DENVER: A man accused of attending a terrorist training camp was deported on Thursday to Pakistan.Sajjad Nasser, 29, was deported under a section of the Patriot Act that expands the legal definitions of terrorist organizations and acts, said Corina Almeida, chief counsel for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“I think this case sends a very loud message to the terrorists and those that seek to do us harm,” she said. Nasser’s attorney, David Lane, called the allegation that his client helped terrorists “a big, fat lie”. “He is a sacrificial lamb,” his lawyer said. “It’s ludicrous. It’s racist.”
Nasser was arrested in March 2003 on charges of conspiring to harbour an illegal resident. In a deal with prosecutors, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of possessing a fake ID and was sentenced to the 17 months already served. Nasser’s brother used Nasser’s immigration identification card to make a fake ID so the brother could get a job at a grocery store, Lane said.
Nasser was never charged with a terrorism crime; immigration authorities accused him of attending a training camp run by Jaish-e-Mohammed, considered by the United States to be a terrorist group.
An immigration judge ruled in June that Nasser’s participation provided material support for a terrorist organisation, making him subject to deportation. Lane said Nasser thought the camp’s intent was to teach people to defend Pakistan against invasion by India, and left after three days when he realised its true intentions.
Under his plea deal, Nasser agreed not to appeal and may never return to the United States.

It's hilarious that this criminal's Attorney can make the statements he made, even when his client had admitted to possessing a fake ID......Amazing. I wonder if this Lawyer took a few days off to attend the protest at the RNC.
Will the Colorado Attorney General investigate the charges of "racism" or ask Mr. Lane to provide some evidence for this. Such a charge should not be made lightly. If there is NO evidence for it, then Lane himself ought to be sanctioned. One cannot simply permit people to make such charges whenever they feel like it, particularly as it helps to create an atmosphere in which legitimate measures of self-defense are held up to unjustified ridicule and attack. It is Lane who should now have to prove, or publicly apologize, for such talk. And perhaps the states, or the Federal government, could make it an offense to wantonly, without the slightest justification, in cases involving terrorism, to bandy about words like "racism" as explaining the prudent measures the government may have to take.
Hugh, good point. With the onslaught of litigation, and the ease at which felons in this country get off, I've often thought that some kind of sanction against defense attorneys/civil plaintiff attorneys who make unfounded charges would be a viable alternative to the non-existent policing of it's own done by the Bar association...it would help to also curb unfounded, random spewing of the "R" word!!!

Javed disappeared April 17th,2004, as he traveled to his grandfather's home.His family says he stopped to drink some water from the tap of the Jamia Hassab Bin Murtzaz Islamic school. Radical Muslims often prohibit Christians and other non-Muslims from drinking from their wells and taps, because they believe the lips of non-believers "contaminate their water". Javed was no exception. He was dragged into the madrassa where he was brutally beaten and tortured for five days. Javed, before he died told a VOM representive that when he his tormentors learned he was a Christian, they demanded he convert to Islam.
He was subjected to severe torture when he refused to deny Christ. He received electric shocks,and his torturers attempted to pull his ears and fingernails off with a pair of pliers. His feet were stabbed with a sharp ice pick,and his right arm and fingers were broken.His back and lower abdomen were beaten with a iron rod,and he suffered internal injuries to his kidneys and bladder.
The Madrassah officals turned Anjum over to the police on April 22nd,2004 insisting that they caught him attempting to steal the school's water pump.
Anjum was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries. His medical records and chart mysteriously dissappeared.

Tell you what, I've been to a few place; done a few things; and have met a few people.
Reports like this are not uncommon yet never seem to make the headlines.
Aside from hurting the victim, these kinds of acts also "keep the rest of the camels in line" so to speak. That's the closest one gets to "democracy" in arabic -- the litergical language of islam.

It is hard for me to imagine all this happening in NYC in post 9/11. What could these people be thinking? It is so unreal.
Like so many others, I have been to the WTC towers before 9/11 and remember the exceptional view. It was beautiful.
I often think of the nice elderly that worked in a gift store in one of the towers near the top floor. I was a bit short of change and she smiled and took care of it for me.
I never knew her name, but I often think about her and wonder if she was one of the lucky ones.

Disappointing Turnout for Anti-Bush March
Organizers had hoped that a New York City protest march on Sunday August 29th,2004 against President Bush and the war in Iraq would attract up to a million participants.
But according to official NYPD estimates, the march - staged by the "radical" umbrella group United for Peace and Justice and timed to coincide with the beginning of the GOP Convention - drew a relatively paltry 100,000 protesters.
