Of course, this means the fighting will get harder all we have to do is make sure people within our own sphere of influence realise that if we lose in Iraq, they will be coming to America in force.

Apparently the Bush "honeypot" doctrine is working. Think of it as a "build it and they will come" concept on steroids.

The United States has taken the fight to the jihadists. Instead of pulling up the bridge and battening down the hatches in fortress America and waiting for the jihadists to lay seige (like the Spanish cowards), the Americans have set up a honeypot to attract jihadists from around the Islamic world. Like cockroaches drawn to sugar, the jihadists find themselves compelled to respond to the American stick that is poked so firmly into their eye and in their own neighborhood. But instead of taking on the local sheriff in the streets of Mayberry, they are faced off against the United States Army, Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy armed with precision munitions, "we own the night" snipers, A1M1 tanks, Apache helicopters, AC130 gunships, etc. If there is any collateral damage, it is unfortunate but it is not American. And while they're waiting for the Americans to appear at their doorways and windows, the Marines are coming at them through the concrete walls and ceilings.

And what a coincidence! If the Saudi royal family implodes next door, the United States has "pre-positioned" all the military assets necessary to secure the stability of the world's oil supply. Now who would have thought that?!

The Chinese are especially keen on keeping their economic reforms on track so they are particularly interested in avoiding any energy market disruptions which might translate directly into political instability that in turn could very easily morph into a civil war involving a billion people a la 1949.

Historically, international coalitions have been very short lived. So for long run strategies a unilateral approach is most effective. When you wake the giant you had better have a long run plan because he certainly has one for kicking you and your buddies off the planet. From 9/11 forward, the Bush administration has been executing a very, very long run plan. That's why the Bush administration's attitude toward complex multilateral arrangements have been of little concern for there is no shortage of historians in the United States to remind the president daily of how ethereal such coalitions have proven to be in the past.

All wars are wars of attrition. This is no different. It would serve the jihadists well to remember that the United States put 10 million men in uniform virtually overnight in 1942. It is even more capable of doing it today than it was then. It's up to the jihadists to decide whether they want to find out where the edge of that envelope is located. It is also the only nation on Earth to have actually USED nuclear weapons on its enemies.

A knowledgeable Fox commentator (not the weatherman) said this morning this is likely a tactical feint. I think what we're looking at is a real catfight shaping up across the region. This will occur during the presidential campaign, between the conventions and the election. Here's what to expect.

Step one -- Al Queda gets close enough to the Saudi throne with high explosives. It is very clear AQ operates with impunity in Saudi and with complicity of much of the security apparatus. Boom goes the royals. That's step one: Civil war in Saudi, leading to a threatened AQ takeover. Paralysis here and Europe.

Step two -- the Iraqi militias who have been nice enough to lie down for us on cue will now rise up full rearmed by Iranians and regrouped strategically throughout Iraq. And that's step two: All hell breaks out in Iraq once again.

Step three -- terror attack in London or US. Something with poison in it. Almost undoubtedly radioactive, just to put us in the mood for step four.

Step four -- Iran, nuclear tipped and pushing its troops towards Iraq. And just as we get ready to do something about it, at the same time one of several things might happen: China attacks Taiwan, or North Korea attacks the South.

Step five: Bush or Kerry? Looks like as clear a case for ultra-nuanced multi-lateralism as anyone's ever seen. Especially since, well, just look at where W's policies have brought us.

Even Al Sadr is trying to weasel his way into a political role now that his military junta was splattered against the walls of Iraqi slums.

Step 3
You think terrorists are waiting for political conventions to attack? That implies they have the luxury of time, sufficient funds, intelligence, and personnel. They are short on all of the above, and haven’t shown a great deal of competence in America since 9/11. I’m not saying they won’ try some sort of attack, but I simply doubt they have the technical capability of pulling it off.

Step 4
You’ve been up to late. Get some sleep. Iran does not currently have nuclear weapons capability. They aren't close. I know this because Israel hasn’t bombed them yet. As for you other two theories, they leave out the fact that even while we are engaged in Iraq, we still have more than enough global force to make any incursions by the Chinese or North Koreans extremely costly. Besides, we might just get nervous and turn them into smoking rubble,
and they are just a bit too calculating to risk that.

