There's nothing wrong with this idea. They are, after all, in the US illegally. But expect an outcry and a revised policy. From the New York Times, :
WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 - Citing concerns about terrorists crossing the nation's borders, the Department of Homeland Security said on Tuesday that it planned to give border patrol agents sweeping new powers to deport illegal aliens from the frontiers with Mexico and Canada without providing them the opportunity to make their case before an immigration judge.The move, which will take effect this month, represents a broad expansion of the authority of the thousands of law enforcement agents who patrol the nation's borders. Until now, border patrol agents typically delivered undocumented immigrants to the custody of the immigration courts, where judges determined whether they should be deported or remain in the United States.
Domestic security officials described the deportation process in immigration courts - which hear asylum claims and other appeals to remain in the country - as sluggish and cumbersome, saying illegal immigrants often wait for more than a year before being deported while straining the capacity of detention centers and draining critical resources. Under the new system, immigrants will typically be deported within eight days of their apprehension, officials said....
The new rule will apply to illegal immigrants caught within 100 miles of the Mexican and Canadian borders who have spent up to 14 days within the United States. Officials said the border agents would not focus on deporting Mexicans and Canadians, who will still, for the most part, have their cases heard in immigration court. The agents will concentrate instead on immigrants from other countries. In fiscal year 2003, about 37,000 immigrants from countries other than Mexico and Canada - primarily from Central America - were arrested along the Southwest border.

Excellent idea. Illegals should not expect nor be granted the rights afforded legal immigrants. The DHS better stand their ground on this.

punishment other than a clean jail,three meals a day,clean cloths,free lawyer,medical check-ups,and endless appeals on humanitarian grounds.
I say we boot them out at POE(point of entry)
or site of arrest,since we don't know which one want's us dead,or will be told by them if they are
terrorists,then treat them all equally under the Constitution and boot them all.
Last spring I came across a smuggling ring working out of a Immigrant welcoming center that
had a Lawyer and pre-arranged comsultants at border points that just happened to be there when
a certain undocumented visitor turns themselves in. I reported this to the authorities and was treated like a bigot that was an annoyance to listen to,even with visual proof of cars dropping of people at night to a house that's owned by the welcome center,they mocked me by saying "lots of people drive at night". Then I told the person that the Center posted anti-Americam literature in the store front window,items that blamed the US for the deaths of Palestinians and Iraqis,and rally's at US embassy's that started at that office and Palestinian flags were carried by people there. I saw this and yet they didn't give a damn,the Politicians have turned the Security
workers into social workers with guns.
I finally trapped the person by stating that Tax fraud is a Federal offence and therefore under their responsibility,the Center was accepting money as a charity while engaging in political activity as a distributor of anti-Government propanganda and immigrant smuggling in return for donations.
I was told to phone the local Government office in my area since they don't deal with tax matters or people already in the Country.
As long as the wealth white people like Kerry
live in secure area's free of crime or terrorist
threat,the regular working class are the sitting ducks for Jihadists that murder for Allah. I think it's far better to let a person on the front line protect us from Islamic thugs then

Lets just see an illegal try to claim they were illegally botted out when they have no proof they were in the country since a Federal Security agent politely dropped them off outside American soil.
