THE al-Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf group has deployed 80 Muslim converts all over the country, most of them in key cities in Metro Manila, to bomb civilian and government targets.Citing reports from the intelligence community, National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales said the Abu Sayyaf chieftain, Khadaffy Janjalani, trained these converts, who were former Christians, early last year in the jungles of Basilan.
In a roundtable discussion with The Manila Times editors and reporters, Gonzales named the Abu Sayyaf as the “most dangerous” of all rebel groups in the country, despite its membership of less than 300.
“Compared with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the New People’s Army, the Abu Sayyaf is the most dangerous because these terrorists even volunteer to conduct attacks to win the recognition of international terrorist groups, including al-Qaeda,” Gonzales said.
Targets for possible terrorist attacks are bus terminals, passenger ships and other crowded areas.
Gonzales said the Muslim converts, known in the intelligence community as the Balik-Islam Group, are scattered nationwide, but are concentrated in Metro Manila and the Visayas. The military arrested four of these converts early this year in Metro Manila.
“Now we have 76 more to worry about and we hope we can catch them before they inflict harm on civilians,” Gonzales said.

Kerry: I Wouldn't Respond to Nuclear Attack
John Kerry told Democrats gathered in Boston two weeks ago that he defended his country as a young soldier in Vietnam and he would defend it again as president.
But as Michael Dukakis' lieutenant governor, Kerry authored an executive order that said the state of Massachussetts would refuse to take part in any civil defense efforts in response to a nuclear attack on America. The presidential candidate was an ardent proponent of the nuclear freeze at the time, and viewed Cold War civil defense preparations as an attempt to delude the American people into thinking a nuclear exchange was survivable.
Lt. Gov. Kerry's executive order on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts read in part:
"Whereas the existing and potential strength of nuclear weapons is such that nuclear war can neither be won nor survived, it can only be prevented; and Whereas the only effective defense against the horrors of nuclear weapons lies in their elimination and in the prevention of nuclear war or attacks, [the Commonwealth of Massachusetts] shall seek to ensure the safety of its citizens by pursuit of policies reflecting a serious commitment to prevention of nuclear war."
"Such policies," the Kerry directive continued, "shall include education of citizens concerning the real nature of nuclear war and efforts to influence national policy towards negotiation of an end to the nuclear-arms race."
The Kerry order stated emphatically, however: "No funds shall be expended by the Commonwealth for crisis relocation planning for nuclear war."
Monica Conyngham, Lt. Gov. Kerry's spokeswoman at the time, defended the controversial document, telling reporters, "We believe that [evacuation] plans are absolutely futile and that there are no safe havens from nuclear war."
Gov. Dukakis signed Kerry's "no nuclear defense" executive order into law on June 28, 1984.

I read alot of what you guys in America have to say. Some advocate getting rid of them, others say ban islam but is no way any of that is going to happen. Political leaders in your country are only interested in implementing policies that "seems correct" or politically correct and not take measures that is politically incorrect although it might be the best course of action. This of course is the side-effect of democracy.
Just look at the Chinese government in China, they are tough, no fooling around. If China was in charged of Iraq, they will bomb the place and collect the oil.

The problem as I see it is that your politicians hands are tied. Because of democratic constraints, your government cannot act. They need public opinion on their side before they can act. What did it take for America to unleash its wrath on Japan/Germany during WW2? Answer: Bombing of Pear Harbor where 3000 people died. Today, what does it take for America to fight the war against islamic Terrorism. Answer: 911. What will it take for America to take on islam? Answer: Many more people have to die.
So in essence, America acts only when many people die.

No doubt about that, America is one of the best place for anyone to live. America has freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, etc.

The WTC wasn't first attacked in 2001, in 1993 it was bombed. So was the Embassies in Africa in 1998, yet nothing really major was done to crack down terrorism until 9/11.
