Relatives of people murdered by jihadists in Israel have filed suit accusing Arab Bank of funding terrorist groups and even paying suicide bombers. From AP, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
The lawsuit, filed Friday in federal court in the Eastern District of New York, claims the bank's New York branch laundered Saudi aid to terrorists. The branch first converted the money into dollars and then sent it to local branches in the West Bank and Gaza Strip where it was paid out to terrorists and terrorist organizations, the suit alleges.The bank also worked with Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad to distribute insurance money to beneficiaries of suicide bombers, including their families and those wounded or captured by Israeli security forces, the lawsuit alleges.
The American government has repeatedly intervened to prevent awards to Americans attempting to collect from Iran, Iraq, the PLO, and so on. Intervention, by the State Department, with judges, in a fashion that can only be deplored, include
1) American embassy personnel seized, and held hostage for 444 days, in that act of Iranian androlepsy, who sued Iran for damages
2) American servicemen who had been captured, and tortured, by the Iraqis during the Gulf War.
There may be others which at the moment I cannot pull up from my own memory.
One of the most potent blows to the funding of the Jihad would be a successful lawsuit by Joel Motley, against various Saudi individuals and institutions, for their role in the 9/11/2001 attacks. Will the State Department, even now that James Akins, and Andrew Kilfore, and Eugene Bird, and that whole crew of -- well, you choose the epithet -- is gone -- continue to intervene to throw an idiotic spanner into the works? Why? Saudi Arabia is a gas station, and a good deal of that gas station's revenues go to fund madrasas and mosques that inevitably churn out those who support, or those who at any moment could support, Jihad in its various manifestations.
Is it not, rather, extremely useful to take away as much money as possible from these people? Indeed, it would be great fun to see all those estates in the Home Counties, all those swank apartments on Avenue Foch, or in Marbella, seized and sold to pay off the claims of Spansih or French or British citizens. And those who insist that these are "private" residences -- well, in World War II, the United States had no difficulty in seizing the "private" assets of German companies, none at all. It is the refusal to see this as a war, not in the conventional sense of massed armies, and Omaha Beaches, and suchlike, but a war nonetheless, that is stymying efforts, and even leading to absurd sitations where the American government takes the enemy's side against the perfectly legitimate legal claims of soldiers (the Gulf War prisoners), diplomats (held in Tehran), and civilians (murdered by the PLO, or by Al Qaeda, or any one of a number of groups).
What is the raison d'etat for this, one would like to ask the State Department? Fear of making Saudi Arabia, the PLO, the current Iranian government, our enemies? Well, it may come as a surprise, but they are -- and making them pay, the way Libya has had to pay, and not only with cash on the barrel but with other kinds of economoic loss, will not induce a change of heart (that is impossible), but can induce a change in behavior. And in any case, the less money the Saudis or other Muslims have to play with, the less that remains after the necessities of life are taken care of, the better from the Infidel point of view.
Jihadis recognize money as the ammunition, and contributors as weapons plants.
Our government is still just going through the motions in WWIV.
This phase of the conflict will, should the West survive, be disdained in the same light as the notorious 'sitzkrieg'.
Islamism is a hydra. Only two heads, the easiest, have been wounded. We are at just the beginning of the beginning.
You can't get rid of termites until the queen is dead. you can't get rid of Islamism until Mecca is gone. The fraud rock must be exposed -- to free the muslims. Exposure, coupled to overwhelming military and economic defeat, is what it is going to take to terminate the conquest cult. In that way, victory over Japanese Shintoism will be repeated.

The only way Islamic terrorism will be pulled off in America is with duplicity at the top. Segments of capitalist institutions is in cahoots with the Jihadist and those segments have to be taken down.
That is what worries me about Bush and Chenny, they are naive as to the true nature of the Muslim world. They see Muslims as business partners, cash cows to make a fast buck off of. And they have over the years. This conflict of interest is bound to impact on how the carry out the War On Terrorism.
And apparently the FBI it's self has come under such conflicted political pressers to the extent of distorting it's fundamental mission in fighting terrorism.