As to your thougful comments, I can't help but think Saud is up for grabs. Just by what you say, there are pro and anti AQ factions. If civil war breaks out, keep in mind that Islam and the left has now established that no infidels are allowed to set their military boots on the peninsula. If we "went in there" everybody in the world would start moaning about the "holy" sites. Bush would have to swear back and forth and up and down that we would stay 100 miles away from Mecca and Medina.

15 convicted of terrorist plot in Jordan

AMMAN, Jordan - Jordan's military court convicted 15 men -- all but one of whom remain at-large -- today for a terror conspiracy targeting unspecified American and Israeli interests in Jordan as well as Jordanian intelligence officials.
The court said it found Ahmad Mahmoud Saleh al-Riyati, 34, to be the mastermind of the 15-member terror cell linked to al-Qaida and Ansar al-Islam militant groups. Al-Riyati, the only suspect in custody, was sentenced to 15 years in jail, but the sentence was quickly commuted to 7 1/2 years.
Eight of the other 14 -- 12 of them Jordanians and two Iraqis -- received sentences of 15 years in jail with hard labor.

The islamists in Iraq are running straight into our real strength: our wallet. Relentless expansion of the Iraqi national security team is troubling – for them.

The recent expansion of the Iraqi army and ICDC by infusion from loyal militias – particularly the Kurds – is putting vengeful boots on the ground.

Traitorous ICDC elements are being exposed, cell by cell. It stands to reason that many (most) of the roadside bombs are being set by these players. Providing top ‘cover’ would seem essential to most of the sappers. (It must take a while to dig and prep IEDs; and double agents would be anyone’s first choice for protection.)

The kid gloves need to come off with these spies and saboteurs. They do not merit Geneva protection, and it is essential to increase raw fear in these point men for the opposition. Stressing them with inchoate fear would wear them down often generating nervous ticks.

Many of the criminals have pitched in: turning mercenary. Most kidnappings are cash-for-captives flips, with the criminals working their own scores and turning the product over to Ba’athist/Al-Qaeda crews for a bounty. Dumping the felons to the street last year was in direct anticipation of this teamwork.

Since many of these criminals are drug addicts and homosexuals, and not uncommonly, both: Coalition Forces ought to provide free heroin and methadone for junkies. They should be given three hots and a cot, and isolation from their manipulators. Free heroin is wise because the Afghans have plenty to kick-in and at knock-down prices while its attraction to the addicted is overwhelming. It is a pretty good bet that the opposition is using this ideal cannon fodder.

There are accounts on the web of wholesale drug use by the Islamists during the gunplay at Fallujah. Yep, the Marines found extensive paraphernalia when they cleared out Islamist positions. Now that does explain their lousy aim and the civilian carnage.

Cops and civil defense can’t be effective with their head in a bag.

The martyr and hero brother, Ahmad Shami Abu Abdul Rahman from Al Qamishly city, attacked him with a car stuffed with explosives, and sent him to hell and the most miserable fate …

Muslims,
The Mujahideen were able to accomplish this increasing number of successful operations, at this specific time and at this level of efficiency and precision, using various and diversified means against such different targets... This exceeds its being simply part of a series of passing and continuing operations against the Crusader enemy and its allies, since its invasion of Iraq.

This type of operations is reputed for its destructive impact on the enemy’s soldiers’ morals and spirits inside the country, and their families and people outside of it.
The way the Mujahideen control the timing of their operations is another proof of them possessing power and initiative. Thanks to God.

