The New York Police Department, responding to new information that terrorists may be planning to attack corporations or large public institutions in the city, last night advised building managers and corporate security personnel to step up their procedures to guard against vehicles rigged with explosives and against chemical agents placed in ventilation systems.The warning followed meetings on Friday night and yesterday between Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly and Pasquale J. D'Amuro, the assistant director in charge of the New York field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to Mr. Kelly's chief spokesman, Paul J. Browne.
Mr. Browne said the meetings were held to discuss the latest reports of a terrorist threat against the city, but declined to comment on the source of the new information. "The information is considered credible," said another law enforcement official, who insisted on anonymity. The official said the police and federal terrorism authorities, who have received similar threats before, were unusually concerned about the new information.
Yesterday's warnings appeared to be linked to the arrest on July 19 in Texas of Farida Goolam Mohamed Ahmed after she entered the United States from Mexico by crossing the Rio Grande and crawling through the brush.
According to several news accounts, she had an altered passport along with several thousand dollars in cash and an airline ticket to New York. CNN reported that she was charged with illegal entry, making false statements and falsifying a passport.

Actually, by recent estimates I have come across, the Muslim population of the world is around 1.5 billion, not 1.2, and according to charts in the excellent book "The Clash of Civilizations" by Samuel P. Huntington, Islam will be the most populous religion no later than 2025.
Muslims have the highest birthrate of any people on the planet. No surprise when you consider that their women are hardly anything more than sex slaves and the men can take up to 4 legal wives in most cases and I'm sure the richest Muslim Arabs (i.e. Saudis) have plenty of concubines as well.
There are more than 7 million Muslims in the United States alone -- that's a larger population than the entire census of Israel.
In the current climate, it would be wise of the United States to expell all Muslims, but we are far too blind still to the ultimate desires of Islam, and even worse, we are not yet nearly ruthless enough to defeat it.

I've seen some of the numbers estimated for Muslims, and most are self-selected and overblown by 10%-25%. I'd suggest numbers are much closer to a billion than 1.5, and the way things are going, they won't be around to worry about by 2025.
Regardless of the true population figures, the fact remains that the United States government and far too much of Europe continues to dance around the NAME of the threat to world peace and prosperity.

The federal government warned Sunday of possible terrorist attacks against "iconic" financial institutions in New York City, Washington and Newark, N.J., saying a confluence of intelligence over the weekend pointed to a car or truck bomb.
Specifically, the government named these buildings as potential targets:
* The Citicorp building and the New York Stock Exchange in New York City.
* The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank buildings in Washington.
* The Prudential building in Newark.
"The preferred means of attack would be car or truck bombs," Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said in a briefing with journalists. "That would be a primary means of attack," he said.
The government said the new intelligence indicated the meticulous planning of al Qaeda. He identified explosives as the likely mode of attack, as opposed to a chemical or biological attack or a radiological "dirty" bomb.

Let's talk about muslims being COWARDS . . . I know someone who daily takes his BLACK DOG on walks through area parks. That's all it takes for the muslims to SCATTER! It's hilarious, I mean it, they RUN like scared rabbits, even the MEN, all the while muttering prayers. Some of the women SCREAM at the children to gather and they stand in group hugs, hysterical, until the dog has passed. Mind you, this is no pit bull or Rottweiller, but a medium-sized border collie (actually black w/white,but they don't care), extremely well-behaved, trained and friendly.
A muslim once told me that they believe that a black dog is the devil's familiar . . .
To see total surrender from the ones without weapons (the ones with weapons hide behind women and children) all we need are some pigs and dogs. We have plenty of those in all of our local communities. And WE are the ones with firearms and the numbers to make them count.

CGW Those dogs don't have to be black. I have a parti-colored ShihTzu that I walk daily in a Texas suburb and she only weighs 12". Believe me thereare plenty of "Burkas" around here and they hate dogs.

The story with the person walking a black dog....i have experienced it myself,many many times.
I used to live within walking distance from a mosque,actually there was a park behind the mosque,and i used to walk my rotweiller in that park,at least twice daily....horror,screams,outraged muslims with flying robes and beards.
The dog was ofcourse in a leash and very well trained,not a danger to anyone,unless i was attacked.
Muslims have complained to city hall,they`ve had my license checked,they also checked the vaccination records,etc,but they couldn`t ban me from walking Zorba in that park.
And i was taking especially long walks on friday afternoons,when they were comming out from prayers....

I was surprised there were no terrorist attacks in the US in the wake of 9/11. Local vigilance of ordinary people may well be preventing lots of things from happening.
