Sweden has the same problem with Muslim immigrants that France does: it now has a significant population of people who do not accept secularism and want to create an Islamic state. The problem is acute, as the stories from Malmø show. Now Ali Dashti has sent in a sob story from the Pacific News Service about the discrimination that an ex-Guantanamo prisoner has allegedly faced in Sweden. And here is the prescribed remedy:
A concerted effort that aims at educating Swedes that immigrants are a blessing to their country must be pursued, said Sahlin, stressing that her compatriots must accept that the new Sweden is multi-cultural, and that discrimination must end. "Like it or not, this is the new Sweden," she said.
It's a fait accompli, eh?
Non-muslim immigrants may well be a blessing, but muslim immigrants are NOT! Don't Swedes have the right to express their own ideas anymore?
The ex-Guantanamo prisoner was taken "home" to Sweden in a private airplane usually used by the government. That flight cost Swedish taxpayers a fortune. Discriminated..? Swedes aren't even allowed to complain about how the government is wasting our money. Swedes have to be quiet or go straight to prison, due to hate crime laws...
These Swedes need some serious lessons in history and Islamic law! Can't they see what is happening in throughout the world? How about what is happening in Holland in France. This is a case of denial or a belief that Swedish culture can overcome Islam. LOL.
For the past two decades, residents of Sweden have felt that their government does not represent their interests. A permanent political class has arisen, similar to that of the EU bureacracy. Well-paid, well-fed, full of NGO tiers-mondisme, hating America, disliking those infuriating Israelis, afraid of Muslims and so unwilling to say a word against them, not realizing that the mind-forged manacles of their own ideology are preventing even the most minimum of protective measures to be taken, unaware of what it took to construct what is called Western civilization, and so ungrateful for it (oh, they could start with Karl von Linne if they wished -- they could visit the gardens of Uppsala and ask themselves if the slow development of modern science could possibly have taken place in the Islamic world). Many Swedes are disheartened but no one articulates their views, and if no one does, each person or family remains more or less quiet, occasionally expressing doubts or dismay, but always afraid that perhaps, perhaps, it is only I, I must be the odd man out, I must be the one who can't get with the program, I must be the one who has to change his views. No. Those doubts, that dismay, are absolutely justified.
It is silly to confuse a general "anti-immigrant" sentiment, with something more specific: anti-Muslim immigrant sentiment. No one has yet explained how a tolerant and pluralistic society can continue to admit people who do not share that tolerance, or that genuine acceptance of pluralism (except temporarily, while they are the beneficiaries of it -- but just you wait...). It is silly not to even take the time to study the tenets of Islam, to read the relevant scholarship, and to learn what happened to Christians, to Jews, to Zoroastrians, to Hindus, to Buddhists, under Muslim rule -- for the story is, from Spain to Indonesia (because in Indonesia not military conquest, but Da'wa was the instrument employed, it has taken a long time to reduce the non-Muslim population in size and power, and even now there are still pockets of syncretism, but these signs of "easygoing" Indonesian Islam merely reflect the different tools by which Islam and Muslims came to dominate Indonesia, not any difference in the ultimate fate of the non-Muslims), and from 650 to 2004, always and everywhere more or less the same, following the same rules of Jihad-conquest, followed by the slow or fast imposition of the institution of dhimmitude.
Goodbye, Sweden. There are painful scenes, far beyond the worldweariness and angst that Bergman once depicted, and which, in Sweden, many will look back upon with nostalgia and regret, and wonder if it could have been otherwise.
Of course it could. Wake up, and avoid the fate.
When people say they are anti-immigration, for the most part they mean they are against Muslim immigration. They base their views on the evidence, the results of large-scale Muslim immigration. All Western countries can give examples of what problems large groups of Muslims cause in their communities. We've read about Malmo. All Western countries have their own Malmos, or a Malmo in the making.
Most immigration these days tends to be from Islamic hellholes. So-called "refugees" who arrive on our doorstep, claiming persecution and oppression, blah, blah, blah. We let them in, basing our decision to do so, on outdated conventions from a different era when there were real refugees coming to our shores.