The above is an important indication of the hope that these blessed operations bring to the hearts. What gives us more hope is that the enemy acknowledges only a very few number of the Mujahideen’s continuing operations in comparison to the actual number. Those undeclared operations seem wasted in the injustice and darkness created by the international media that the enemy controls. They will be rewarded in Heaven, and their effect on Earth shall not be wasted either, with God’s will; I present my congratulations to all the heroes from the Mujahideen; those men are writing their Nation’s history with their blood, and with their skulls they are forming the glories of their religion. They refused to live in humiliation, and discarded the pleasures of the Earth – money, power, and luxury; instead, they sought from God what no eye has seen, nor ear has heard…

In addition to the security, military and economic indications, this operation carried a strong political message to Washington’s allies in its war and aggression on the Islamic Nation; the message to them was that they will not be spared forever by God revengeful hand firstly, nor by the Mujahideen’s [hand] after Him. They must understand that, should they continue this alliance, they had better be prepared to pay the price with their blood and interests. Those who have not understood the message to abandon their support of the occupation, and stop their interception of the Mujahideen, still have time to reconsider their positions before it is too late.

In the end: We call upon Muslims in the whole world to unify and join forces. We also call upon them to assume their full responsibilities in facing this attack by the Crusaders and the Jews. This attack’s main goal is to completely destroy Muslims, erase their ideology, and occupy their land to steal their wealth. Muslims throughout the world must realize that they are capable of doing something against this enemy. We should remove the “victim’s complex” that followed us for more than a century. Those days are gone, and the years of wander and defeat that they enemy wanted us to live in, have been transformed, with God’s permission, to days of victory, dignity and power…

The Military Department of “Attawhid and Jihad Group” headed by Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, posted a communiqué on a Jihadi website, claiming responsibility for the assassination of the Iraqi Governing Council head Ezzedine Salim, referred to in the communiqué as “THE TRAITOR OF THE ‘UMMAH’, AGENT EZZEDINE SALIM”.

The Communiqué stated that: “Once again, the Mujahideen from the Death Battalion are back. They painfully struck the enemies of God, to relay the following message to them: ‘Their corruption of the Earth, occupation of our sanctities, and the crimes they are committing against our people in Iraq, killing women, children and the elderly, violating honors, destroying homes, pulling out trees, and unjustly imposing a siege, shall not pass without similar retaliation. With God’s permission, the effect of the retaliation shall exceed that of their acts. The Mujahideen were truthful in their pledge to God to support His Religion. They have kept their promise to their Nation – and to themselves - to cherish and lift the humiliation off of it, by aiming such strikes at them.

Another lion from the Attahid Wal Jihad took off seeking one of the rotten heads that betrayed God and His Prophet, who sold their religion and their world to their masters, Americans and allies. Muslims, this time, your lion was Abu Salama Al Hijazi from the land of Al Haramain [Saudi Arabia], that is producing more and more of the lions. Our honorable brother was awarded the killing of the head of the Blaspheming Council Ezzedine Salim, along with his bodyguards and other individuals. He killed and injured as many as he could, thanks to God”.

The communiqué calls upon “the ‘agents’ members of the Governing Council and their followers to learn a lesson, and wake up before the swords of the Mujahideen reach them, one after the other”...

This operation announces to Muslims everywhere, that the Mujahideen are supportive of their brothers in Iraq, and that they still possess the power to take the initiative, and strike the enemy, as they judge suitable. The Mujahideen “confirm that they will continue their strikes, with God’s permission, until the whole world knows that the Crusade on Islam and Muslims failed. It will not succeed, and will not have the fruitful results that the Jews and Crusaders desire, simply because it is a war between faith and blasphemy, right and wrong, justice and injustice. God is supportive of His subjects the Mujahideen and the triumph of this Religion.

The Muslims should know that what the Mujahideen have done so far, through their operations, their sacrificing of blood, money and time, is enough proof of this Ummah’s [Nation] capability to give, confront, resist, and triumph, with God’s permission.

On this blessed occasion, we warn the Muslims against falling in the sin of accepting America and its allies’ promises [plans] against the Iraqi Muslims. Muslims must hurry to support their brothers offering what they have, and not allow the American occupation to set foot on their territories. They must resist them in every possible way, to make them feel that the land cannot support them, nor can the sky give them shelter, among enemy peoples who hate them.

