitarian apologists.

Signs reading "no guns allowed" are coming down in some Ohio stores and restaurants.
Ohioans For Concealed Carry said it was pleased to announce that two national chains, Southwest Ohio Kroger stores and Perkins Family Restaurants, had "begun removing discriminatory signs banning concealed handgun license-holders from their stores."
So far, at least nine national chains and nearly 50 other businesses have removed their signs and opened their doors to holders of Ohio concealed-handgun licenses, the group said.
In a letter announcing the removal of the signs, Marc Teaberry, the executive vice president of Perkins Family Restaurants, noted that the restaurant chain had "numerous locations in Pennsylvania, which has always had a concealed-weapon law, and have never had any problems." Teaberry said that the company, in posting the signs, had received "bad advice" from its attorneys.
Ohioans For Concealed Carry said it also had received reports that Kroger stores in the Cincinnati Division (which includes greater Dayton) had begun removing their "no guns allowed" signs.
"It is not yet known if this action is in any way related to the assault and robbery of a 70-year-old Kroger customer outside a posted store on May 23," Ohioans For Concealed Carry said in a press release.
The group's Business Education Task Force says it has been working to "educate business owners about the facts surrounding concealed carry." The campaign includes a "do not patronize" list of businesses that carriers of concealed guns are advised to avoid.
"Ohioans already are being forced to learn that businesses on the Do Not Patronize While Armed list are dangerous places to be," said Chad Baus, OFCC spokesman. "Already, customers and employees at 10 retail stores and banks on the list have experienced violent criminal encounters. And that's just the ones we know about."
Ohioans For Concealed Carry says it wants business owners understand that it's in their own best interests to remove the "no gun" signs and allow the concealed-carry law to work.

This person has been found not guilty and that as they say is that. Though I would love to see him charged under federal civil rights laws for inciting violence and hate speech. At the very least he can no longer fly under the radar, he is on the governments radar now.

Unless he is a "revert" to Islam, which his language suggests he most likely is. "Reverts" do not always react quite to certain things as do those brought up in Islam; pigs, which are a source of real horror and disgust (far more than non-Muslims realize -- this horror and disgust is much stronger than the "no eating of pork" of observant Jews, and is almost hysterical in nature (hence the horror, in Muslim audiences, at the prospect of watching a character named Miss Piggy with Kermit the Frog -- just not conceivable, simply unthinkable for Muslims).
But should one bother to reply to these people, to take notice of them, to insult them? Why not ignore them, and get on with the sole task that matters: alerting as many people as possible about this site, and hoping that they will visit it, regularly, and that of others performing something like the same pedagogic function, those of Ibn Warraq and Ali Sina and Bat Ye'or, where people who live in countries where it is virtually impossible to get the political leaders to articulate the real problem, and als also impossible, save in a few remarkable cases, to have certain stories covered (many of the stories covered here), much less given any prominence.
If everyone who comes to this site would add the duty of, each day, telling 5-10 people about the site, and recommending it, and then, with some of them, following up to make sure they do look at it, at least once, and possibly learn not only to look at the latest postings but to look through the archive of past articles and postings, that would be most helpful.
Better living through education. If the government and the media are too inhibited or afraid to tell the truth, then this site, and others like it, have a responsiblity to discharge, and that is what they are doing. But the audience has to be come, has to realize the importance of auto-didacticism when it comes to Islam. There is no other way. Alas.

