Parents are fuming over a letter from a Kuala Lumpur primary school headmaster directing non-Muslim pupils not to bring non-halal food to school.Parents who received the letter had called Zainal Abidin Senapi, headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Mega to complain and seek clarification on its contents.
Zainal’s letter dated July 14 sent to parents and guardians of students read: “Please be informed that non-Muslim students are altogether forbidden from bringing non-halal food to school, forbidden from using canteen utensils, for example forks and spoons, and from throwing rubbish into rubbish bins.”
In the letter made available to malaysiakini, the headmaster also wrote that the matter must be viewed seriously in order to respect Islam as the official religion of the country and to respect the school’s canteen operator.

Yeah, I'd be sorta "sensitive" about my kid being treated like they were diseased or unclean based on what they bring for lunch! Muslims always view themselves as superior to non-muslims. They believe themselves to be 'clean' whilst the rest of us infidels are tainted with the filth of our beliefs (or non-beliefs). It is truly a religeously mandated bigotry against non-muslims. Even the name Pakistan means 'land of the clean.'
Islam is altogether bigoted, prejudiced, and bad for the whole human race.
Reminds me of an equally bizarre episode that I witnessed firsthand as a contract advisor to the national airline of Saudi Arabia in the late 80s. A notice went out forbidding the disposal of newspapers in the dustbin or for using old newspapers like we do in the West, for wrapping fish, washing windows, and the like. Anyone caught doing so would face "extreme" punishment for defaming Islam (and in Saudi Arabia we all know what that means). Special receptacles were deployed to collect old newspapers so that they could be disposed of "properly".
The big issue: newspapers contain quotations from the Koran.
Sidebar: as a coping mechanism we non-muslim contractors would enjoy ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch during Ramadan. We obtained the ham from the non-muslim embassy commissaries.