These days they are country-shoppers looking for the best welfare packages. And they are predominantly Muslim. Governments are shy to point out the high welfare abuse rates by Muslim newcomers, but the people can see it. You hear enough examples from people who see it all the time. They are a drain on our resources, contributing little, but causing major problems. The few who do contribute are outweighed by the majority who sit on their bums popping out more kids than they can support, not to mention the extra burden on our criminal and justice systems. This is the 'immigration' we are against. My own parents were immigrants to this country, as were a lot of people my parents' age. They helped build this country, working their butts off to do so, while collecting not a cent from the taxpayer. This is the immigration we want and respect. Not the invasion of demanding criminals and do-nothings from Islamic countries.
Couldn't agree more with feralee.
I just finished a debate with a well-meaning Indian (Hindu) couple who say "but aren't some muslims good people, like us?". Well, too bad then that their goodness is what is preventing a mass-awakening to reality in the west.
I'm waiting for that first european politician who'll not just unabashedly bring the 'anti-muslim-imigration' platform out of the closet but give it credibility and respectability by winning on its basis. If the general public's revulsion indeed exists, then the democratic system should reflect that (while non-muslims are still in a majority). I'm xconvinced that once the floodgates open, many more politicians and govt.s will follow this winning strategy.
It sure is a winning strategy, voletti. Make policies that draw in the Muslim vote - open-door immigration and refugee policies is the biggie, along with unlimited welfare that encourages big families to people with no employment. That's the latest winning strategy. That'll guarantee you power and the great salary and perks, and lifetime great pension and perks after you retire from office. You'll never have to work at a real job, and will be able to afford to buy into safe, gated, rich communities where you don't have to face the Islamified hellholes you helped create in your own country. And with a guaranteed pension for yourself, it doesn't matter if your country's social system is creaking under the additional burden. Let the little people deal with that.
And while you're in power, shout down anyone who threatens your winning strategy by calling them bigots, racists and hate-mongers. Even bring in laws to shut them up.
It's so sleazy. And very dangerous.
"Like it or not this is the new Sweden"
Ahhh....Fascism takes on many faces.....I wonder if the people of Sweden were asked wether they wanted Multiculturism...."Like it or not"?
I believe that immigration is a blessing as well as multiculturalism but only if it means immigration from a variety of sources, and multiculturalism really means multi, and not Arab/Islamic. Immigration is vital for Europe, but it has to come from a variety of sources, such as Latin-America, China, Africa, and shock horror Eastern-Europe, and Russia. Europe is panicking about Eastern European and Russian immigrants for decades. It is considerably more difficult to get into Europe from those places than from an Arab country. There was a pitiful mass hysteria created about Eastern European immigrants by the tabloids when the 10 new countries joined Europe. They were screaming about HIV and TB infected hordes mass migrating for free medical care, or just simply coming to exploit the welfare system, and perhaps take everybody’s jobs at the same time; those cunning Eastern Europeans can even do that (not to mention TB and HIV is also coming from Africa being brought into the EU by more Muslims than Eastern Europeans). What I can see is that yes it is true that they migrated in larger numbers to the EU countries TO WORK. But somehow I’m not worried (nor have I met anybody who was worried) that they will assemble bombs, hijack planes, or take hostages in schools. I’m somehow not worried that Russian immigrants will want to set up Soviets, or Chinese immigrants will want to set up a People’s Republic. I only worry when I look at a growing number of Muslim immigrants, because they are quite vocal about wanting to bring their way of life as a replacement to our way of life. It is not me saying it, it is them saying it all the time, one just has to turn on the TV, or open the news papers. Europe needs immigrants full stop, but they have to realise that those dreaded Russians and Eastern Europeans along with Chinese and Latin-American are the only chance. They would bring true multiculturalism into Europe without the threat to the way of life off.
The last sentence should read:
They would bring true multiculturalism into Europe without the threat to the way of life.
Sorry my mistake.
Take heart Swedes....there is a way to fight this....speaking out against religion or immigrants is not accepted by liberals of all nations....but you can ALWAYS ATTACK POLITICAL AGENDAS, PHILOSOPHIES, and the DESTRUCTION OF YOUR CULTURE...(your culture is your identity...no one has the right to take it from you).
Islam is a POLITICAL MOVEMENT...that only hides behind the guise of religion...you can ATTACK THE IDEA OF AN ISLAMIC STATE...based on political grounds.....now is not the time to waver...be bold, creative and honest....what you are and always have been...depend on it!....
You can compare what the islamic state has to offer compared to what you have....its not unreasonable...
