The whole point of the so-called 'report' (a disguised editorial, of course) is that Sharon should not have said this because there just insufficient grounds to say such a thing and everyone from French politicians, to Muslim 'scapegoats' and French Jews themselves, think he is a radical, Zionist asshole.

There are few countries on earth where the Jews are more self hating than in france, so many will continue bashing Israel to retain their "Statuses " in french society.

The French are a self loathing lot,(They just don't realize it. First they lead Europe down the road to dhimmitude, then they wonder why their huge Muslim population is turning on them. Would you respect someone who lets you spit on them and their friends?

As for the Jewish people living in that time bomb of a country, they would be best served by heading Sharon`s advice and get out now. Take their assets and families and go. Let the French deal with the riff raff they gladly import.

watching a fascinating program on the ancient ETRUSCANS, i was astounted by their culture abd linbralism. even their slaves were given their own houses!
And life was a continual pursuit of Pleasure.
The Romans stole the Etruscan culture adn even the roman numeral system from them.
So here we have an evolved culture which degenerates into one whose sole purpose is the "good life" adn when the time comes to defend themselves against the "Barbarians" (first the Gauls I believe), they have forgotten the rough uncultured art of self defence! Needless to say the intellectual left would have refused to take up arms and the empire soon vanished almost without trace.
Afterwards, i made the rapprochement to french culture today. Better to appease and pay than defend oneself from the inevitable.

I remember reading some time back about arms in the Roman society. The early Romans were a rugged and probably well-armed lot, not unlike American frontiersmen and farmers before the Revolution. However, by the Imperial days, they were disarmed and indeed looked upon weaponry with disdain, meaning that the Germanic people (who were tough and liked their weapons) had an easy time of it.

The entire process seems to repeat itself whenever a society becomes prosperous and comfortable. If a weapon is simply a part of a larger mindset, that being the will to fight for a cause or principle, I think thought lately is disarmed even in America. What can be said of laws which defend the rights of those who support people who wish to destroy our nation? Or our leader who repeats, over and over, that a satanic and murderous religion is instead a "religion of peace?" This, to me, is on the same intellectual level as the Imperial Roman citizen who wished not to be armed and could only watch his villa be sacked and burned.

I fear a Lot of people are going to be doing some serious thinking if we have another 911, Anduril.
