Immigration authorities have been requiring all people to take off any and all headgear, so that they can see their faces unobstructed. It is not hard to envision a context in which it would be important to be able to do that.

Prime Minister Paul Martin doesn't want Muslim women arriving at Pierre Trudeau International Airport in Dorval to be required to remove their headscarves as they pass through security.Four Muslim women complained this summer after they were told to take pff their hijabs so pictures of them could be taken for their permanent-residency cards.
Martin wants the practice stopped, saying an Islamic woman's right to to wear the hijab must be respected.
Immigration is in part a Quebec jurisdiction, however, and it remains to be seen whether his instructions will be carried out.
Immigration Quebec was not available for comment yesterday.
In each of the four cases, Quebec immigration officials at the airport insisted the hijab had to come off so all facial features could be seen.
The Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations accused the immigration authorities of being overzealous.
The prime minister agreed.
Never apologize to Muslims for denying special treatment that they don't deserve. In this day of great danger, they have become the great threat to western civilization. Not only should her hijab come off, perhaps she should be checked from head to toe as well as internally. If this becomes policy, these women can be used as mules for any contraband, from drugs to c-4 or worse.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. So 99% of the terrorist acts are committed by Muslims (men as well as women) all over the world, yet they are only group to receive special treatment at the when entering a country, so from no on Muslim women have the right to keep the hijab -which is used to COVER part of their head- on. Call me stupid, but this just doesn't add up.
And what about my right not to be blown up on public transport, or in a café? What about my right not to be killed senselessly by a terrorist? Muslim women’s right to keep their hijab on obviously more important.

The Sharia court thing in Ontario is now under "review". I guess we will see where that leads. In the mean time, The looney left in Ontario will continue to be happy having 70% of their earned income (those that work that is) taken and spent on Paul Martins political friends.

And Joe, things aren't any better in the USA. just walk across the border to Buffalo. Go listen to the call to prayer in Michigan. look at whats going on in US collage campuses. Don't eat a BLT if you work at a Islamic business, next, they will demand that females cover up.
In fact, I think the problems in the USA are far worse, and much more widespead.
What We have to do, no matter which side of the border we live on, is wake up our governments, and the general population as to the realities of what Islam really is. There is stupidity on both sides of the border.

The hajib does not cover the face, however I have seen men asked to remove their hats and definatly their sunglasses at security checkpoints. The sunglasses DO hide part of the face but for the most part a hat does not. I think they could probably tell who a woman was facewise with the hajib on, however will it stop at the hajib...what about women who are forced to cover fully with only the eyes visible, if PM Martin has made provisions for the hajib, what will happen when the husbands of the women forced to fully cover complain that their rights are being trampled on because their wife is being forced to uncover in public...how far will the madness go? Not only a question of the hajib hiding the face, there is also the issue of what could be hidden beneath the hajib, not to mention the loose tent-like garments they wear (after all if it is against the rules to ask a woman to remove it, then what is to stop them from hiding something underneath it when they know it its 'safe') Islam has declared war on the world, and the PC fools are making it easier and easier for islamic terrorists to conceal their identy and sneak in...or worse yet throwing open the door and welcoming them through immigration.
On my way to work I saw a Muslim woman wearing a veiled headress, only her eyes could be seen, I saw this as a risk as she didn't have 180 degree vision, my local Police station, after passing me from one post to another said "Yes that's OK it's a religious exception ", "Excuse me "I said "if she kills someone will her insurance be prepared to pay up for the hapless victim she hurts if she has not stated on her insurance form that she has peripheral blind spots due to her headress"
I bet she has a driving licence that excludes a picture of her as well, could this be a detriment to victim if there is a dispute about identity.

There can be no concessions to any religion or cult that compromise security. Muslims have the freedom of choice to return to the Dar al-Islam if they don't like the Dar al-Harb, after all they put the al-Harb in the name.
Sorry I was refering to the headscarf that some wear that does not cover the face, but still was being requested to be removed for ID photos and at some security checkpoints. I was likening that to a hat, which some people are asked to remove and are generally not allowed in ID photos.

This is what I was refering to, her face can be seen, however headcoverings are generally not permitted in ID photos, for instance if I were to wear a baseball hat to have my drivers license photo taken I would be asked to remove it. My point is althought clearly in this photo I can see that the photo and the person are the same, if this "special treatment"is afforded to the headcarf, face showing, that women who cover fully will be wanting the same "special treatment" there can be no special treatment, especially where driving is concerned, driving is a privalage not a right, but as I said the government has their own agenda and can't or won't see that they are aiding in their own demise.
