Aynan Sabri Ismail is going to be deported -- because, according to his lawyer (in a deft turn of phrase), of a band of "anti-Semitic thugs." From CBS11, with thanks to Robert:
Accused Dallas terrorist Aynan Sabri Ismail took the stand in federal court and swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth."I love this country," the bearded Kuwaiti-born Palestinian told U.S. Immigration Judge D. Anthony Rogers during a hearing earlier this month. "It's been good to me and this is where my family is. I want to build a peaceful, decent life for them. I just want to be a normal, decent person."
At stake for Ismail in the nearly empty Dallas immigration court was deportation to Jordan or a chance to prosper in America with his wife and five children, all citizens.
Despite professing love for his adoptive country, the 34-year-old illegal immigrant who came on a college student visa in 1988 now faces imminent expulsion, labeled a dangerous terrorist by the U.S. government. This week, Ismail decided not to appeal Judge Rogers' decision to reject an application to stay.
"He's not going to be in this country. He's not going to be acting as a sleeper. He's not going to be raising funds in this country," said Carl Rusnok, spokesman for the Dallas bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. "He's going to be out of this country where he's not going to do us direct harm."
Ismail's lawyer, John Wheat Gibson, said his client's deportation is part of a government agenda by a "small group of anti-semitic thugs" to rid the country of Muslims.
"They're fanatic," Gibson said of the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who argued against Ismail's application to stay. "They're fundamentalists. They're just like Hamas."
Government lawyers, under pressure to use any legal means to rid the nation of perceived dangerous elements, put on evidence they said showed Ismail served as a top fundraiser for the banned Richardson-based Holy Land Foundation. President George Bush dubbed the organization a clandestine fundraising arm of Hamas and froze its assets in November, 2001.
Government lawyers said that from 1996 through 2001 Ismail had to have known that the money he raised for the nation's largest Muslim charity was going to the families of Hamas suicide bombers, providing "martyrs" with an incentive and comfort to attack Israeli civilians.
Suggest Defense Lawyer John Wheat Gibson doesn't know 'chaff' from 'wheat'.

Isn't a Kuwaiti-born Palestinian really a Kuwaiti?
GLORIA
Perhaps he is a Pal-Kuwaiti ! Have heard that Arab
countries are very reluctant to give their Palestine Bros citizenship in their countries despite all the hype put out to West. Maybe they think all those suicide bombers might start on them when they run out of targets in Israel...
There once were many Arabs that called themselves "Palestinians" in Kuwait. During the Gulf War, they sided with Iraq. When the Iraqis were driven out of Kuwait by the Coalition, these "Palestinians" were not looked upon too favorably by the Kuwaitis.
2 down........2,999,998 to go.
Off topic, but in case anyone didn't see the opening ceremonies at the Olympics tonight: The U.S. athletes received a great response from the stadium crowd. The crowd roared when they came out. I was so happy, and relieved. Then a few minutes later, Iran came out and the crowd went dead silent.
(Bob Costas made mention that one of the Iranian wrestlers was expected to withdraw from the games because he drew an Israeli opponent. I'm glad that was announced so the world could hear it. Costas even said that Iran didn't recognize Israel's right to Statehood.
The Israeli would've pinned the Iranian to the mat anyway. However, it's sad that such blatant racism is splattered all over the television for the world to see, courtesy of some of the Arab nations. On the other hand, this is something everyone needs to see.
Great Britain also received a huge applause. The whole world doesn't hate us like certain Jihadis would like to think. At least the civilized world.)
Ok, thanks all. Now, back to discussing this Islamic criminal, who thankfully, is on his way out of here.
Gee, you'd think that a brave moslem would have relished the chance to defeat a Jew in front of the world mano-a-mano. I guess it must've scared this jihadi athlete that the Israeli wasn't a helpless child on a bus or sleeping in bed. I would have enjoyed watching an Israeli kick this guys ass. All moslems are unequivocal cowards.
And his wife and children? How likely is it that they will be intensely loyal, or loyal at all, to the United States? Will they grow up to be security risks, as seems likely, or will ways be found to allow them to join, as they should, their father? There are too many cases of those who, when they come, are intent on procreating (often a sham marriage is entered into purely for the sake of remaining in the United States and avoiding deportation; children may result, and if born here, that is regarded as useful, too, for they are automatic citizens and can help the parent, whose loyalty is to Islam and the Jihad, not to the United States or to any of its founding principles (though those principles will readily be taken advantage of, and to the fullest extent), to remain. It is not enough to deport the man who is a security risk but to ensure that such people cannot leave behind those who will be citizens through an accident of birth but whose loyalty should, given their families, be subject to scrutiny and to question.
As for the lawyer, his conduct, and his words, also bear looking into. One hopes that eventually those who take such cases will suffer the same fate as those who would defend Nazis or the Lord Haw Haws of this world: to be shunned, to be deprived of business, to suffer the consequences for the choices they make. There is no need to bend over backwards to make things easier for such defendants, or those who would make it possible for them to stay. One may be entitled to legal representation, but that does not mean that the one who chooses to represent such a client has to be considered immune from criticism or other expressions of distaste and distrust.
Also at the Olympics, the saudi`s was the only delegation that included not even one single woman...try to explain this one, democrats, leftists, muslim appologists, civil rights activists, aclu, liberal media,etc...
In a situation like this, not only him should be deported, but his whole family.
The mosque here he went should be closed down and all members interogated and then put under surveillance.
Did it bother anyone else that our team was not allowed to wave mini American flags? The French sure had a grand time with theirs.
"I love this country," the bearded Kuwaiti-born Palestinian told U.S. Immigration Judge D. Anthony Rogers during a hearing earlier this month. "It's been good to me and this is where my family is. I want to build a peaceful, decent life for them. I just want to be a normal, decent person."
He loves that country so much he's dying to have it totally overun with the disciples of "most merciful allah,",just like all his muslim brothers in all western countries do , suck ya mum.
Catherine,
The chinese are yellow aren't they, hmmmm, maybe thats where Bin ladens been hiding.
Gloria,
There's no such thing as Palestine, 'S'fake country you see.
On Kuwaiti citizenship, from
http://www.refugees.org/world/countryrpt/mideast/kuwait.htm
Kuwait reserves full citizenship rights for those who established residence in the country prior to 1920. Children born to Kuwaiti women are not generally accorded citizenship if their fathers are Bidoon or foreigners, although the government agreed in 2001 to grant citizenship to children of Kuwaiti widows or divorcees previously married to Bidoon men.
DC thanks for the olympic info, it's nice to hear of support instead hate.
My vote is that the family must be deported as well, they will do nothing but brood over the fact that their father was deported at the hands of infidels and mom can do nothing because she is moslem and thus she is a prisoner of her own faith.
It was great to see the Americans being cheered like they were. They didn't need to wave any minature American flags to get over. I hope the Islamic world (those who own televisions)watched last night.
I say again, when Iran came out, the crowd's silence was deafening. It reminded me of when the Soviets used to be introduced, or the East Germans, the crowd back then was like the fans last night.
They simply appeared to portray the image of: Well, they're here, nothing we can do about that, so let 'em walk out with the civilized athletes and then we can get on with the rest of the ceremony.....
I think the hunt of Bin laden ought to take in the basement of El Jezzera TV Studios:) They sure seem to get his tapes in a very timely manner..
