You would never get the impression from this AP story (thanks to LGF) that this Saudi imam who spoke in London was anything but a moderate, reasonable Muslim voice calling for peace and harmony between Muslims and non-Muslims. You would never get the idea, say, that he ever called Jews "evil offspring, infidels, distorters of [others'] words, calf-worshippers, prophet-murderers, prophecy-deniers... the scum of the human race 'whom Allah cursed and turned into apes and pigs," and "an ongoing continuum of deceit, obstinacy, licentiousness, evil, and corruption." But he did.

I think that Prince Charles wants to be as popular as he can amongst all the different groups in Britain. He is quite a regular visitor to synagogues too apparently, such as the one on Bevis Marks.
I'm not sure whether he is doing this for altruistic reasons or whether he is feeding his ego.
I've also heard it said that he wants to change the title of the monarch from 'Defender of the Faith' to "Defender of Faiths'.
Personally I don't really feel very comfortable witht that as it means that Islam will become an official religion of the UK, giving it more respectability and strenghtening its position.
For this reason, I'm hoping that the Queen will live for as long as her mother. As the national anthem says 'long to reign over us, God save our Queen'.

Reading between the lines, I'd bet that the deluge of complaints received by the Canadian government (including my seething letter to Irwin Cotler, Canadian Justice Minister), caused the Canadian government to advise the organizers of this islamist hatefest that this Jew hater would be considerd persona non grata in Canada.

Don't be too hard on Charles Windsor. The title "Defender of the Faith" was given to Henry VIII by the Pope for the former's writing a tract against Luther; and somehow stuck after Henry went Protestant himself.
