BEERSHEBA, Israel - Suicide bombers blew up two buses almost simultaneously in southern Israel on Tuesday, killing at least 15 people and wounding more than 80 others in the first Palestinian attack inside Israeli in nearly six months.The twin blasts, claimed by the militant group Hamas, were likely to provoke a harsh Israeli response. Yassin and Rantisi, the Hamas leaders who were killed, were terrorist masterminds who inspired scores of suicide bombers. How are they equivalent to a group of civilians on a bus?
The explosions came just hours after Sharon presented to his Likud party the most detailed timetable yet for Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and warned party rebels the plan "will be implemented, period."After the attacks, Sharon said "the fight against terror will continue full strength." No, it's more like a three-month's supply. Even if you were right, a "third of Saudi's imports to us"? BFD. Those gdmf-ers are billionaires, man. What kind of "hurt economy" would you experience if you went from having 100 Million dollars to 66.6 (ohmigod!) Million dollars, or 10 million to 6.66 million?
Furthermore, what happens at the end of those ten years? We go back to needing what we need now.

The fact is, there is still plenty of oil in Texas, Oklahoma, etc. It's just too expensive, based on "current market demand" to get. Ever heard of the Hibbert (or Fibbert, something like that) Principle? One of them-there pointy-headed, intellectual types said waaaay back when that once you drill half the oil out of an area, extracting the next quarter will cost the same amount. That's because the oil is dirty, sandy, watered-down, etc. When three-quarters is gone, the next eight will cost the same amount at the first half... etc. The cost doubles every time the amount is halved.
He said that the US would reach the half-way point in 1970... he was off by four years.
We have plenty of oil now, but the problem is that it would be expensive to get out of the ground and into your Hummer.
The ANWAR is part of a strategic oil reserve that is there for a reason: strategy. One day in the next hundred-or-so years, there is going to be a serious crunch in the oil market... there's only so much, and when it's gone, it's gone for good.
