Chirac: Israeli prime minister not welcome in Paris

Chirac is smarting over Sharon's call for French Jews to flee rising antisemitism in France. That's right, Jacques: shoot the messenger. I'll bet Sharon's heart is broken over this. From CNN, with thanks to cgiddensjr:

PARIS, France (CNN) -- French President Jacques Chirac said says Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is not welcome in Paris until he explains his appeal to French Jews to leave the country, a presidential spokeswoman said.

"A visit by the Israeli prime minister won't be looked at closely until the requested explanation is provided," the spokeswoman said.

Sharon said last weekend that French Jews should consider immigrating to Israel because of the rise in anti-Semitic incidents in France.

Sharon's remarks, which included the charge that France was host to "the wildest anti-Semitism" -- were misunderstood, Jacques Revah, the charge d'affaires of the Israeli Embassy in Paris, told The Associated Press. He said Sharon's comments were only a way of telling Jews they belong in Israel.

"Mr. Sharon had the same message for all Jews in the world, and if he pointed out France, it was to praise the position and the measures France has taken to combat anti-Semitism," Revah told the AP.

An invitation to visit France had apparently been extended to Sharon, but no date had been set, French officials said.

The French foreign ministry said Sharon's remarks were "unacceptable," and other officials described them as an "insult to France."

No: antisemitism, perpetrated by jihadist Muslims in France and largely unpunished by French authorities, is an insult to France.

What a heartbreaker: Sharon is not welcome in Paris. Now he'll be missing out on the residents rolling their toilet water down the street, and seeing people having sex on park benches.

Not only that, he won't be able to witness how the spineless French pander and cater to the Muslims that have infested the country.

I'll bet Sharon is just bewildered and depressed over this missed opportunity.

Why does Chriac want the Jews to stay...after all the muslims he loves soooo much would be much happier...well maybe he figures with the Jews gone the muslims will start attacking christian french citizens...and then he would have to do something...or he realizes the the Jews..WORK and contribute to the social system while the muslims...SUCK the system dry...therefore no jews...less for the muslims...what a dilema for him....

My sister just got back in may from paris(part of a european tour)...she said the people were smelly and dirty for the most part and hugely rude...one guy actually tried to spit on her group in the subway...what a classy group!

There are many ways to express anger, but 'you are not welcome here'? Why say this? If I insulted France, and people cared about what I say, would Chirac say, 'You are not welcome here'?

Isn't this precisely what the rampant, increasingly violent anti-Semitism in France is 'saying' to Jews: 'you are not welcome here'.

Chirac seems to make a Freudian slip. He may not think this explicitly, about French Jews, that is. But he knows that THIS is the message. Rather than speak truthfully about what is going on, he curses Sharon out of, perhaps, a sense of shame.

Europeans don not face the truth about 'the Jewish problem' one more time, and do not recognize the advance of a 'final solution' advocated by a ideological, hateful, irrational mob for what it is.

'You are not welcome here' is perhaps not an insult at all, but ironic good advice.

Folks forget all the ironies of the Holocaust; history in its current phase is playing playing some of the same ironic dirges and very few have the sense, and the courage, to notice.

Chirac is no match for Sharon....Sharon is no nonsense, and Chirac is all nonsense, combined with his typical sneaking and lying. He is a pudd.

What a sad and shoddy display from the king of sad and shoddy displays (Chirac, I mean). I agree it is an interesting study in psychology.

It would be wise for all our Jewish friends to keep those spare bedrooms open. They may be hearing from long, lost relatives they've never heard of fairly soon.

Sharon is all verklempt about this, I'm sure.

Chirac must be vichey french. What a sellout bum. He sold out the jewish people like they did in 39. Shame on him and all the rest of those frog suckers!

If I were Sharon I would make a point of calling the Jews home from France in every speech. Chirac is no friend of Israel. I would elaborate about the large number of Jew-hating Muslims in France and how the native French birth rate is below replacement level. While at the same time the Muslims are having 8-10 kids, reproducing like the vermin they are. The truth always hurts the most.

I spit on your meteorite worshipping bloodthirsty prophet Mohammed, may he rot in pig excrement until eternity.

Ah, but all is not well with Jack Chirac and French govt. Islamic Websites I've visited mean to play the'Persecuted In the Name of my Religion
game' for all its worth in October.Muslims are spoiling for a fight as there's no outright call for Jihad...yet! These 'peaceful and tolerant' souls seem unable to go scarcely a day without hate filled rhetoric against the West. Bread of Charity is bitter indeed, especially from the hands of Infidels. Muslims are out for all they can get in the way of housing, welfare benefits etc but they HATE the givers. Their inferiority complex will never be assuaged until they have either taken over France [and the West] or made it
as poverty stricken, violent and over populated as countries they came from...

France seems to be the cow that the muslims are milking dry...what will hapen after they will kill the cow?!

Adela
They will move on to the next cow...

Sharon has received a compliment. he Joins the ranks of GW Bush, Tony blair and other eastern european enlightened leaders.
Chirac will go down in history as a dunce and a coward who would make even talleyrand look like Napoleon, ( Who was not french ! ).
