Armed mobsters with alleged links to ruling BNP in a raid on a remote village under Pirgachha upazila in the district on Monday torched 22 houses of minority Hindus, injured 20 villagers and looted cash, crops and cattle.Eyewitnesses said a group of 35 to 40 BNP activists armed with machetes, swords and daggers cordoned the Hindu-majority Adam Sarkerpara village in the afternoon and set fire to the houses of eight Hindu families after spraying gasoline and kerosene on them.
Suresh Chandra Borman, one of the victims whose homes were burnt to ashes, told The Daily Star that Abdul Mannan and two of his nephews -- BNP activists Raju and Saju, one accused of rape attempt and the other of land-grabbing -- led the band.
Raju was caught red-handed while trying to rape a Hindu girl of the village two years ago, Borman said.

It seems to be a truism that the more benighted an Islamic nation, the more likely it is to turn to Islamic extremism as a means to save itself. Bangladesh has never got to grip with what it means to be a nation. Like many regions in the world where Muslims dominate in numbers, the only glue that holds the group together is that of Islam. Unfortunately, Islam is a glue that is highly corrosive.
My advice to all Hindus and Christians in Bangladesh, "Get the hell out, while you still can". As Bangladesh degenerates, Muslims will inevitably look for scapegoats. As Jews are not in any numbers in that country, Hindus and Christians will do as substitutes.

happening in Bangladesh. This was the fifth attempt at moderate AL (Awami league) leader's life in this year - this one with hand grenades
from roof tops in the capital city (not some remote place).
Not one attacker has been arrested by the extremist ruling party BNP. Al qaida always captures power in dysfunctional countries. Bangladesh is the most dysfunctional country in Asia (more than even Pakistan).
No news in the dhimmi Indian newspapers or other international newspapers whose obsession is with secularism even if it means not telling the truth. Secularism is a great thing but should it be at the expense of hiding the truth ? Should BNP/Al qaida continue in its ways, every one (including the west) will pay a price - India the heaviest.
Yey the actions of "peacefull Muslims" never get reported in western media, and if it does, it's called something else, like ethnic fighting, religious conflict, tribal rivalry, but never Islamic terrorism.