“On Thursday dated 17 Rabih Al Awwal 1425 [May 6, 2004], the heroic Mujahid Abu Mitiib from Al Haramain country [Saudi Arabia] – May God have mercy on his soul and accept him - took off in a car loaded with 600 Kilograms of TNT and headed towards what is known by “the Presidential Palace”, main headquarters of the occupation forces and their followers. The Brother was awarded a large number of infidels and apostates.

Muslims,
The enemy often claims that the Mujahideen seek to kill innocent people. Those who were killed today were from the secret police and intelligence, who were waiting for their masters to give them permission to enter the palace. Thanks and gratitude to God.

He plunged into them with his car – God rest his soul – and was awarded the killing of over seventy soldiers – thanks and gratitude to God.

“And thanks to the Almighty God, the blessed operations against the powers of blasphemy and atheism continue,

“For, on Friday dated 11 Rabih Al Awwal 1425 [April 30, 2004], the heroic Mujahid – May he be accepted by God – Abul Walid Al Tunisi [the Tunisian] took off in a car filled with explosives targeting five troop transports, each transporting around fifteen soldiers in the region of Al Yussufiyyah south of Baghdad. Thanks to God above, he was able to achieve a complete destruction of four of them. Pieces of fifty-one soldiers were blown up and scattered in the air from the intensity of the explosion. Thanks and gratitude to God.

The communiqué added that “no matter how powerful America and its parties are, their strength is nothing compared to that of the Almighty”…

A purported letter from Zarqawi to bin Laden, posted to Islamic Web sites Monday night, complains that al-Qaida fighters in Iraq are being "squeezed" by U.S.-led coalition forces, the Associated Press said.
"The space of movement is starting to get smaller," Zarqawi warned. "The [U.S.] grip is starting to be tightened on the holy warriors' necks and, with the spread of soldiers and police, the future is becoming frightening."

Great concept, except for one small detail: it isn't happening. Your Muslim brothers aren't exactly rising up in their millions to crush the infidel, are they? What are they all doing? Surely they can't be scared of the sons of monkeys and pigs? Perhaps they're too busy playing with infidel toys like video games and footballs. Perhaps, like the Iranians, they've had enough of Islam, and are just lying low until the jihad fantasy fades away, and they can get on with their lives in peace, without people threatening to kill them for not praying.

Anti~ I hope that is true. Unfortunately I see a lot of those you describe getting trashed by their own as the Jihadists are forced back into civilian territory... that might be what it takes to get them to rise up against their governments.

The muslims say that them Mohammed was a prophet…now I don’t believe that ….but I do believe that the man was a genius. Over his lifetime he re-wrote the rule book …to his rules, he thought out the box …by linking his religion to the Jewish faith saying that Jesus was a prophet …but that he is the last one after him…really was a masterstroke. People dismiss him as illiterate but unfortunately, he has been extremely successful, he forbids introspection, non-believers…that’s clever.

Getting gullible people to lay their life for anybody/thing is not an easy thing to do…as you see Mohd. Atta (9/11) was a well to do and “educated” man….he had a lot to live for, he lived and trained in America for a copuple of years saw what life opportunities there were …but he still preferred to die.

Ya see, Mohd. Teachings integrated Islam (including Jihad) to the soul of these people , they love death more than we love life. Anybody who dismisses these Jihadists as smalltime nobodies is a fool. Given the correct circumstances a jihadist could do untold damage….the only thing we can do is to try and ensure that the correct circumstances do not happen…an example of this is letting N. Korea and China providing nuclear weapon capability to Pakistan. Instead of bringing down the government, they raid villages and cut the throats of ordinairy Muslims. And look at Iraq. The dome of the holiest Islamic site is damaged, and photos of Iraqis being humiliated in prison are published, and what happens? Nothing. Just business as usual, ie indiscriminate killing of Muslims and non-Muslims alike. The real threat posed by Islam is demographic. It's fine by me if they want to turn their own countries into 7th century pig sties, but I don't want it here.

The Sikhs have been oppressed by Islam for as long as there have been Sikhs. In 1675 Aurangzeb executed Teg Bahadur, father of Govind Singh, for refusing to become a Muslim.
