New Dutch legislation has prescribed longer jail sentences for killing, kidnapping and hijacking when these crimes are carried out with terrorist intent.

However, the radio did not give specific figures to illustrate how further the punishments would be for terrorist crimes.

It said that conspiracy to commit a serious terrorist crime and recruiting for the Jihad are now separate crimes with their own penalties in the country.
