Once again: jailing jihadists doesn't do a thing to convince them to stop being jihadists. If someone believes he is on a mission for almighty God, do you really think that a stretch of prison time will make him give it all up and go home? Yet neither the US nor the Pakistani governments can take any official account of this fact, because it would lead them into areas in which they do not wish to go regarding the genesis of Islamic terror. Consequently, a great deal of our anti-terror efforts, particularly when they free jihadists from prison without any attempt to change their beliefs, are utterly inadequate. From HiPakistan:
ISLAMABAD: As many as 650 Pakistani prisoners in Afghan jails have threatened that they would launch Jihad when they were set free, said Abdullah Abdullah, Afghanistan Foreign Minister, here Wednesday."These prisoners are determined to strike against the US and Kabul governments", he said. He was talking to journalists here on Wednesday morning during a breakfast meeting.
He said the prisoners made their intention known to Kabul officials and American investigators who met them before deciding about their fate. He said this caused delay in the release of these detainees.
However, the minister said the Americans had completed the process of screening and cleared majority of the prisoners, who would be handed over to Pakistan.
He said, "It will be interesting to see that how Pakistani government deals with those defiant prisoners who are still ready to fight and die in the name of Jihad."
Oh for the good old days when there was no pussyfooting around or political correctness. As I am against genocide and summary executions, I feel that reprogramming them is the most humane option.
Now, this may be a hard question to answer, but do most people who convert from Islam to other religions stay in that religion, or do they revert to Islam?
In brief, is trying to convert them to another way of thinking a worthwhile endevour?

They are heaven sent compared to being decapitated live on the net in front of millions including (possibly)their parents. Unlikely option. Psychologically speaking, it's primacy over recency. Hence whatever a human learns first is the default mode. Whatever you learn later, you will always tend to *feel* that primary imprinting.

We seem to forget that there are "in name only" Muslims out there along with the Jihadis.
Disband the organized religion, demolish the mosques and stop printing the Qu'ran. While it may not completely quash Islam, it will marginalize it without necessitating whosesale genocide.

I had (sort of) proposed a method, which would have least staved off or slowed the problem of jihad for another generation... but it was deleted. IMHO it was not genocidal but I guess someone thought it was.
It is the same thing done in Canada and the US right now, to some convicted of child molesting / serial rape. Just on a larger scale.

I never mentioned anything about genocide (well not today). I'm talking about these prisoners mentioned in the above story, as well as the ones who were convicted who were in Guantanamo bay. These people are convicted terrorists and deserve the death penalty.
They have even said they are willing to die in the name of jihad --well let's give them there wish.Nut cases like this who will obviously go back to their murderous ways upon release are far too dangerous to be set free, and are a waste of resources keeping them alive in jail. Execution is the fairest method of dealing with them for all parties concerned.

As for the genocide issue I think we cleared that up on Monday didn't we?? My genocidal comment there was partly sarcasm (probably not done in the most tastful style of humour) partly anger.
However seeing some of todays stories-- such as the nuclear weapon on US soil article-- kind of puts all my more bloodthirsty comments in perspective wouldn't you agree?? I joke about genocide, Al qaeda are willing to commit it. And I'm betting that apart from the usual lying apologists , there will be little or no signs of remorse or disgust from the international islamic community if ,god help us, there is a nuclear attack.

According to the basic rules of islam becoming an Apostate is punishable by death and by that I mean: it is not a sin or a crime under islam to kill any apostate whenever and wherever you find them, so switching them from islam is not an option. be merciful and send them to allah when you catch them.

Back in the 1910th, there was muslim rebelion in Philiphine island of Mindanao. General Pershing was in charge of the Philiphine colony, this rebellion had occured by some time. You know what General Pershing done?
He set an example for other muslim rebels. He let some of the captives to be executed by firing squad in public. He ordered the bullet to be covered by pig oil and the deceased to be buried with pig skin. The psychological effect was incredible, there was no muslim rebelion for over 60 years.
Since the muslim blindly believe in their faith. We should use it for our advantage.
Muslim believe if their corpses contacted with something "najis" (filthy/unholly), their soul can't enter paradise.

The Pershing story, while amusing, is by all accounts a myth. In addition, Islamic religious scholars have granted Jihadi's a pass on this, issingin fatwas saying that pork introduced to the body by these methods (projectile or explosive) "don't count."