Marines, Iraqis use water project to break new ground in forging relationship of partnership
AL KABANI, Iraq(June 9, 2004) -- Marines from 1st Force Service Support Group joined with the leader of this fishing village, as well as a local Iraqi government official, to break ground June 8, 2004, for a $146,000 water purification system here.
During the ceremony, leaders of 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, were pleased to learn that the project to bring clean water to community residents will also now encompass a second village nearby, potentially tripling the number of Iraqis to be helped.
The visit allowed the unit's commander, Lt. Col. , to meet personally with the village leader and a local Iraqi government official to ensure all parties were satisfied with the incoming system.
Lt.Col also brought 24 Marines and sailors with him to deliver candy, toys, coloring books, crayons and packets of school supplies to the children, while corpsmen assessed the villagers' medical needs.
The unit has "adopted" Al Kabani and visits its residents regularly. Families of the troops ship the donated goods from the United States, so that their Marines can give them to the Iraqi villagers.
"We're very thankful," said the village's leader.
Over the past few months, Lt.Col has attempted to build a strong relationship between himself and the leader.
"I don't see him as often as I would like, but when I do see him, we do good things," said Lt.Col, a 42-year-old native of Winfield, Kan.
Now those good things are spreading to others.
At the direction of Iraq's water ministry, Thaer Handala, representative for the Khaldyah district, incorporated the second village after surveying the project site with engineers a day prior to the Marines' visit and finding that he could do the extra work without any additional cost.
To survive, the approximately 1,000 residents of this village have had to hand-carry and boil water from a nearby lake to drink, a process that still left bacteria in the water and caused numerous health problems.
"This project is very, very important to them because that is the only drinking water they will have," said Handala.
Marines from the reserve infantry battalion, who provide security at nearby Camp Taqaddum, have delivered 3,000 gallons of purified water every two weeks since April and plan to do so when necessary until this project is complete and the people have their own.
"Things are happening for the town. It's very good for us," said Cpl. , a driver with the battalion and a 23-year-old native of Springfield, Mo.
The project, which is expected to serve fresh water to as many as 3,000 Iraqis, will also bring jobs to the area, said Handala. He promised the village leader that very few workers would be brought from elsewhere to complete the project.
"Anybody that needs a job from the village will have work," said Handala, speaking to the community leader during the ceremony.
Marines plan to visit the site regularly to assist with the project, if necessary, and to ensure "the dollars are spent wisely," said Lt.Col. Yet, considering the benefits, fresh water for two villages, employment opportunities and the chance for Marines to work side-by-side with the Iraqi people at building their infrastructure, the cost is secondary.
"You can't put a dollar value on that," LtCol said.
Al Kabani, like many rural Iraqi villages, hovers in poverty after being overlooked by Saddam Hussein's regime.
"Saddam had millions of dollars. He never did the water purification for the village," said Handala.
Hussein invested much in stockpiling weapons, which now litter the countryside.
"My battalion, we uncover weapons caches. We have blown up hundreds and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, the cheapest of which cost a hundred dollars a piece," said LtCol. "Some of them probably cost in the tens of thousands of dollars."
"If that money had been spent for the benefit of the Iraqi people, how much further ahead would they be?" he said.
A Coalition Provisional Authority program that allows commanders to identify and support civil affairs projects in their area funded the contract, said 1st Lt. Johnny , a 1st FSSG disbursing officer and a 31-year-old native of Artesia, N.M.
Marines fronted Handala $100,000, and will make two more installments of $23,000 as work nears completion. The contract for the work was signed on June 4, 2004, by Handala and the Marines. The job is expected to be completed by the end of June.
The project is just one among many the Marines have launched aiming to improve the Iraqis' quality of life.
"It's what we hoped for from the Americans," said the village leader after the ceremony.

It sounds as though a new religion is subsuming Islam in its ideology.

UFO wave in Iran: His Holiness RAEL said it was real!
Iran, April 30th - His Holiness RAEL, leader of the International Raelian Movement, said that the UFO wave in Iran was real. He said that they are spacecrafts from the ELOHIM, also called Allah by Muslims, and that they are appearing because they are watching the middle east confict and are afraid that it escalates into a devastating nuclear world war destroying their creation.
The ELOHIM, also known as Allah or God, where those who created all life on Earth a long time ago using DNA and genetic engeneering and who sent all the great prophets of Old like Moses, Jesus and Muhammed. They want us to build an Embassy so that they can come back on Earth with all the prophets who are still kept alive on their planet called 'the Garden of Allah' in the Koran.
They want to come back to bring peace. If all life on Earth is destroyed through a nuclear world war they will save the righteous people working for peace and love, and recreate them through cloning to live eternally in the Garden of Allah, as written in the Koran. RAEL is the Mehdi who was announced a long time ago.

The above is a perfect example of classic fascist pedantics - First,the false premise based upon historical revisionism, "We continue to apply, etc." Then the smug condescension of barely concealed contempt, "Sometimes good minds refusing, etc." which fades into thinly-veiled threat, "Events may destroy illusion" that's tied off with a seductive but insidiously false assumption disguised as a Franklin-esque epigram (from Poor Adolph's Almanac, one assumes)
First of all, who's "we"?
Secondly,we good minds do apply the rules and lessons of previous conflicts (like the fact that more Americans lost their lives in one day at the battle of Antietem than on 09/11), that's why there is no "new reality" (a cornerstone of fascist and fantasy ideology)to acknowledge,because the only "events"(like the burning of the Reichstag) that "may destroy illusion"(meaning what you perceive as everyone else's illusions - namely life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness)will be those your own invention or facilitation. And finally,the real Franklin epigram went something like "Those who are willing to sacrifice liberty for peace deserve neither." It was as true in Franklin's day as when the British burned the White House, Sherman marched to the sea, Atlanta was burned, Lincoln was assasinated,the Lusitania was sunk,Pearl Harbor was bombed,Americans of Japanese descent were interned, Italians and Greeks had the same 3/4 civil rights as blacks because they too had come from Africa,the Oklahoma City Federal Building was bombed, as it is in the present day.
Of course,what good are the founding fathers to a revisionist?

Lily and Hugh: Clearly, the two of you have a legal backround...my main strength is International Humanitarian Law, and being a stickler for the fundamentals. Right now, there's a conservative radio personality in either Uganda or Somalia on trial for his life. It seems his daily conservative rants during the massacres have come under scrutiny as having facilitated the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands.He's claiming free speech,that he was entitled to his opinion, but transcripts of his broadcasts apparently have him giving times and locations as a sort of "public service" to the local armed forces.
Are you aware of any of this? It'll be interesting to see how emerging nations handle such challenges to their fragile constitutions in light of our own ongoing debates...I'll see what I can find online about his trail and post the links on this thread in the near future.
We should all be proud of ourselves - you too, dby - our work (and play) on these pages would thrill Jefferson and his contemporaries on both sides of the Atlantic. And we influence more people worldwide than I suspect we can even imagine.
