Underwear ads removed after they anger Muslims

Muslims are angry about billboard ads placed near mosques that feature four nearly naked women. I'm not offended that these ads were taken down; after all, they're imposing their values on me just as much as the jihadists want to. Nonetheless, their removal is still an example of dhimmitude; there is not the slightest doubt in my mind that if, say, a church group had asked for removal of these ads, they would have been met with contempt and cries of censorship. From SkyNews, with thanks to Ali Dashti:

Complaints were made after the image appeared on billboards next to mosques in Leeds and Greater Manchester. ...

Triumph International, which owns the Sloggi brand, said it told its contractors to avoid using poster sites near mosques.

So does this mean that Mosques can be taken down because they may offend us?

now what they need to do is put up an add for the movie babe [the one about the pig]. after the complaints replace it with a dog food advertisement. and keep repeating it till the brits realise that the mosques are dictating what they can do. why do you brits put up with this stuff?

It goes to show just how much Muslims fear women.

But, DC is right. If tolerance isn't in the islamic vocabulary, why do Brits tolerate mosks?, Turbans? Burkas? All these things are offensive to me.
The Koran itself is offensive.

ban it.

If Muslims try that in the United States, they will have to overcome the hurdle of the decision in "Grendel's Den" (the case in which Laurence Tribe prevailed, but not on the little matter of the enormous fees he wanted to charge the state). And anyone found to be exhibiting pusillanimity in the face of Muslim threats could face a boycott by non-Muslims, even if it is undeclared.

Jimmyclaw is right, we should put up all manner of equally delicious replacements. Yum.

"Victoria's Secret at all costs, Victoria's Secret in spite of all terror, Victoria's Secret however long and hard the road may be; for without Victoria's Secret there is no survival."

Churchill, revised and updated as the age demands, June 2004.

actually, I sort of thought having Playboy magazine sent in the Immam's name... multiple copies. all with the 'bill me later' checked on the application...

Yet again we are witnessing muslims pushing the envelope, whining and threatening with the purpose of seeing just how far they can extort concessions, exemptions and privileges from the local authorities.

What next? Will ads for alcohol also be banned near mosques? Ads with dogs in them? Ads with pigs in them? All ads with women not wearing a tent?

The list is almost endless. When one caves into a particular group that uses threats to get its own way, one can only expect more of the same.

If muslims are now objecting to this ad, then you can bet that threats against pubs and bars in or near Islamic areas will not be that far off. Would you ever hear about it? Probably not. Way beyond the headlines, in countless little incidents like this, the war is being fought right in front of our noses, on a street by street, city block by city block level across a vast number of cities in the Western world.

Don't think this would fly in the US since if anyone got wind that muslims or any other religious group were being treated with favoritisim there would be complaints or a lawsuit.I'm sure people remember muslim children being allowed to pray in schools in NY (in violation of the law) while Christian children were forbidden. As soon as that was discovered a lawsuit was filed and all prayers were stopped.Daniel Pipes said in one of his books that muslims seek to have preferences established for Islam so that Islam is treated not as equal to other faiths but as superior.

Actually there was a hideous nearly soft porn ad for Sex in the City that was put up on a billboard on a major crossroad in my town and a bus driver from a Christian elementary school (whose route passed there every day), a mom and I requested that it be taken down. Our mayor called the billboard company who then removed it to the relief of the moms in our subdivision. The reason I gave the mayor was that I felt that it was offensive and since there are few other roads in this area we all had no choice but to see that billboard whereas people can chose to look at an internet site or buy a porn magazine or view a movie.

This is the same reason I am 100% against the Muslim call to prayer in a town, people have no choice in the town not to hear it and it limits the freedom of others who do not want to hear the vile name of the false god and the vile praise to the name of the diety praised by the 9-11 mass murderers and homicide bombers and the others who follow the false god who calls evil good and what is good evil.

I buy Playboy magazines. I cut out the pictures of naked women, go to book stores and stick them in copies of korans.

The underwear ads should be replaced with billboards calling for Jihad and the subjugation of the infidel.
Perhaps in this way the blinkered brits might get the message.
IO would willingly donate fifty bucks to help reveal the aims of islam to the general public.

They can take down the underwear ads, but remember they still can stop the Western culture in which we all live. When we turn on the television, we see western values; when we go to the movies, we see stories and dramas about human beings in western society. Ditto for the theatre.
Just imagine if you turned on the TV and saw muslim characters living lives which revolved around the Koran. How successful would a series like that be? No-one would end up watching television.
We will win in the end.

Sorry. I should have said that they CANNOT stop the Western culture in which we all live.

Screw this I'm a DJ playing hard trance and techno and we get loads of scantily clad women at our raves. I'm gonna hook up with our party organizers and throw a massive illegal rave outside a mosque and get everyone to strip at midnight.

Hey do you think maybe the reason there is such an uproar about this kind of thing maybe that because muslims aren't allowed to be gay there are so many closet homosexuals among them and many more who are unsure which way they swing?

Now we know where the mummies in the pyramids came from, they must bury their women with clothes on too!!!
Muslim women must be the sweatiest mommas on the planet walking around desert towns with more clothes than Calvin Kleins wardrobe on!!!

Rikki, set up your street party outside the mosk on friday evening, but don't wait till midnight to strip. Do that when prayer lets out. I recommend you strip down but keep your gun belts on. Muslims are violent after friday prayer.

The underwear company on its way to dhimmitude is Sloggi. Anyone got an email address for their marketing manager in Britain? (They're Swedish, I believe.) Or does anyone know who their ad agency in Britain is, so we can explain the facts of life to them?

Second, all other arguments apart, why on earth would Sloggi cares if it's offending Muslims? Britain is 94% white (not in some areas, but over all). Now they've offended British natives. How stupid is that? What normal woman shopping for underwear is going to see Sloggi in the store and not pass them up with a sneer?

Ah. me! Do you suppose there's some connex with those Abu Ghraib prisoners forced to wear ladies' knickers on their heads?
