Paris was 'apparent target' for arrested militants

A suicide attack in Paris has been apparently headed off. From Reuters, with thanks to Nicolei:

On Monday, Italian police arrested Rabei Osman Sayed Ahmed, known as "Mohamed the Egyptian" and suspected of playing a lead role in the Madrid train bombings that killed 191 people in March. A second man was arrested as part of the raid.

Belgian police, acting on information from Italy, then arrested 15 people they said were preparing for an attack.

The warrant, used to detain Ahmed and the other suspect in Milan, quotes members of the group as saying they planned a rehearsal of an attack in Paris using mobile phone technology. The Milan prosecutor's office said the method was similar to that used in the Madrid bombings.

Again, cell phones. And the guy they picked up in Texas some months back, was selling cell phones. One wonders how many others (in the US or Canada illegally or otherwise) are also selling cell phones to support themselves (and their Jihad).

GRATSIAS! To the Italian Law Enforcement Commumity! The European community in general has dealt with terrorism ( the international type ) much longer than we have over here in the States. I have a lot of confidence in them and they will kick the Jihadist asses at the end of the day.

The Madrid Massacre was terrible but none the less far less tramatic than 9/11 over here. I don't think you will ever see a 9/11 scale attack being pulled off in Europe. That was just a mega screw up on the part of Intelligence/Law Enforcement here.

In Europe when there is a big screw up and thousands suffer, some one is held accountable in government and heads roll. Change is made to prevent it from happening again. We should learn from that over here in the States.

Or should I say remember that. For we used to do that over here like during 1940's, Pear Harbour some high brass took a fall and was replace with men who had one purpose in mind .....defeat the enemy.
