In a Knight-Ridder wire story (thanks to LGF) about the release of James Brandon, the British journalist who had been held by the mujahedin in Iraq, a spokeman for Al-Sadr admits what we knew all along: most journalists are willing dhimmis, transmitting the jihadist agenda.
A kidnapped British journalist was released Friday with minor injuries less than 24 hours after gunmen seized him from a hotel in the southern port city of Basra. James Brandon, 23, on assignment for the Sunday Telegraph, was shown in a video on satellite television with kidnappers who threatened to kill him unless U.S. troops withdrew from Najaf, the holiest of southern Shiite cities. Brandon reportedly was released after al-Sadr aides intervened on his behalf."Journalists are our brothers, our friends," said Sheik Salah al Ubaidi, an al-Sadr spokesman in Baghdad. "They reflect our opinions and convey our voices to all of the world."
Of course he is correct. The world's journalists, by and large, will tell the tale that he wants told. Just as they have been doing for some time. It is almost impossible for the American forces to get their story out; those in Civil Affairs regard it as a great triumph when they manage to get someone, anyone, from an American paper (non-American papers are out of the question) to print something about all the schools, hospitals, power grids, roads that have been repaired or built or re-repaired or rebuilt.
The current crop of journalists are mostly ill-educated. This year they are here, next year there. How many of them have taken the time to study the tenets of Islam? How many know the history of Muslim conquest, and of what happened to the non-Muslims after that conquest? How many even know such words as "dhimmi" or "jizya" or could list five of the crushing disabilities under which non-Muslims had to live, if they were not killed or did not immediately convert, upon the triumph of Islam in their countries? How many journalists understand that Iraq, and the sullen or murderous hostility of the Iraqis even toward those attempting only to improve their country and to pay for it (if this is "oil imperialism" the Americans are not very good imperialists -- it is they who are shelling out tens of billions of dollars to people who dislike or hate us, and have done nothing to deserve such American largesse) has its explanation in the tenets, the attitudes, and the atmospherics of Islam? As far as one can tell, none. There have not been any piercing analyses on the level of Peroncel-Hugoz's "The Raft of Muhammad," written after his years in Egypt and Algeria as a journalist.
The Americans are now enduring a small sample of what Israel, subject to a campaign of lies and vilification and misstatements over the past 30 years, everywhere in the world's press, has had to endure. It is not pleasant, and one hopes that the American government will remember this keenly -- as all the returning soldiers most definitely will.
Of course Journalists are friends. And Western Journalists are even better to publicise Mad Mo's
political agenda and lies. Why James Brandon should thank them, can't imagine since he got shot in the leg. Perhaps the man believes this is a small price to pay for a News Scoop...

Thomas Friedman in his book “From Beirut to Jerusalem” let slip a journalist dirty little secret. These journalists are stationed in these countries for some period of time, and if the Islamic Militants don’t like what they write they are threatened with death. They would also see their sources dry up, and no one would speak to them. CNN was part of this charade during the last 15 years in Iraq, when they softened up the critism of Sadaam Hussein in order to not get thrown out of Iraq.
These reporters should be called what they are “activist-journalists”. They lobby for the other side because they hate the west so much that they are blinded and cannot make clear assessments of what they are witnessing. These are the same people who constantly criticize Fox News for their bias in reporting. I say at least they are up front with their slant, not constantly denying it like ABC, NBC, CNN, BBC and the list goes on.
They are not very knowledgeable either. For instance they constantly call the helicopter giunships that the Israelis use over the West Bank and Gaza as Apaches. I must say that 90% of the times they are using Bell Supercobra gunships not Apaches. Apparently they cannot tell the difference but I can.

Whether the gun laws are changed or not, the police would be stretched mighty thin trying to protect all mosques, madrassas, jihadist charities, jihadist training facilities, etc. when the time comes. (The National Guard will not be able to help protect the dears as it will be in some Islamic stink-hole, trying to bring democracy to the ihabitants who are eagerly awaiting this gift [like swine are longing for pearls.])
The question is not whether or not the police COULD protect muslims in the aftermath of the next ROP attack...it is whether or not they WOULD bother. I can tell you firsthand that the police do not like the muslims any more (probably less) than the general public. My husband had to go in on his day off to hear some bearded wierdo rave on about how misunderstood and persecuted muslims were in Canada (as if) and how it was up to law enforcement to set an example of fairness toward the muslim community..on and on and on he said it went...also how muslim women MUST be treated with dignity and modesty..blah blah...my husband said it was a room full of cops rolling their eyes and getting ready to lose their lunch. He said the guy was talking in a sing song voice, very soft spoken and was trying to sound like a kindly old gentlemen, he didnt fool too many there so I heard. In essence muslims want to be above the law is what he said he got from the seminar, and many muslims feel that they cannot be governed by man made laws and that they are not subject to them. If a person is to be placed under arrest they are patted down to ensure that they do not have any weapons, needles, etc..this is for the arresting officers safety, this policy should not be compromised to ensure the modesty of anyone...its not just cops either, EMT personal have had to suffer through the muslim seminars...it is getting totally out of hand.
